Atomic bomb debate help ?
I m doing a debate about the atomic bomb and I m on against dropping the bomb side. But I need some strong points to make it show that the US wasnt justified to use the bomb. I already have: 1. Japan has no allies and they were a defeated nation.(my teacher said that this point is weak) 2.The bomb didnt save lives 3. Japan was going to surrender.
I need good sources and a backup explanation for all of the 3 points. Also I need help creating a dramatic scene when the bomb was dropped and how innocent lives were lost. And if you can, can you give me an idea of what questions they are going to ask me and what questions should I ask the affirmative. Please Help Me ! I really need to win this.
Answer: Firstly, understand that I raise following stuffs just because the question is requesting information support for “against dropping the bomb” side.
I am also able to produce stuffs which support “on dropping the bomb” side.
1. Yes, this point is weak. I don’t think you should mention this point.
2. The bomb did save lives, who were military. That is to say, the bomb killed more than 200,000 civil people in order to save soldiers’ lives.
It’s not easy to justify indiscrimination bloodshed in order to save soldiers.
In the debate, the guy in the other side may say “Atomic bombs saved not only U.S. soldiers’ lives, but also potential victims of Japanese civilian.”
I believe it contains one part of the truth. But you can say; Was Bombs killing more than 200,000 civil people an appropriate means to save “potential victims”? Was there possibility that the bombs killed more civil people than “potential victims”?
For reference, the total number of Japanese civilian people who were killed by U.S. indiscrimination attacks was around 800,000. That means one-fourth victims were killed by two atomic bombs.
Off course, Japanese had killed so many civilian people in China and Korea, so it is probably true that they should have been punished. Much the same might be said about U.S. Navy killed 200,000 to 1,500,000 civilian Filipino in 1900-1913, just thirty years before WWII.
3. In 1945 July, Japanese government deliberately ignored the Potsdam Declaration because it would try to ask Stalin to mediate the reconciliation based on Soviet–Japanese Neutrality Pact. But Stalin already had agreed upon breaking the neutrality pact and a declaration of war against Japan at Yalta Conference, February 1945. In fact, Soviet Union did invade Japan just two days after the first atomic bomb in Hiroshima, August 8th 1945.
If Japan, at late July 1945, had realized that Soviet Union would break Soviet-Japanese Neutrality Pact, then it might accept the Potsdam Declaration before the atomic bomb in Hiroshima.
You can say there was a high possibility that Japan would accept a surrender without actual use of two atomic bombs, if:
(a) Japanese government should have been informed that Stalin already agreed upon breaking the neutrality pact and a declaration of war against Japan at Yalta Conference, and/or
(b) U.S. should have taken place nuclear weapon demonstration on a barren island or desert, or at sea, for example, 10 miles away from Tokyo. (See Franck Report mentioned below)
Both (a) and (b) have some disadvantages in view of politics. And your question is “which is more important, politics disadvantage or 200,000 people lives?”
This is definitely what-if evaluation. But so is the notion “the bomb saved lives.” Only actual fact that we knew is “200,000 civil people were killed by the bombs.”
In addition 1) to 3) mentioned above, you can raise another point for discussion;
- The usage of atomic bombs like Hiroshima and Nagasaki is legal or not under International --- -
Humanitarian Law or Law of War at the present time. It may matter little, because whether it is legal or illegal should be judged under the then-current law, not under the present law. But if the use of atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki does not commit an outrage against humanity even under at the present law, then it would strongly support the guys who are on “for dropping the bomb.” The truth is that such usage is clearly against humanity at the present international law.
- U.S. government should have asked its citizens whether it would use the atomic bomb or not in advance.
You can find “Franck Report”, which was a document signed by several nuclear physicists recommending that U.S. not use the atomic bombs against Japan, June 1945. It proposed a demonstration of the atomic bomb be made before the eyes of representatives of all of the United Nations, on a barren island or desert.
- Even if the dropping the bomb should be necessary, can the second bomb in Nagasaki be justified? It was dropped just three days after the first bomb in Hiroshima. Three days.
The seconds bomb blew off 70,000 lives.

