San andreas stories for ps3?
ive always loved san andreas, the setting, the gameplay, the features, everything, so i really, REALLY hope the next gta game will be set in san andreas. anyway, i have an idea for a possible plot of the game, just wondering if you like it:
the main character in the game is Daniel...(uh...well i havent really thought of a last name yet, i based him a bit off myself and the guy
from mahunt 2) anyway, hes a guy with quite a troubled past, he was bullied all through his school years because partly due to his muteness (i feel silence makes a character cooler, calmer, and more
mysterious) his lack of social interaction (mostly kept himself to
himself), being smart (had an exceptionally high IQ, and was offered a place at college in year 10...but a shady local businessman and father of the leader of a large school gang (the guys that tormented danny) managed to bribe the college staff (who just cant say no to a few thousand green notes!) into cancelling daniels scholarship. no one new who the gang leader was because he was protected and kept under wraps by his corrupt father. yeah, anyway, after sinking into depression 3 years later, his parents decided to send him to enlist in the united states army, during his time there he was nearly killed when a cargo plane he was in at the time crashed, and killed everyone else on board, he was the only survivor, and after spending 3 months trapped on the island where it crashed was "rescued" and taken hostage by a group of asian arms and narcotics dealers, and was held ransom (and subjected to more torment) and finally freed after another 2 months (as the ransom money was "mysteriously delayed"). and the he continued to live a normal life with his girlfriend, Jessica, (no last name yet) she was the one who stood by daniel through thick and thin ever since they where at school together, he loved her alot, as she did to him, so they lived happily ever after, all dannys troubles put behind him...until 2 years later on dannys 18th birthday, they decided to go to a nightclub, have a drink or two, go home and...well...whatever.
however, whilst walking home through an ally they are attacked from behind, danny is knocked unconcious whilst trying to fight off the attackers, and jess ends up raped, beaten, and murdered, daniel is convicted for the murder and sentenced to life, 5 years later a riot breaks out at the prison, a friend of daniels, a corrupt cop sneaks him out of the prison, daniel returns to his old farmhouse in flint county, trying to clear his head and find peace, as he is haunted by the memories of his childhood, jessica, and his time in the army, soon after the FIB arrive outside his house and attempt to break inside, which is where the gameplay begins...
sound good? it was more of a life story of the main protagonist than a game plot, but yeah, what do you guys think? i might try to find a game fansite or something where i can write up the full story, features, gameplay, weapons, clothes etc if anyone likes my idea
Answer: Hmm... cool idea actually. I just gave myself an idea! Is it ok if I write my own GTA plot? Ok...
It takes place in 1987 set in San Andreas.
It starts out with a guy named Mac Welston. He was born in 1949 and raised in Liberty City with his mother Natasha, and his father was killed 3 days after he was born in a plane crash on his way to San Andreas. The plane crashed right before it landed in the airport in Los Santos. His mother frequently was gone working at her job, and he was an only child so there was no one to see or no one to do anything with since he was still to young to go out on his own. In middle school because his mother had never told him the rules of life he started smoking and drinkinhg and all because his friends said it was cool, and in high school he joined a gang called "The Rezidents of LC" he ended up being a bad kid. He grafitied everywhere and caused trouble and his mother didn't do a thing.
When he turned 20 he was drafted to the army and fought in it for 4 years. He fought in 'nam and was a war hero at one point but then he killed 3 of his fellow troops from an alcoholic rage. He was sent to jail for 15 years. When he got out he learned his mother had been assassinated by a man from Los Santos in 1986. Just 1 year before he was released.
Then, he went to San Andreas to find his mother's killer (I know it sounds a little bit like CJ :P) but then when he got there he got distracted by how he thought it was so "amazing" there. This is where you start playing. You meet a guy named Richard Burgen who tells you he knows where your mother's murderer is. At the time Mac had just asked him where he was, but since Rich was drunk, he said he knew even thought he didn't really have any idea. You eventually end up killing Richard in one of the later missions because Richard betrays you and tries to kill you. You then meet up with your old friend Marc from the gang you were in, and he claims he moved out to San Andreas for "fun" he shows you how to be cool, and aim for the kill.
