Which political party would you consider me a part of?
I dont follow politics all that much. When people ask me what my views are, I just say I am conservative and choose not to have debates with them. I live in a swing state (Iowa), and I hear both good and bad things about Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, and the like wherever I go.
I think both President Obama and Mitt Romney are clowns who say the stupidest things on national television, but Id rather cast my vote for one of them than a 3rd party candidate where it wont count. I dont watch debates or campaign speeches as the candidates are just telling the audience what they want to hear.
In 2008, I voted for John McCain because he seemed more open to compromise than Obama.
Now, on to what I believe:
- I believe in keeping the "social safety net" the way it is. Perhaps these systems can be reformed to be made more efficient and more difficult to abuse, but I dont see the logic behind removing any of them entirely.
- I think that the Affordable Care Act should be amended. Democrats support it for different reasons than Republicans hate it, and they should be able to come to a compromise in some way.
- I support government bailouts to save the economy, but I believe that they should also enact legislation to prevent companies from becoming "too big to fail".
- Civil liberties - I hated Bush and Obama for this - the drone strikes in Pakistan, NDAA, and indefinite detention without a trial in the name of stopping terrorism are all unacceptable. What was that quote from Jefferson again?
-Gun control - I believe that people should be allowed to have guns. Its in the Constitution after all. However, mental patients and felons should not be able to get gun licenses. The gun show loophole to purchase a gun without a permit should be closed; otherwise, any restriction you have is pointless.
- Gay Marriage - I think it should be legal with a Constitutional amendment protecting the rights of same-sex couples. The time lawmakers spend on petty shit like this is depressing.
- Abortion - I believe abortion is more ethical than bringing another unwanted baby into the world. Life starts when the baby is born. Partial-birth abortion, however, is unacceptable in my book.
- Education - Both sides should be open-minded and find a solution that actually works.
- Taxation - Tax the rich who the same rate or higher than the rest of the population. Continue supporting business/Wall Street and earn what is taken from the rich.
- Federal budget - I believe that Congress should be required to pass a budget.
- Science - I side with what the science shows on issues of evolution, climate change, etc. I think it is a bit idiotic that people with no background in science are still contesting the experts in these things.
- War - Like I said before, we need to get out of Pakistan and Afghanistan and stop killing innocent civilians with our planes. We should not listen to or support Netanyahu in his warmongering against Iran or Palestine. Let him bring Israel to war on his own if he wants to be a neo-con sack of shit.
So, which political party do you see me as a part of, and which of the two major candidates do you think I would agree with the most?
Answer: I would say Jill Stein, but shes not winning.
Obama has been weaker on important issues than i would like.
Obama is closer to your views than romney.
Romney also wants war in Iran... and that is NOT good.
And he wants to maintain or increase the current military.

Obama Comes Out Swinging in 2nd Debate; Candy Crowley Fact ...

Does McCain have a continual pattern of stumbling?
Following Black Sunday, The Economy is fundamentally strong per McCain
That afternoon after negative feedback "We have a crisis"
Suggest President fire the SEC Chairman. Bush cannot do this because he is independant entity.
Then suspend the campaign, try to stop the debate and solve the crisis on your white horse
Oops upon plane landing agreement made
Make calls to stop the agreement, so you can take credit
Bail out agreement falls through in the oval office
Go to the debate even though you said you wouldnt if the crisis wasnt solved.
Lose the debate to Obama
Failed to get his party to come up w/required votes
Do you really think McCain is up to the job of Commander and Chief? He seems to be wildly swinging one way and then another.
On the other hand Obama measures twice and cuts once. He consults with experts before he makes statements. He is calm and steady throughout this crisis. He always seems to have much more of a handle on the situation. Your thoughts?
Answer: I agree with you totally. Old Grumpy McBush just a week ago was spouting that the economy is fundamentally sound. All he knows about is surge, surge and more surge, and everybody gets blown up.

Obama Team Tries to Change Course After Debate Disappoints
DENVER -- President Obama and his team woke up here on Thursday morning confronted by the realization that he lost his first debate by passively letting Mitt Romney control the conversation. Then the president and his advisers resolved to do what he himself did not the night before. Under fire from fellow Democrats, Mr. Obama came out swinging, - By MARK LANDLER and PETER BAKER
Conservatives, Im getting really worried now?
After Obamas poor debate performance I was ecstatic. This morning I read the jobs numbers and it was like a punch in the stomach. It was 30% better than what surveyed economists thought it would be.
Now Im worried that in the next two debates Obama might learn from his mistakes in the first one and come out swinging, because lets face it, Romney isnt the most charming or likable person in the world.
Im gonna need a Scotch and xanax. This is NOT good.

Is Hillary as slick as Bill, or is he teaching her?
After the last debate and prior to the Nevada debate, Bill was complaining about the others beating up on Hillary. Hillary, herself, alluded to being victimized due to her femaleness. She later tried to retract this statement.
In the Nevada debate, she came out swinging. It was exactly what she wanted. She wanted Obama and Edwards to hold back, and they did. When they did, she attacked their character. I cannot fault her for acting as if she is for fair play then nailing them. However, she knows what is coming in the next debate. I can almost feel it. Bill will not be able to offset the truth. She still has not turned over her records, but she stated that she does not have a problem doing it. Well, do it! I cannot wait until the next one. I can predict what is going to happen. Obama will grow new balls and fight for the first time. Edward won the first, and Hillary won the second. It is now or never, for we are not looking a priest but a president who is aggressive.
Answer: Just look at it...
Returned (fishy) campaign contributions. Does this give the impression that shes has ethics? Or is this a foreshadowing of things to come? I decide based upon past experience.
Loaded audiences designed to help her look good. Does this, give the impression of high moral standards and ethics? No.
What more will we see? It WILL happen again, and again, and again. At what point will the American people say enough and give her the boot?
Frustrated.