What all does John McCain have to do tonight to win the debate?
According to polls, between 5-9% of likely voters havent decided who they will vote for. Obviously, this is the group that McCain needs to win over in order to have a change in this election.
So, what does he need to say tonight? Do you think hes going to be able to pull off a win?
Answer: The polls the polls the polls what does the fortune teller say about who's gonna win?
The race isn't even close to over, these all hallowed polls everyone talks about all the time have NEVER been correct NEVER.
My one wish about tonight's debate would be one of these mutha phuckas actually answer just one phucking question, just one, just a legitimate answer and not mumbo-jumbo asskissing rhetoric, that would be refreshing and if Obama(peace be unto him) was the guy it might actually make me vote for his Government-Is-The-Answer-To-All-Your- Problems azz. Nah, never mind. If he suddenly became honest then he would expose all his Globalist ideals and that would just make me hate him.

Adoption Debate! My family really needs your help!?
Heres the situation,
My family is an extremely close family, we all live within a 2 mile radius and there are alot of us, about 30 or more. We are always supporting each other and helping out whenever possible, theres always a "dud" in everyones family but that doesnt change our love for them. My cousin has 4 little boys, all being between 1 and 7, he got mixed up in some bad news and him and his wife(now ex wife) lost custody of all children forever. 2 of the children were able to be taken in by his mother(my aunt) and the middle child went with his other grandmother. the youngest though, who was just a few months old at the time, was not able to go with either side of the family due to family situations going on at the time. therefore he was put in foster care until we were able to support him and take him back into our family. Only a couple months after he was put into foster care, my other cousin made the decision to take him in and adopt him so he is able to grow up with his brothers and family, where he belongs. Her and her husband are college graduates, live right down the street from his brothers and are successful, loving people. They lost a baby girl due to natural causes around the time they were trying to adopt the baby, the court denied there request because they felt that my cousins were grieving over their lost child and was looking to replace them, which in no means is true at all. Its been over a year now and we are still fighting for the baby, the foster parents are now trying to adopt him and take him from our family, they have no close relatives, and are lesbians. dont get me wrong, Im not dissing gay rights or anything, it just adds to how insane this all is. the DHHR ruled in the foster parents favor, but then a bunch of other stuff happened and someone of higher power overruled the case in favor of my cousins, they were supposed to get the baby within 10 days of the order. The DHHR never once made an effort to get the baby to my cousins. The 10 days pasted and we made multiple phone calls and took action ourself. the law states that family gets first rights, but everyone we talk to says they cant force DHHR to follow their OWN laws. We protested and made a big scene. It was made clear that the foster parents have multiple connections with people in the DHHR and other places, and all of our court trials have been biased. My family has contacted our governor and the capitals DHHR. We need all the support and advice we can get. We dont know what else to do. We just want the baby to grow up with his family and his brothers where he truly belongs. the foster parents even recently changed his name which is just confusing him more. If any of you have any ideas please contact me. This is breaking our hearts and we need to win this fight. The government is not following its own laws and we are not giving up unitl the baby is with its family.
We are trying to get ahold of the tv show "Find my family" but we arent having much luck, if you have any information or anyone we can contact for help it would be GREATLY appreciated. thank you so much.
The local TV stations are aware of the situation, we held a protest, but no one has made any effort to do anything and we are running out of time.
We have an attorney and stuff. Nothing we are doing is working..
The baby was with us for the first 3 or so months of his life, the foster parents have had him for abour 12 months, but he has gotten to visit us and bond with his brothers, him and his brothers are all jusst a year or so apart and it is best for him to grow up with a loving family and relationships with his brothers.
We did a writs of mandate, we called the police, im not leaving anything out. if you want to be an ass dont say anything.