That's when everything goes wrong. I'll try and make more up later. I liked your story though. You could mention it to rockstar.

Do you agree that the Pilot of the plane that landed in the Hudson River is a hero who saved many lives?
According to what i heard the Pilot feared he wouldnt be able to make it back to the Airport so he made a fast decision & landed on the Hudson River. Last i heard no one was hurt. This is the link to the live footage if anyone wants to check it out.

NEW YORK – A US Airways plane crashed into the Hudson River on Thursday afternoon after striking a bird that disabled two engines, sending passengers fleeing for safety in the frigid waters, a government official says. Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Laura Brown says the US Airways Flight 1549 had just taken off from LaGuardia Airport enroute to Charlotte, N.C., when the crash occurred in the river near 48th Street in midtown Manhattan.
Brown says the plane, an Airbus 320, appears to have hit one or more birds.
The plane was submerged in the icy waters up to the windows. Rescue crews had opened the door and were pulling passengers in yellow life vests from the plane. Several boats surrounded the plane, which appeared to be slowly sinking.
Government officials do not believe the crash is related to terrorism.
"There is no information at this time to indicate that this is a security-related incident," Homeland Security spokeswoman Laura Keehner said. "We continue to closely monitor the situation which at present is focused on search and rescue."
New York City firefighters and the U.S. Coast Guard are responding to the crash. It was not immediately clear if there were injuries.
"I saw what appeared to be a tail fin of a plane sticking out of the water," said Erica Schietinger, whose office windows at Chelsea Piers look out over the Hudson. "All the boats have sort of circled the area. ... I cant tell whats what at this point.

Answer: Yes in deed!
Most folks would panic and wouldn't know what to do, but he handled it like a pro. Look at all those people standing on the wings of the airplane, even they weren't too scared. Everyone was standing comly and waiting for the boats to arrive.

Coast Guard Rescues 2 From Sinking Plane Off California Coast ...
Two people have been rescued from a sinking plane that crashed into the ocean off California's central coast.
I need help finding errors in my Reserch paper.?
In 1914, Sir Ernest Shackletons set out on an expedition to Antarctica. His goal being the first to explore and cross the entire continent on foot. With a crew of 28 men they departed off the shore of South Georgia on their ship Endurance. They ended up being stranded on the ice. How could they ever survive?
The three hundred ton ship Endurance took on supplies, sixty nine sled dogs, and three life boats for the expedition. Encountering heavy pack ice which they battled for weeks weaving and plowing through the ice with their steam powered ship. Their ship was trapped by ice on January 18, 1915. Trying to break up the ice in front of the ship was pointless it was just to thick. They spent the rest of the day removing ice from in behind of the Endurance trying to slowly back it out. But over night, while they stayed on board, they lost their progress when the ship was caught in the ice.
They were stuck approximately one hundred miles or one days worth of sailing from Antarcticas coast. The crew dealt with the harsh weather of temperatures of -30 degrees Fahrenheit to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. They decided to move on during their voyage in the Spring when the ice would part from around the Endurance. Wading out until Spring, they did daily chores varying from scrubbing floors, chopping ice from the ship, or hunting for food.
On October 27, 1915 the Endurance starts to buckle from the enormous amount of pressure. The ice started to break apart the Endurance like a twig. Now sinking into the Weddell Sea, the men did all they could do to salvage what they could from the ship. Now not having the ship as shelter from all of Antarcticas harsh weather. They bundle up in their wool sleeping bags which ended up freezing over night like a rock and having to sleep in five tents with linens so thin you could see the moon. Hunting seals, penguins , and shot the sled dogs for food. Doing everything they can to do to survive.
As the snow melted from beneath them, they sailed off in their three life boats drifting a hundred and fifty mile to Elephant Island. Now finally reaching the island they make a makeshift shelter out the two of the life boats sitting on stone walls. Killing seals for food and burning the blubber oil for light. Shackleton had now decided he would have to try to reach South Georgia. Only knowing that it was over eight hundred miles away. The crew started water proofing one of the life boats with the blubber of the seals and from the salvaged the mass from the Endurance they made a sail. James Wolsey, the captain of the Endurance was now going to be their navigator. Taking along four other men besides Shackleton and the Captain they set out to sea April 24, 1915.
