U.S. SET TO ACT ON MEXICO BORDER DRUG FLOW
Illegal immigration, drug and arms trafficking and related violence have grown to such levels that officials say the United States is preparing to restrict the relatively free flow of people and materials across the Mexican border. Do you agree with Tom Tancredo is calling for the resignation Janet Napolitano following the murder?
Former Congressman Tom Tancredo is calling for the resignation of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano following the murder last weekend of a southeastern Arizona rancher.
Rob Krentz was shot and killed last Saturday by a suspected drug smuggler who allegedly made their way across the southeastern Arizona border in Cochise County, Ariz. Tancredo, an anti-illegal immigration crusader, was in the border county at the time.
He said Krentz’s murder is a reflection of failed policies and actions by Napolitano and the entire Obama administration. The Jefferson County Republican said if more of a focus was placed on border patrol, including sending in the National Guard, deaths such as Krentz’s could be avoided.
In a YouTube video posted yesterday, Tancredo called for Napolitano’s resignation.
“She is not a person who should be in charge of Homeland Security when she purposely lies about the conditions in and around that border,” Tancredo said in the video, sitting in his home office surrounded by a cardboard cutout of John Wayne that states, “Defend our borders.”
“We must not let the murder of Rob Krentz be forgotten as just one more tragedy on that border,” Tancredo said earlier in the video. “It is a tragedy, but it is one that could have been prevented if the Congress and the President of the United States would only listen to the people on that border and to the millions of Americans who have been calling for border security — but they’ve turned a deaf ear to it.”
A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security told the Denver Daily News yesterday in an e-mail that a surge of law enforcement personnel is happening in “key areas” along the border. Matt Chandler, a spokesman for Napolitano, defended the Homeland Security secretary’s policies.
“In March 2009, Secretary Napolitano implemented unprecedented new efforts to crack down on the smuggling of illicit weapons, cash and drugs that fuel ongoing cartel violence — with a specific emphasis on outbound inspections of trains, trucks, cars and individuals heading south into Mexico,” said Chandler. “U.S. Customs and Border Protection, in coordination with federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement, remains vigilant in the face of increased violence in Mexico, and is determined to prevent violence from crossing over the border into the United States.”
Chandler said his department is “outraged” over Krentz’s murder, pointing out that federal law enforcement agencies have been assisting in the investigation. Customs and Border Protection provided air and marine support to assist in the search for the suspect, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement has dedicated agents to the case on a full-time basis, said Chandler.
ICE is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect or suspects responsible for the murder.
“DHS continues to work around the clock to help our state and local law enforcement partners bring those responsible to justice,” Chandler said in a statement.
He also points out that since 2004, border patrol has doubled in size to approximately 20,000 agents. And since the southwest border initiative was launched last year, special border patrol agents have been increased; ICE intelligence analysts have grown; all southbound rail shipments have been searched; and canine teams have been expanded, according to Homeland Security officials.
But Tancredo believes the Obama administration is more focused on an immigration reform proposal that would provide undocumented immigrants with a path to citizenship than it is with securing the nation’s borders.
“The reason Napolitano cannot admit we have a border security problem is that such an admission would complicate Obama’s political agenda,” said Tancredo. “It is shameful that Obama is putting politics ahead of the safety of our communities and our nation.”

Do you agree with Tom Tancredo is calling for the resignation Janet Napolitano following the murder of the rancher by an illegal alien ?
Answer: Napolitano is two-faced regarding illegal immigration.
She vetoed several bills that would have saved our state $M's then turned around and cried to the Feds that more was needed to secure the border.
She also billed the Feds for incarceration costs of illegals.
She was never qualified for the job. She had no interest in securing the border. The one who is the most qualified is Joe Arpaio, but they will never consider him because the Dem's objective is not stopping illegal entry.

Arizona Border Sheriff Says Obama Should Visit Grave of Murdered Rancher will Obama do it ?
CNSNews.com) – Sheriff Larry Dever of Cochise County, Ariz., which sits on the U.S.-Mexico border, says if President Barack Obama were to come and visit that county he would like to take him to visit the grave of rancher Robert Krentz who was shot and killed on his own property in March by an attacker who fled south on foot into Mexico.
The attacker shot both Krentz and his dog after Krentz had radioed his brother to tell him he saw an immigrant who appeared to be in trouble and that his brother should notify the Border Patrol.
“I’d take him to Rob Krentz’s gravesite,” Dever told CNSNews.com, following his appearance at an event earlier this month at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. “That’s where I’d take him.”
Krentz, who was 58 years old, was a prominent cattleman in Cochise County whose family had operated a ranch in the region for three generations.
After Krentzs dead body was found in his all-terrain vehicle about 1,000 feet from where he and his dog had been shot, Cochise County sheriffs office deputies, Border Patrol agents and dogs tracked a set of footprints 20 miles south from the scene of the murder to the Mexican border.
CNSNews.com asked Dever what he would show Obama if he could give the president a tour of Cochise County, a visit the sheriff said should be more than fleeting if the president wants to truly understand what is going on at the border.