Daily Kos: The upcoming "debates" and what they will say about the ...
Debates among us are nothing new. They have had many forms. Yet this year they are happening in a context that is rich in underlying meaning for any student of the human mind. For example, just to punctuate how very wierd the context is, ... Yet we know that a large part of the republican party would relish such a debate and believe the pro side could win. ... Now, even though it is not totally symmetrical, can you do the next most obvious rational act of thinking?
media stories 2012 for debating need help!!?
Im doing a debate against another school and when we get there they give us three topics to choose from but what they are overall based on is media. Im not to sure what has been happening lately with the media I heard about the newspaper things and thats it. Could you guys please please help me Im so confused I really want to win this debate. Thanks
Also Im from Australia Sydney
Answer: Read the headlines from as many different media sources you can think of. Then read the actual stories themselves. Try to recognize the difference in opinions and form your own. The internet is a great source of this kind of information. It's called studying, or knowing wtf your talking about. Good luck, your going to need it because you don't have a clue about what is going on around the world. Most people on debate teams join because that's what it's all about. Did you think you were going to debate about the best way to catch fish, or fix a flat tire?

Why do people want to vote for Obama?
In my business class everyday we do a ten minute debate on the McCain vs. Obama thing.
Heres what I learned so far..
Obama wants to tax the rich. Well, this wont work because the rich will just hide their tax money in tax shelters, so Obama wont get the money he expects, and hell need to get it from somewhere.
Where would he get it from afterwards?
Citizens!!!!
This WILL ruin several small businesses.
The kids in my class are so stupid, all they can say against McCain is...
1. McCain thinks hes so great because he saved hundreds of Americans! Well, soldiers are trained to do that!
Heres what I say: "They might all be trained to do that, but will they?" or Ill also say, "have you been in the military?" (hell say no)
2. They also say something stupid about him owning 10 houses, this is what I say in response: "Nobody seemed to give a crap when John Kerry owned 6 or 7 houses or whatever..."
3. McCain cant use the internet! This is my response: "Okay?... where are the wits in that?"
So give me some things to say against Obama that support McCain, thanks! I need to win this debate, I always win!!!
GO McCAIN! THE TRUE AMERICAN HERO!
What I said makes perfect sense.
In the 1950s they tried taxing the rich, and it failed.
And I cant believe Obama thinks that giving money to some communities and doing some photo shoots in ghettos makes-up for what McCain went through in Vietnam.
And yes I go to school, in fact, I have a GPA of 3.6.
Why do I think McCain is so great?
1. Hell cut taxes where he can.
2. Hell keep the Government out of the economy so it can take care of itself.
Whats Obama gonna do for you?
All I hear you democrats say is, "hell make a change!"
Thats alll Ive heard.
And by the way, I have 5 cousins fighting in Iraq right now, and soon its gonna be my turn. So dont even try to say that.
And dont call me an idiot.
McCain is lying? Give me a few examples.
And too busy spending cash? Like Obama isnt?
And another thing to add, wasnt Obama a part of that paster church or whatever?
That one guy who said, "It shouldnt be God bless America! It should be God damn America!"
Yeah, shows how much Obama loves America after being in that church for 20 years.
Hey Buddys.
Did you know that McCain is different than George Bush?
You all keep saying Obama will change the country, well, how?
Answer: Do you know who's going to be paying the taxes most of the time?
The people who work their butts off to make what they do. They don't need some stupid taxes. That is ridiculous!
If I was old enough to vote, I would be voting McCain. Why would anyone vote Obama? No offense, but what's so great about him?
Also, McCain doesn't own 10 houses, his wife does. Why does is matter anyways?
I'm sorry that I can't help you out more than that; I haven't really researched much, and my memory's not all that great about what I've heard on the news. I just try to remember why McCain's would be better for our country than somebody who has absolutely no sense. No offense to anyone who supports Obama. HIH!