Now fighting high winds and rough seas, Wolsey used a tool called a sextant to navigate their journey to South Georgia, he was only able to take four sightings which made it very hard to stay on course. As he crouched to the bottom of the boat he penciled out the math. May 10, 1915 they landed safely on the shore of Cape Rosa. The men set camp as Shackleton planed out their route over the mountains to reach the Stromness station. May 20, 1915 Shackleton and three other men crossed the mountains walking non stop for thirty six hours covering twenty two miles arriving at the station. As they walked towards the station they saw the stations manager. Being dressed in rags they were not being recognized by him. The manager called out "Who the hell are you?" "My name is Shackleton." The Whalers let them in with open arms.
After reuniting with the other men on the other side of the island they had to make plans to save the rest of the twenty two crew on Elephant Island. Shackleton make three rescue attempts but was not successful until August 30, 1915 when they were loaned a tug by the Chilean government. On Elephant Island the tug was spotted and they castaways ran out onto the beach. Shackleton with his binoculars counted the crew mates. “They are all there,” he said. All the men were saved and returned to home while World War I raged on.
During this time of crisis they all worked together to keep each other alive. Stood up to the elements that were thrown at them and succeeded at their goal to return home alive. Staying on a continent with no civilization was tough on them but they made the best out of the worst.
Answer: I can try to help you, at least with the grammatical part, I don't know how helpful I can be on the actual content, because I don't know a lot about the actual subject, but here goes:
In 1914, Sir Ernest Shackleton's set out on an expedition to Antarctica, his goal being the first to explore and cross the entire continent on foot. With a crew of 28 men they departed off the shore of South Georgia on their ship, which was called "Endurance". They ended up being stranded on the ice and many people have wondered how they could ever survive.
The 300-ton ship Endurance took on supplies, 69 sled dogs, and three life boats for the expedition. Encountering heavy pack ice, which they battled for weeks, they weaved and plowed through the ice with their steam powered ship. On January 18, 1915, their ship was trapped by ice. Trying to break up the ice in front of the ship was pointless because it was too thick. They spent the rest of the day removing ice from behind of the ship trying to slowly back it out. But throughout the night, while they stayed on board, they lost their progress when the ship was caught in the ice.
They were stuck approximately 100 miles, which was equivalent to one days' worth of sailing from Antarctica's coast. The crew dealt with the harsh weather of temperatures between -30 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit. They decided to move on during their voyage in the Spring when the ice would part from around the Endurance. Wading out until Spring, they performed daily chores such as scrubbing floors, chopping ice from the ship, and hunting for food.

As the snow melted from beneath them, they sailed off in their three life boats drifting 150 miles to Elephant Island. When they reached the island they made a makeshift shelter out the two of the life boats sitting on stone walls. They killed seals for food and burned the blubber oil for light. On May 10, 1915, they landed safely on the shore of Cape Rosa. The men set camp as Shackleton planed out their route over the mountains to reach the Stromness station. On May 20, 1915, Shackleton and three other men crossed the mountains, walking non stop for 36 hours covering 22 miles arriving at the station. As they walked towards the station they saw the stations manager. Being dressed in rags they were not being recognized by him.
The manager called out "Who the hell are you?"
"My name is Shackleton.", said Shackleton
The Whalers welcomed them with open arms.
After reuniting with the other men on the other side of the island, they had to make plans to save the rest of the 22 member crew on Elephant Island. NOTES: Overall, I thought your report was very interesting, but here are a few writing tips:
1) usually numbers are not written out unless they are very small numbers, but when you are using numbers to identify things such as addresses, amounts or large numbers, you should write the actual number
2) Make sure your sentences always contain verbs
3) when you are quoting someone, always begin the quote with a new paragraph, and identify the speaker
4) Try to avoid using analogies, such as 'break apart the Endurance like a twig'
I hope this helps

Are survival suits safe ?
Tragic accident recently where two crewmembers were killed when a Zodiac-type inflatable turned over, trapping them underneath. One was an experienced SCUBA diver.
