Did you know 615 Economists, including 6 Nobel Prize winners have signed up supporting Romneys economic plan?
As the plan to get our countrys economy growing again?
http://economistsforromney.com/
Their Statement:
We enthusiastically endorse Governor Mitt Romney’s economic plan to create jobs and restore economic growth while returning America to its tradition of economic freedom. The plan is based on proven principles: a more contained and less intrusive federal government, a greater reliance on the private sector, a broad expansion of opportunity without government favors for special interests, and respect for the rule of law including the decision-making authority of states and localities.
Applying these principles, Governor Romney would:
Reduce marginal tax rates on business and wage incomes and broaden the tax base to increase investment, jobs, and living standards.
End the exploding federal debt by controlling the growth of spending so federal spending does not exceed 20 percent of the economy.
Restructure regulation to end “too big to fail,” improve credit availability to entrepreneurs and small businesses, and increase regulatory accountability, and ensure that all regulations pass rigorous benefit-cost tests.
Improve our Social Security and Medicare programs by reducing their growth to sustainable levels, ensuring their viability over the long term, and protecting those in or near retirement.
Reform our healthcare system to harness market forces and thereby reduce costs and increase quality, empowering patients and doctors, rather than the federal bureaucracy.
Promote energy policies that increase domestic production, enlarge the use of all western hemisphere resources, encourage the use of new technologies, end wasteful subsidies, and rely more on market forces and less on government planners.
In stark contrast, President Obama has failed to advance policies that promote economic and job growth, focusing instead on increasing the size and scope of the federal government, which increases the debt, requires large tax increases, and burdens business with many new financial and health care regulations. The result is an anemic economic recovery and high unemployment. His future plans are to double down on the failed policies, which will only prolong slow growth and high unemployment.
President Obama has:
Relied on short-term “stimulus” programs, which provided little sustainable lift to the economy, and enacted and proposed significant tax increases for all Americans.
Offered no plan to reduce federal spending and stop the growth of the debt-to-GDP ratio.
Failed to propose Social Security reform and offered a Medicare proposal that relies on a panel of bureaucrats to set prices, quantities, and qualities of healthcare services.
Favored a large expansion of economic regulation across many sectors, with little regard for proper cost-benefit analysis and with a disturbing degree of favoritism toward special interests.
Enacted health care legislation that centralizes health care decisions and increases the power of the federal bureaucracy to impose one-size-fits-all solutions on patients and doctors, and creates greater incentives for waste.
Favored expansion of one-size-fits-all federal rulemaking, with an erosion of the ability of state and local governments to make decisions appropriate for their particular circumstances.
In sum, Governor Romney’s economic plan is far superior for creating economic growth and jobs than the actions and interventions President Obama has taken or plans to take in the future. This November, voters will make a fundamental choice between differing visions of America’s economic future.
@Maxmom - Prove it. Show me the list of hundreds of economists, including 6 Nobel Prize winners supporting Obamas plan.
Answer: Anybody who knows the slightest thing about economics knows that Radical Left-Wing Extremist Barack Obama's policies will never work. But go easy on the Nobel Prize thing. Remember they gave one to Radical Left-Wing Extremist Barack Obama (Al Gore too) so it doesn't carry the prestige it once did.

Could Ryans VP candidacy help BOTH parties to avoid addressing the jobs crisis?
The media commentators that I respect are mostly saying that Romneys choice of Paul Ryan for VP will make this years election more POLICY-focused than US politics has been in many years.
Ryan & Romney stand for a radical Tea Party / Koch brothers vision of sharply limited government and pro-corporate tax policies, the saying goes. Obama and the Democrats stand for a much more New Deal tradition of extensive goverment involvement in such "entitlement" programs as Medicare & Social Security.
In theory, therefore, this election will supposedly present America voters with a clear choice between clashing "liberal" and "conservative" visions of the role of government in our mix-economy capitalist system.
But will an election that focuses on the rival approaches to Paul Ryan and Barrack Obama to Social Security & Medicare also have a conveninet side benefit for BOTH major parties -- namely, that the voters & the pundits will be distracted from the question of whether EITHER party has a good plan for reigniting US economic growth & actually curing high unemployment?
As a democratic socialist, my hunch is that the question of unemployment will be almost eclipsed over the next 2 months, as the 2 big capitalist parties argue furiously over whether Social Security and Medicare should be sacrificed on the altar of debt reduction.
What are your thoughts on Ryan and Ryans contribution to the campaign, however? Are American voters capable of thinking about BOTH the entitlement program/ budget deficit tradefoff, AND the justice or injustice of the tax code, AND the pressing question of how the capitalist economies of the West can create enough jobs for everyone who wants one?
Or will we see both Democrats & Republicans sweeping the unemployment problem under the rug while the contending politicians focus solely on spending & entitlements?
Answer: This is the most clear and concise summary of the election rhetoric I have seen yet. Congrats! on actually understanding the policies as they really are. I am afraid you are quite right in thinking the unemployment problem will be sweep under the rug now that Ryan is the VP candidate. I have to wonder if that was the real reason for the Ryan choice, to turn the topic away from unemployment.
Does either party actually have a good plan for unemployment? My next question, is Congress going to change enough to get anything done for the next President?