Types of pregnancies that can go wrong, Pregnancy Disorders?
I dont know, like I am doing a debate and this one girl wants to make it illegal to have an abortion. In order to win this debate I need a type of pregnancy, kind of like tubal pregnancy, that has a 100% chance of both of them dying. The mother and child. What kind of pregnancy disorders I guess are there
Answer: Look at ectopic pregnancies where the baby starts developing outside the uterus. It can blow a fallopian tube, be incredibly painful and dangerous. Another high risk pregnancy I can think of is severe eclampsia (threatens both mother and baby),
You could look at Down's Syndrome and the outcome this has for the child - it has led to a lot of elective abortions in recent years as tests have improved to show the likelihood of a mother carrying a DS baby.
You could also call a medical practice, or even an abortion clinic - they should be able to give you more info. Another track you could take is that of women being raped - should they be made to carry the reminder of their rape? What about women pregnant through incest (family member raping them). All very controversial of course. Good luck with your debate :-)

Why dont liberals want us to win in Iraq? Are they even Americans?
Seriously. The time to debate why, when, how, etc. is over. You would think as Americans they would rally around our soldiers and do all they can to win! What happened between today and the WWII generation?! This crap would never have happened during WWII. All this debate over Iraq could have easily gone on during that war - should we be fighting, etc., but it didnt. Thank God this dumb internet wasnt around. The entire country sacrificed everything to win. We need to do that again. Boil it down. Are you an American or not? Thats the only debate any liberal should be having - with themselves.
Answer: I'm a Democrat, a Christian, an ex-liberal-now-moderate, and a US Army veteran from OIF2.
Like all Americans, in 2003 when the President gave his State of the Union address, I was very impressed. He had names, dates, places, and all manner of specifics. On top of that, he claimed the CIA and MI6 confirmed the intelligence that Saddam Hussein wanted and attempted to get enriched uranium from Nigeria. Who else saw that speech? Very impressive, indeed. Yet we were all tricked. Because as the weeks (and years) have dragged on, no further evidence of nuclear weapons or any other illegal weapons have been found.
When I told the Iraqis I was hanging out with one day while in Baghdad that we hadn't come to save them from Saddam, we were actually there because we believed they had nuclear weapons, their eyes became as big as dinner plates.
From that ill and shaky start afterwards, and the failure to secure the peace, I have been against this war. We have wasted precious resources and destroyed scores of lives in what can only be viewed as one man's vendetta (the President's) to eliminate another man, a man his father couldn't reasonably get rid of while he was President.
Iraq cannot be won militarily at this point. I was well-aware of the slide towards the current civil war between Shiites and Sunnis as early as the summer of 2004. The solution to peace involves diplomacy on all sides and a national program of reconciliation. The current plan to add about 21,500 troops into Baghdad will be largely ineffective without diplomacy. But conservatives refuse to acknowledge because of the same muddled, illogical thinking that caused the posing of this question.
Like all like-minded liberals, I question the pretext the war was based on, and see that we are already losing by attrition, and just want a different solution. Calling anyone "not American" is hate speech.
Still don't believe me? Contact me via e-mail, and I can put you in touch with an Army recruiter today. After 9 weeks of Basic Training, and 10 weeks of Advanced Training, (or 14 weeks total if you want to be combat arms) you will be sent to a unit that is deploying soon to Iraq, if not sent directly there. That would be some support and you'd be "sacrificing everything". You'll see what I've seen then.
I dare you.

How to win a debate | 2KnowMySelf
What you need to do in order to win a debate ... Lots of people never win debates because they don't put the belief system of the other person in their minds ...
So Who Do you think won the debate? And is your answer based on something you already believed in and really ?
didnt need debating.
For example I clearly knew that for me Obama was going to win the Iraq debate because I was for a withdraw, but I really didnt like or support the idea of a great big invasion in Afghanistan and I really dont like the idea of invading Pakistan as well. So I dont know. Stopping a war (that I do want) but starting another one is just not appealing
Also does everyone think they should kill Ben Laden when they find him? Nobody thinks they should try him or make it look just? The reason I ask is if you think killing Ben Laden is the answer then why do you think its wrong to torture "terrorists" both would be without any justice involved, and I cant say that Terrorists dont deserve torture.
Also what else did you think was a win. I had a bit of difficulty who truly supported the middle class for example Obama Mentioned the tax breaks for the rich (and top 5%) which I do not support but at the same time McCain said Obama did something for the gas companies which I think is horrible.
In terms of the bail out I think there exactly the same, and I definately think that in terms Of Iran we need deplomocy.
What do you guys think?
Please keep this at a Kosher level and not verbal violence. Please discuss why you think the issues discussed would be better for yourself or your family or the country
And lastly do you vote on person "selfish" gain or Country first and most important gain
hahha 3cximhlc thanks for the star. I didnt accept that one. Yeah I know I have my bias like anybody (although I wish we didnt) but I try and work with it.