Speculation on my part, but I believe they were wearing full survival suits and the accident happened in deep water, albeit turbulent and fast-moving which is why the boat went over. So I suspect they were trapped underneath by the buoyancy in the suits while prevented from finding air pockets by the extreme turbulence. I would not expect an experienced SCUBA diver to panic merely from being wet, upside-down and in the dark without air.
How difficult is it to swim in one of these suits ?
As I recall, on aircraft we are told not to inflate life jackets until after exiting the plane because they make it harder to escape.
Im sure survival suits work well if you fall safely overboard and dont get picked up for a few hours. Im just wondering if they are the best gear to wear if your job is to rescue people from sinking ships, and so might have to manouver underwater.
Answer: Could it be they were wearing work suits, they are flotation suits but not waterproof like a survival suit. Being trapped under a vessel in rough waters I could think of many ways that could be fatal. Being beaten by the vessel itself in rough seas comes to mind. You can move in these suits but not very well. And a survival suit is like wearing a one man raft. My thought is they were severely injured after capsizing and it just got worse for them.

Is My Nuclear War Simulation Accurate?
Ok,
I made this simulation by myself. It is meant to simulate an all-out nuclear war between NATO and Russia. To stop anyone from telling me this again, I did base some of this on Threads.
1) Russia starts moving convoys into a foreign country for defence purposes, e.g. Iran.
2) Germany reports suspicious behaviour to NATO.
3) United States is angry with Russia and asks them to cease what they are doing.
4) Russia refuses and later on, a US submarine goes missing in the middle pacific.
5) US blames Russia.
6) Germany reports that the Russians have started a military base in Iran.
7) United States is furious with Russia and demands that they move out as soon as possible.
8) US carrier sunk in persian gulf.
9) US send troops into Iran in an attempt to move the Russians out.
10) The United Kingdom sends troops in to reinforce their commitment to NATO.
11) Russia has no response.
12) Serious damage caused to a Russian cruiser when it collides with a US destroyer.
13) Russia is furious.
14) US sets and ultimatum to Russia demanding that all US and Russian forces are to be moved out of Iran.
15) US ultimatum expires:
US bomber jets attack russian base with non-nuclear weapons
Russia responds with a single nuclear-tipped air defence missile
Many US planes lost
US respond with a single battlefield nuclear weapon on Russias base
Exchange stops
15) All NATO associated countries (and some countries of the EU) are put on red alert:
In the UK the Protect and Survive videos are played and booklets are distributed.
In the US many air-attack drills are put into action.
16) Many anti-Russian demonstrations are held in the US and many riots take place in Germany.
17) 08.00: Russia launches at NATO.
18) 08.30: Missiles are detected over Europe, Britain and parts of NATO irrupt into panic.
19) 08.35: Single warhead explodes high above North Sea
Energy pulse burns out many electrical systems
Massive damage to communications across Britain and north-west Europe
08.37: First missile salvo hits NATO military targets in Britain and Europe
In the UK blast casualties between two and a half and nine-million.
At the same time in the US (03.37), sirens are sounding and the first missile salvos start hitting minutes after sirens are sounded.
First salvo blast casualties in the US are five to thirteen million.
20) Nuclear exchanges escalate and NATO launches back at Russia.
21) Second salvo from Russia hits priority economic targets:
Communications
Energy
Steel
Chemicals
East-West exchange: 3000 megatons, 210 megatons total fall on UK, 1000 megatons on the US, another 300 megatons spread around Europe, Russia receives 1490 megatons.
Two-thirds of houses in US and Britain within possible fire zones.
21) Fallout imminent, fire-fighting and rescue attempts unlikely.
22) Many die from instant effects and many short-term survivors die from fallout.
23) About 14 days after the attack, the risk from fallout passes and survivors go on a run for food and clean water.
24) A global nuclear winter descends on the earth and many crops fail to grow
Many starved or are forced to eat rats
25) First and subsequent harvests poor:
Running out of fertilisers
Low on agrochemicals
Crops survive but lack of sunlight means poor growth.