Why is Napolitano going to Ariz after agent killed Our borders are more secure today than they have ever been?
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will go to Arizona on Thursday after a Border Patrol agent was shot and killed in the state.
“The fatal shooting of Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry last night is an unconscionable act of violence against the men and women of the Border Patrol and all those who serve and defend our country,” Napolitano said in a statement. “Agent Terry was killed in the line of duty while confronting several suspects near Rio Rico, Ariz. It is a stark reminder of the very real dangers our men and women on the frontlines confront every day as they protect our communities and the American people.”
Napolitano, a former governor of Arizona, will meet with Border Patrol agents and employees in Nogales and Tucson on Thursday and Friday, a Homeland Security official said.

Janet will blame the border agent. AG Eric Holder will agree and bash Americans. Then Obama will join in and bash Americans and say this is why we need the DREAM act.
Answer: "Not all Illegals are criminals. "
-Yes they are. They all committed a felony to enter the country. Plus, most commit fraud or identity theft as well. Driving without a license, without insurance, etc.
"It wouldnt give the criminals citizenship."
-It would reward the crimes of their parents or whoever smuggled them into the country.

What do you think Janet Please dont come to El Paso and issue what is essentially a dare to Mexican drug cart?
Janet, Janet, Janet ...
Please dont come to El Paso and issue what is essentially a dare to Mexican drug cartels.
"Dont even think about bringing your violence and tactics across this border," Janet Napolitano said Monday.
"You will be met by an overwhelming response. And were going to continue to work with our partners in Mexico to dismantle and defeat you."
As I read her challenge, a Jim Croce tune started drifting through my mind, along with the words:
"You dont tug on Supermans cape
"You dont spit into the wind
"You dont pull the mask off the ole Lone Ranger
"And you dont mess around with Jim."
Today, Croce might have included, "You dont double-dog-dare the Mexican drug cartels."
So Napolitano issues the challenge and then hightails it back to Washington.
Leaving us to face the music.
Yeah, weve got police and sheriffs deputies and Border Patrol and state police and constables and such.
But Ive always figured the main reason we arent Juárez is because the cartel types figure lots of us civilian types have guns and might just put up a fight. Unlike the unarmed populace they face in Mexico.
While that might sound like the makings of a good spaghetti Western, its still not a good idea for Napolitano to, in so many words, dare the cartels to do something on this side of the border.
Janet, we have enough problems without you standing up and yelling across the border, "Hey. You drug cartels over there. You want a piece of us?
Cmon!"
Napolitano also said that the U.S.-Mexico border is more secure today than ever before.
I guess that depends on your definition of "secure."
The family and friends of Arizona rancher Robert Krentz, killed on his ranch by presumed drug smugglers in May 2010, might have a different opinion.
So might friends, family and co-workers of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, shot and killed near Rio Rico, Ariz. in December while attempting to apprehend armed subjects.
A Hudspeth County road crew shot at from Mexico in January might have a different definition of "secure."
Border Patrol agents who get shot at or rocked from the Mexican side might dispute the "secure" designation.
But, according to Napolitano, Im wrong, because the border is more secure than it ever has been.
Uh-huh.

Congressman Says Shooting Death Of Patrol Agent Sheds Light On Weak Immigration Laws
December 21, 2010
by Personal Liberty News Desk
The recent shooting death of a United States Border Patrol agent should be a wake-up call for President Barack Obama, according to Representative Lamar Smith (R-Texas).
Smith, who will serve as the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee during the next congressional session, said that the murder of Brian Terry on Dec. 14 sheds light on Americas lax immigration policies. According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials, Terry was fatally shot near Rio Rico, Ariz. while trying to catch bandits who target illegal immigrants for robbery.
Smith reported that about 28,000 people have been killed along the U.S.-Mexico border since 2005, including 1,000 law enforcement officers.
"Our border remains porous and the Obama administration has done nothing to stop the steady flow of human and drug smuggling from Mexico," Smith said in a statement.
In the statement, Smith questioned how many more Americans will die before the Obama administration starts taking illegal immigration seriously.
According to The Washington Post, a joint U.S.-Mexico committee met for the first time on Dec. 15 to address border violence. The committee was created by Obama and Mexico President Felipe Calderon.