Where is the fact checking on Obamas propaganda speeches?
After nearly every article about Mitt Romney or the Republicans there seems to be space at the end for “Fact Check.” But whenever Barack Obama speaks (“Back to the Beginning,” May 25), no fact check appears.
Every distortion, mistake and lie the president utters is accepted as gospel. His jobs creation in green energy is a myth; the rate of spending under his administration is so disingenuous it borders on an outright lie, and the constant blaming of the Republicans for the massive growth of the nation’s debt would be downright laughable if it weren’t so serious.
Yet they are accepted as fact by an unquestioning, sympathetic news media, including The Des Moines Register, which is more willing to focus on what Obama speculates Romney might do as president than what Obama actually has done as president and what he specifically intends to do differently if he is reelected.
It appears Obama is going to get another free ride from his devoted followers who, like jilted lovers, naively accept his same old stories and promises, believing things will be different this time.

President Obama sometimes forgets that an important speech does not have to be endless. Democrats frequently ask me why the Republicans have become so extreme. As they describe the situation, they usually fall back on some sort of illness metaphor. Republicans have a mania. Why would anyone vote Obama a 2nd term considering his record?
Americans hear it every day on the major networks and especially among the Obama Cheerleading Squad over at CNBC.
The problem for Obama is that even though the recession may be over in a very narrow technical sense, the American people are not buying it because the Obama "machine" has made ALL opposition a worse choice than he.
Americans are not focused. Dogs and the oppositions "hatred" for women...really..!!
are what they hear instead of the following facts:
*Millions have given up looking for a job and are no longer counted in the stats, official unemployment is still over 8%. ..actual unemployment hovers at 16%.
*Job growth is not even keeping up with the number of young people entering the workforce.
*1 out of 2 recent college grads is unemployed or underemployed.
*Gas is $4 a gallon and food inflation is ravaging our take-home pay.
*Home prices fall month-after-month-after-month.
*Real income continues to fall during this so-called "recovery", and 2011s drop was the biggest in 35 years (ironically the Carter years).
It should be apparent :
This President [ B.H. Obama is by far the biggest failure as POYUS in 99% of all Americans lifetime, and it may be another 100 years before another US President comes close to challenging his sheer ineptness.
I doubt Will [Mitt] Romney could be that "special" one to replace Obamas signature of failure.
POTUS..not POYUS
Adam, what is really scary is→ These facts are real. And, facts are stubborn; they insist upon being true.
Obama has the "honour" of being responsible for these facts.
When you happen to cut yourself Adam, you at the least put a bandage on it. You dont gouge it to bleed more.
Obamas record is not that bad?
Oh, sure, its really fine; its not ..that bad..→ it could be worse. [ I suppose]
It would be a tough thing though.
Answer: If you think Obama is hurtimg this country by investing in the poor, are as I call them the victims of this mess, wait til you see what Romney is going to do to America. Corporate fraud, not welfare fraud is what got us into this mess and Romney is the ultimate corporate Droid. If we look at the places in America, where deep spending cuts, deep tax cuts and collective bargaining have been thrown away the narrative is devastating. It's gotten so bad in Wisconsin that it looks like the govenor and lieutenant governor are going to be recalled, the citizens have already collected more than twice as many signatures needed to oust the failed governor.
Oh and when we look at Pontiac and Hammtrac, MI where democracy has been thrown out the window we see nothing but disparity. Government has been replaced with executive managers, in both towns these executive managers have total authorian godike power.
The Govenors of Ohio and Pennsylvania aren't so popular either. I mean how stupid does it sound cutting into our country's education, democracy- fireman, teachers, police, etc. etc., healthcare and then use the money from these cuts to give corporations and rich people huge tax cuts, and have no incentive to spend. Rich people don't spend money, they hold onto it unless they have an incentive to spend it. Poor people spend money because they have to all the time. Seriously its stupid to give to a few and then think they going to make jobs for all us. Businesses don't need tax cuts, they need fewer red tape, and fraud protection against lawsuits, but this economy needs modest spending cuts with fairer taxes being paid by corporations like Apple.
And yes we should end subsidies to big oil. Many argue that other corporations recieve subsidies like Apple, but Apple is a drop in a bucket compared to BP, Exxon Mobil and conocco Phillips. The people who vote for Romney are complete fools.
Look Ant your numbers don't tell the whole story, but what I'm telling you is the numbers are going to be 10 times more grimmer. Inflation has to do with the federal reserve and the stock market, which is another reason we are in this mess. -No regulation, these people weren't just duping poor people, they were duping entire states and cities. These people can make 5
-10 million a year making up derivatives for risky trade agreements, like home loans. In all fairness home loans for poor people would've worked out pretty well had gas prices not skyrocketed all through the bush years. Studys show that poor people were actually paying their mortgages until gas prices start soaring. For a few months leading up to the 2008 elections gas prices magically dropped below $2 but right before that gas had peaked at around $4.10 a gallon and before that pretty much hovered above $3.50, so its hard for me to believe that Republicans are so appaled at gas prices.