President Barack Obama comes out swinging in 2nd debate, and Mitt
17 hours ago ... Batter after batter, they went down like chopped vines. .... President Barack Obama comes out swinging in 2nd debate, and Mitt Romney hits ...
Todays McCain is rejecting the Bush policies of the last eight years. What will tomorrows McCain say?
Its really too little too late. If Mccain had come out swinging against Bush he would have lost the base. By waiting until now hes lost the middle. This guy changes his tactics and proposals three times a day and four times on Sundays, and after spending the past two weeks trying to provoke his wing-nut followers to assassinate Obama, now hes talking "respectful campaign." Im reminded that he was a pilot, not a field commander, and though he was placed in nominal charge of a peacetime fleet when he got home, McCains never commanded troops in combat and graduated bottom of his class at the academy and its showing. Clearly when they taught strategy he was recovering from an all night drunk. Hes beginning to look like an Alztheimers patient, especially wandering around the debate stage like, as Letterman said, "Like hes trying to figure out where he parked the Buick.".
Answer: I am afraid that there is going to be a lot of desperate tactics coming fromt he GOP, which is only going to showcase how out of touch they really are about things

Who think Hillary will get booed again by the crowed tonight at the debate? i do?
I think after the 2nd or 3rd time she tries to get nasty the crowed will pounce on her and boo her. Shes gonna come out swinging tonight but will end up looking stupid cause obama will still be his calm, cool, and collect self!!
Answer: Obama does stumble over words. A lot of people do. Does that make Hillary the better debater..no way! Hillary complains on stage about getting asked questions first and then refers to SNL skit...that's sad. If she starts tearing into Obama about him looking down on people because he spoke the truth about folks being bitter and everyone knows it...she will get booed. It's not because people lack in education or class it's that they are fed up with her crap.

Colorado Indpendents 58-36 thinks Obama walloped Romney?
could CO flip back to our President??
Forty-five percent of the Independents surveyed in Colorado said after the debate that they were more likely to vote for Obama, while only 31 percent said the same for Romney.
Public Policy Polling took an instant snapshot and found that Colorado voters think Obama beat Romney, 48-44. Among Independents, though, Obama won big — he beat Romney 58-36 in that crucial group.
Forty-five percent of the Independents surveyed in Colorado said after the debate that they were more likely to vote for Obama, while only 31 percent said the same for Romney.
Though its certainly far too early to tell if this debate will shift the race in any meaningful way, the instant polls coming out so far are certainly much more positive for the president than last time around. Its especially significant in a swing state like Colorado, which saw a big shift toward Romney after he walloped Obama in Denver.

There used to be just two Stephen Colberts, and they were hard enough to distinguish. The main difference was that one thought the other was an idiot. For Two Primaries, Win-Win, Lose-Lose and Win-Lose Scenarios
Its almost over. Well, not quite. But the Democratic presidential primaries taking place on Tuesday in North Carolina and Indiana have more delegates up for grabs than any of the remaining contests. For political, demographic and mathematical reasons, those states have the potential to reshape the competition between Senators Hillary Rodham - Primaries in Indiana and North Carolina have potential to reshape competition between Sens Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, leaving both sides anxious; if Clinton wins both races, it would be sign that she is gaining momentum and that Obama is having trouble among white blue-collar workers; if Obama wins both states, Clintons campaign could be over; if there is split decision, most likely with Clinton winning Indiana and Obama taking North Carolina, race would most likely continue, but it would be difficult for Clinton to soldier on without increasing her numbers in pledged delegates and popular vote; photos; graphs show delegate and superdelegate counts (M) - By ADAM NAGOURNEY
Is Obama Going to Implode Tonight? Is McCain Trying to Knock Him Off Balance Before the Debate.?
Palin hit him hard Saturday and Sunday. McCain came out swinging Monday. Obama was off balance after Palin Attacks in Late August and early September. Lets see if it works again.
No Teleprompter for Obama tonight, for the debate.
After debate now.
I, as a McCain supporter, felt disappointed that he let a lot of softballs go right be him.
I am actually going to agree with the liberals on this, at best a tie for McCain. When I watched Palin destroy Biden, it was obvious and you could point at several moments and say ouch. Not tonight.
Answer: I think they'll both be loaded for bear for this debate, it should be interesting to say the least.

A lot of pissed off Liberals out there after the debates right?
Romney better be ready for the next debate because Obama will come out swinging next round. Paul Ryan will tear Joe biden apart. I dont think too many liberals will disagree. Joe Biden is a retard. Obama on the other hand is smart, and he will come back stronger. Romney better be ready.
I would not underestimate Obama, no matter how much you dislike him. He still has a lot of backing, especially in the media which youve witnessed with the sudden drop in unemployment.
Answer: the next debate will be onn foreign policy
what, pray tell, can obama say?
i won the nobel peace prize
to romney
saying
that was a joke, mr president