If illegals do jobs we wont do, why did 5 of them gun down a Border Patrol agent?
Dec. 15) -- Authorities continue to search today for a fifth suspect in the death of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, who was shot during a gun fight late Tuesday night.
Terry, 40, and a team of agents were in a remote part of the desert last night trying to track down a group of thieves who were believed to have been stealing from illegal immigrants. Just after 11 p.m., the agents encountered the men in an area north of Nogales, Ariz., known as Peck Canyon, and Terry was killed in the ensuing gunfight.
Four of the five men involved in his death have been captured, and the fifth is still on the loose. Surge Desk offers background on the fallen agent:
Early Life and Family
Terry grew up in the small town of Flat Rock, Mich., about 20 miles south of Detroit. He graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1988, azcentral.com reported. He is survived by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Military Man
Before signing on to the Border Patrols Search, Trauma and Rescue team, known as BORSTAR, Terry had served in the military and was a Border Patrol agent for about three years. He was required to complete a special training program before he could join the rescue team, USA Today reported.
Border Patrol Beat
Terry was stationed out of Nogales Border Patrol Station near Tucson, Ariz., which is the largest Border Patrol station in the country, azcentral.com reported. Agents stationed there are responsible for covering 1,100 square miles of terrain and about 32 miles of the international border.
Job Duties
What does it mean to serve as a member of BORSTAR? According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security:
BORSTARs primary mission is to respond to incidents involving distressed agents and migrants along the border. These rescued individuals are predominantly undocumented aliens but also include agents and border residents. Search and rescue operations are conducted throughout the year in varying climates and topographies. ... These rescues vary in difficulty from simply locating victims and providing them with water to complex rescues requiring agents to rappel into remote canyons to assist victims and extract them by helicopter.
Answer: Couple of issues.
The first is the fallacy that ILLEGALS do the jobs that we won't do. They simply do them cheaper and with fewer (if any) benefits. A fact taken advantage of by unscrupulous employers. Pay more and provide benefits and Americans will line up to do those same jobs.
The second is that I don't see any connection between "doing jobs we won't do" and "shooting a border patrol agent". Unless you're advocating that Americans should gun down our own border patrol. And I'm choosing to believe that's not what you meant.
As to why they shot this man? The same reason that any criminal will kill law enforcement officers. They get in their way of committing crimes and they have no regard for human life. Their immigration status is merely a side note in that dynamic.

Obama no comment what are your comments Robert Krentz killing stokes fears of rampant illegal immigration?
Los Angeles – The killing of Arizona rancher Robert Krentz has prompted the state’s governor, its most influential senator, and its farming community to say that Washington is not doing enough to prevent illegal immigration and secure the border with Mexico.
Mr. Krentz was found Saturday, fatally shot and slumped over in his all-terrain vehicle, which still had its lights and engine on. Law enforcement officials tracked footprints from the scene back to the border, raising speculation that the killer is an illegal immigrant.
The apparent murder heightens the tension surrounding the immigration reform debate, with advocates of much stricter immigration controls saying Krentzs death highlights the urgent need for significantly increased border security.
Already, Krentz’s death is being held up as evidence that border violence is spiraling out of control as the Obama administration mulls immigration reform that could include a path to citizenship for some illegal immigrants in the United States.
“It’s scary,” says Dawn Garner, a teacher and yoga instructor whose small ranch abuts the border near Naco, Ariz., just miles from Krentz’s ranch. She says she counts “at least 12” immigrants crossing her property every day.
“It’s become Grand Central Station out here since the Obama administration began talking about comprehensive reform,” says Ms. Garner, whose daughter knows Krentz’s son. “They’re all trying to get up here quickly so they can be inside the country when amnesty – or whatever they want to call it – is announced.”
Calls for actionSince Saturday, Gov. Jan Brewer (D) and Sen. John McCain (R) have called on the Department of Homeland Security to deploy the National Guard to the Arizona border. The Arizona Farm Bureau added: “Until Congress addresses securing the border, all necessary resources should be focused on Arizonas border.”
Authorities have not announced any motive for the killing, nor have they officially suggested that the killer was an illegal immigrant.
For his part, Krentz was well known in the area as a rancher who was kind to illegal immigrants he found on his property, despite having been robbed by them once. “You know, if they come in and ask for water, Ill still give them water," he told PBSs "Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly" in 1999. “You know, thats just my nature."
Krentz’s brother, however, had called border patrol agents the day before the killing. The agents stopped a caravan of illegal immigrants carrying 280 pounds of marijuana, raising the possibility of the crime being retaliation.
An appeal for patienceExperts caution that authorities must understand what happened before conclusions should be drawn.
“An important question to ask is whether the killing of Robert Krentz is more an aberration than the norm at the Arizona border,” says Catherine Wilson, an immigration analyst at Villanova University in Philadelphia. “Did the immigrant responsible for Krentz’s death have ties to the drug-trafficking trade? Will we be seeing more violence at the border due to the heightening of drug-related crime in northern Mexico?”
Advocates for immigrants say Krentz’s death is less an issue of illegal immigration than of the increasing lawlessness in the border areas of Mexico, which affects American citizens and immigrants alike.
“It took the life of a Caucasian rancher, an innocent soul, to garner the attention of the violence on the border,” says Angelica Salas, director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA). “Countless individuals have been murdered at the border during the crossing by ... criminals and their sophisticated networks.”
“Without legal channels for entry into the US, without reform, those who control the border are violent criminals, and the victims are innocent people, including the undocumented, who are raped, injured, and killed,” she adds.