What is your opinion of Mitt Romney?
Im wondering why so many Conservatives have all jumped on the Perry bandwagon when it is clear that he is virtually unelctable against President Obama.
In the article, linked below, you will read that Romney poses a stronger challenge to Obama in a general election. Forty-six percent of voters say they believe Romney would do a better job on the economy, while 42 percent choose Obama. In a Perry-Obama face-off, 43 percent of voters say Obama would do a better job on the economy while 41 percent choose Perry. Also, among independent voters, Romney leads Obama by 12 points, 49 percent to 37 percent while Perry only leads by 3% (43%-40%).

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-08-31/perry-less-likely-than-romney-to-beat-obama-in-2012-poll-shows.html
While Romney is more moderate than Perry (which causes a lot of Republicans to dislike him), the polls show that Romney is the GOPs only shot of beating Obama. Perry is too radical, too far right to get the Independent votes. Here are 5 things you should also consider before getting too close with Perry:
1) The debt in Texas is out of control under Perry. From 2001 to 2010, state debt alone grew from $13.4 billion to $37.8 billion. Thats an increase of a whopping, 281%.
2) Perry is extremely soft on immigration, especially for a Conservative in the Conservative state of Texas. Perry opposed Arizonas immigration law and even supports amnesty for the millions of illegals.
3) Texas has one of the worst education systems in the country. 49th in SAT scores and 36th in the nation in high school diploma rates.
4) Almost all of the job growth in Texas over the past few years has been from the spike in oil prices. Something Rick Parry has no control over, and other states could not replicate, yet he takes credit for it.
5) Perry was a registered Democrat up until 1989 and even supported Al Gore in 1988. So while everyone calles Romney a "RINO", at least Romney can say that he was never a Democrat.
Im just asking that you look long and hard at Perry because in reality, hes one of the worst governors in Texas history. Do you really want your nominee to have a record that includes an unsolved debt crisis and support for illegal immigrants, who are taking such a toll on this country?
If you read about Mitt Romney, you will read good things about him. Unlike Perry, Romney has had great success in delaling with debt crisises. He got Massachusetts out of their biggest defecit in state history after only his first year as governor, without even raising taxes. Also, unlike Perry, Romney vetoed laws that benefited illegal immigrants. He has already stated that he will repeal Obamacare and that federal-run healthcare is not the answer. The main reason why most of the far right Conservatives, such as the Tea Party, dislike him is because of "Romney-care" but that shouldnt be a factor considering that he is against federal-run healthcare.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Answer: Romney is an excellent person, considering his background. He is the only republican front-runner that is a businessman (besides the difficult-to-elect Cain). Sure, he had to let a few thousand people out of their jobs. But he created tens of thousands more!
Perry is out-of-touch with his conservative base. Perry wants to get rid of social security. This will ONLY affect the elderly, but unfortunately most of the elderly are republican. Perry is pushing his new book, writing ridiculous laws, and dodging the republican party's debates. Do we really need another phony career politician in the white house?