26) One year after attack. Skies become clearer
Returning sunlight now heavier with ultra-violet light.
27) Cataracts widespread:
Higher risk of cancers leukaemias
28) Second and subsequent harvests:
No fertilisers
No agrochemicals
Crops susceptible to viruses, diseases and insects.
29) 3-8 years after attack:
Population reaches minimum.
UK numbers may decline to mediaeval levels
Possibly between 4 and 11 million
Numbers around the world decline drastically
30) 16 years after attack:
NATO and Russia have made very little recovery. Some efforts are made to re-build towns and villages but most fail.
30) No country wins.
Answer: Play the game DEFCON by Introversion to simulate the actual Nuclear Exchange.
Play the game Fallout or any of it's sequels to simulate the aftermath.
[Edit: I suppose I didn't actually answer your' question. Yes, your simulation is realistic.]

What do you think of my story?
Stranded on an Island
One day, a family together with many passengers were riding on a ship. Suddenly, the ship hit an iceberg. Water entered the ship. “Everyone, jump out of the water, this ship will surely sink” the captain told all the passengers. Everyone began to panic as the water quickly swallowed the ship away. A few grabbed several small boats and paddled across the ocean towards the land. Some swam their way “Stay here, we’ll get our luggage” the parents told the children. They patiently waited when the part of the ship where the children were standing on was submerged underwater. “Here’s an empty boat” Brian, one of the children said. They swam towards the boat. “We need to wait for our parents” Jane, Brian’s sister said. “The problem is we can’t recognize them from the crowd of adults who wanted to get their luggage” Brian said. Slowly, the waves washed them away from the ship. “Let’s paddle towards the ship” Jane said. They tried but still the waves pushed them away from the ship. “Let’s paddle to a different direction, there’s a shark on our path” Jane said. After an hour, they were in an island. The two children went down the boat. “Put the boat on the shore, we could use that to go home” Jane said. “This is hopeless, nobody lives in this uninhabited island and we might never get rescued” Jane said. “I’m sure a passing plane or ship could help us” Brian said. “Let’s eat those coconuts and bananas on those trees” Jane said. They ate the fruits in order to satisfy their hunger. “Let’s use my phone to contact our parents” Jane said. Jane tried to contact her parents but there was no signal on the island. “There’s a ship over there” Brian said. They waved at the ship. The ship came closer when Jane told Brian to stop. “It’s a pirate ship, the pirates could harm us” Jane told Brian. “Let’s hide on top of the tree so the pirates won’t see us” Brian said. The pirates were not able to find them when they went in the island. “There’s a plane there” Brian said. They waved at the plane but did not help them. “They’re too high up there, they cannot notice us from down here” Jane said. “Let’s try our boat and paddle” Brian suggested. “It might take months before we reach our country and go home” Jane said. “That might be a terrible idea, a big whale might swallow us or stormy weather could make us sick and sink our boat” Brian said. “Look! There’s a lighthouse over there, the person inside could help us” Jane said. They waved when the light was pointed at them, so the person in the lighthouse would rescue them. “I guess nobody lives inside the lighthouse, that’s why nobody approaches us here” Brian concluded. “Will we ever get home? The tragedy ruined our trip and now we might be stranded here forever” Jane said. “At least we spent our vacation in this beautiful but isolated island, don’t lose hope” Brian said. The next morning, Jane was awakened when she heard a noise above her. She got up and saw a helicopter flying above her. “Brian, this could be our chance to get rescued” Jane said while she shook Brian to wake him up. “Finally, after all the trouble, someone is here to save us” Brian said. They waved at the helicopter and the helicopter went down and landed on the island. A policeman was riding on the helicopter. “Ride in my helicopter” the policeman told them. “Thank you very much for saving us here, would you take us home to our address?” Jane said. “Sure, My job here is to find stranded people and fetch them back to their families” the policeman said. Jane gave him their address and the policeman fetched them there. “Jane, Brian I’m so glad you’re safe” the mother said. “We were worried for you might have died when the ship sank” the dad said. “How about our vacation?” Brian asked. “We’ll ride a plane instead cause it’s safer and faster” the mother told them.