Should President Obama listen to these congressmen about sending armed National Guard troops to the border?
Bipartisan House Members Demand Armed National Guard at the Border
A bipartisan group of House members announced today they want the president to send armed National Guard troops to the border with rules of engagement that would allow them to defend themselves.
Led by Reps. Ted Poe (R-Texas) and Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), the group supports border state governors who have been repeatedly asking for troops to assist Border Patrol and local law enforcement agencies overwhelmed by escalating border violence.
In a letter citing instances of murders of U.S. citizens and the occurrence of attacks and further threats to law enforcement personnel, the group urges the president to deploy National Guard troops at levels already requested by the state governors and members of Congress.
They also say the troops should be “provided with very clear guidance of proper rules of engagement and should be armed and allowed to defend themselves if fired upon or attacked.”
What a concept.
When the National Guard was last deployed to the border by the Bush administration, troops were unarmed and served in limited, temporary support roles far removed from actual border patrols.
The United States military is well-trained to guard the borders of other countries around the globe and periodically conducts training exercises along our own border regions.
Full text of the letter:
April 28, 2010
The Honorable Barack Obama
President of the United States
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington, DC 20500
Dear President Obama,
As you know, violence in the vicinity of the U.S.-Mexico border continues to increase at an alarming rate. We believe that this violence represents a serious threat to the national security of the United States as well as a serious threat to U.S. citizens that live along the 1,969 mile long border. We strongly believe that it is imperative for your Administration to promptly take the necessary steps to prevent this violence.
We urge the Administration to take action to address this growing national security threat on our southern border. Without swift and decisive action, it is our fear that this violence will only increase in severity and scope. We urge you to deploy the National Guard to the U.S.-Mexico border, as has been requested by a number of border state Governors and Members of Congress. We ask that any National Guard troops that are deployed should be provided with very clear guidance of proper rules of engagement and should be armed and allowed to defend themselves if fired upon or attacked.
As you know, the level of violence along the border continues to increase. Since January 2008, nearly 5,000 homicides have been committed in Juarez, Mexico, making it one of the most violent cities in the world. In 2009 alone, 79 U.S. citizens were killed in Juarez, Mexico. On March 13th of this year, Lesley Enriquez, a U.S. Consulate employee, and her husband Arthur Redelf, a ten year veteran of the El Paso Police Department, were killed when Mexican drug gang members fired a number of rounds at their vehicle. That same day, Jorge Alberto Salcido, the husband of a U.S. Consulate employee, was killed when cartel members shot at his car at a separate location.
On March 27, 2010, Robert Krentz, a longtime Arizona rancher, was found shot dead and slumped over in his all-terrain vehicle with the engine still running. Following the murder of Mr. Krentz, his assailant was tracked to the U.S.- Mexico border and there is evidence that he crossed the border into Mexico. The day before the killing, Mr. Krentz’s brother had called the Border Patrol to report a caravan of illegal immigrants who were ultimately caught carrying 280 pounds of marijuana.
Additionally, our Border Patrol and law enforcement agents along the border are facing a growing threat to their safety. Assaults against Border Patrol agents increased 46 percent from 752 incidents in 2007 to 1,097 incidents in 2008. Recent analysis from the El Paso Sector Border Intelligence Center warns that retaliatory actions against law enforcement officers could occur in the border region.
At the same time, we urge the Administration to provide the Border Patrol with the support it needs, both in terms of tangible resources such as state-of-the-art technology and equipment, as well as ensuring that agents are not disciplined or prosecuted for performing their duties or defending themselves against attacks.
We stand ready to work together with you and your Administration on these important issues to ensure the safety and security of all Americans in the border region and throughout our country.

Answer: This whole issue became an issue after the rancher was shot killed by an illegal who slipped back into Mexico with no chances of ever being caught. The drug cartel does not take kindly to someone turning one of their members over to police. We Americans did not create this problem, the Mexicans did by coming here by the millions.AZ is seen as the gateway into American.Huge amounts of drugs, illegals, smugglers are hauling illegals when caught they lead police on high speed chased. Many smugglers will jump out their ride leaving whoever is in the truck/car in grave danger.Mexico is a violent country and their lawlessness is spilling over into America. We Americans have a right to protect out borders, our citizens. If what all is happening here was to be happening in Mexico they would start arresting and deporting everyone and would use racial profiling to achieve this.Doesn't it all come down to Mexico does not want the flow of American tax dollars to be lower and does not want all who would return to mexico would put a strain on their country as it is doing right now with ours.

Will Guatemala ask Obama to arrest this border agent Obama has FBI On The Case After Arrest Who Will Want To?
SELLS, Ariz. - Officials released the name of the illegal border-crosser from Guatemala who was fatally shot in southern Arizona after he allegedly attacked a federal agent.
The Guatemalan consulate general in Arizona on Thursday identified the man as 28-year-old Byron Neftali Sosa Orellana from Rio Hondo-Zacapa.
Guatemala authorities say American officials told them that he was shot by an agent once in the chest Tuesday night after he became combative and got control of an agents collapsible steel baton and attacked an agent and a police dog.
They also say the struggle began near Sells on the Tohono (toh-HO-noh) Oodham Nation as border agents encountered a group of illegal immigrants.
The FBI and U.S. Border Patrol declined to provide details Thursday on developments in the investigation.

What do you think Illegal immigrant says agent shot, threatened him?
NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) — There are conflicting stories over what led to the shooting of an illegal immigrant by a Border Patrol agent last week in southern Arizonas Walker Canyon A lawyer for the agents union says the unidentified agent was forced to shoot Jesus Enriquez Castro, 30, because Enriquez threatened the agent with a rock.
A lawyer for Enriquez says the wounded man was knocked to the ground by the agents horse before the agent shot him in the abdomen.
Tucson-based attorney Robert Murray tells the Nogales International that Enriquez told him the agent actually ran over Enriquez with the horse. "He was knocked to the ground, and as he was on the ground, the border patrolman, who was still on horseback, shot him," Murray said.
The agent, who is Hispanic, then began to cuss out Enriquez in Spanish, Murray said. "He dismounted and pointed the gun at the guys head and said what translates as: Go ahead and run, (expletive), and Ill kill you."
As for the allegation that Enriquez threatened the agent with a rock, Murray said: "The only time he had his hand near a rock was one he was squeezing and holding onto because he was in so much pain. Thats what he tells me."
Enriquez was shot at about 9:30 a.m. Nov. 16 after the agent came across a group of 12 illegal immigrants in Walker Canyon, about two miles northeast of Pena Blanca Lake.
Witnesses told Santa Cruz County sheriffs investigators that the group scattered and ran, and one woman said she turned to see Enriquez fall to the ground before the shot rang out.
But Jim Calle, a lawyer who represents National Border Patrol Council Local 2544, said Enriquez wielded a rock before the agent forced him to drop it by advancing on him with his horse. Enriquez picked up another rock while advancing to within 3 or 4 feet of the agent.
At that point, Calle said, the agent felt he had no choice but to shoot.
"The bottom line is that the agent acted in response to an alien who kept threatening him," Calle said.

Answer: Well you have an illegal alien threatening a federal agent and a lawyer. Two of the lowest forms of life on the planet! Lying is a way of life with both of them!
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the border patrol agent is telling the truth here!