4th amendment homework, help please! interestingly tricky!?
So at school they gave us this homework assignment:
The teacher gave us a sheet of paper with our names on it and a number....
sooo the number i got (3) is the number of a "pretend" court case.
Okay so heres my case (remember its fake, the teacher made it up)
Jake Smith goes to William Jr. High School, in Florida. Because of his so called "weird personality and clothing style", the assistant principal (or vice principal) decided to search his locker and she found a knife with a gang sign on it. There was also a note next to the knife for his ex-girlfriend explaining why he was going to murder her. Jake was kicked out of the school, but he feels this search violated his 4th amendment right.
okay....so im representing the School District in this "case" at school and i have to write a 7-13 minute debate arguing my case. so my question is: what can i argue? you know? i kinda agree that the school violated the right, but i cant just give up. i need to win this debate. please, what can i argue and prove that the school was right to do this?
HELP!!!!!!! please and thank you!
P.S: the guy defending Jake Smith i belive has it easy (he can argue about how it violates his right, blah blah blah....and i think he has like a lawyer family...so im pretty much screwed if i dont think of something)
Answer: Minors do not have the same rights as do adults. They also do not have the same punishments. The school has every right to do whatever is necessary to protect the rest of the under age children in their care. For the school not to do this would be the crime of Neglect.

You said it yourself. The foster parents are connected with people in DHHR. They have "pulled strings" to get their own way despite laws and policies to the contrary.
I don't have anything to offer. Perhaps it's time to get a lawyer?

Seriously, what does Sen. McCain need to do to win a debate?
He lost the first debate becuse Sen. Obama was able to "hold his own."
That was the reason why the pundits and "experts" say that Sen. Obama won the first debate. He never did have an advantage, he was able to tie Sen. McCain so that gave him the "win."
Now, second debate.
Sen. McCain lost the debate because he "tied." He didnt do anything to "stop his slide."
So, now Sen. McCain has "lost" both debates even though every expert and pundit agrees that they men "tied."
"Nevertheless, there is a growing consensus among the pundits that McCain lost the debate, not because of what he did but because of what he didnt do: He didnt create the game-changing moment his campaign needed to alter the trajectory of the race."

What exactly does Sen. McCain have to do to win a debate in this country? Obviously tying is a loss for him and somehow a win for Sen. Obama.
My prediction for the third debate...Sen. Obama win, "because they tied."
According to the logic of one answer Sen. Obama lost the first poll because he was BEHIND in the polls when it took place.
If Sen. McCain cant tie because he is behind, how come Sen. Obama did?
I am seriously curious people and nobody has answered.
It is not my "premise" that a tie is a win. Hence the quotation remarks.
I am merely saying what has been said already. I would give sources but every source for the first debate would be entirely too many and it is common knowledge. The second debate I did provide a source as it is more recent and perhaps not as commom knowledge.
Leave the partisan politics out and answer.
Answer: The answer is simple.....
It can be found by simply examining the history of media reporting......
Under Clinton when the stock market was XXX......it was reported as "on the verge of new record HIGHS".....the same data reported under Bush was seen as " indicating a possible slump in the market"
Has any media outlet.....besides maybe (?) FOX ....reported how historically any President / political party as unpopular as Bush / Republicans are..... the opposition candidate would be 30 to 40 points ahead in the polls..... yet McCain is almost tied with Obama.....was even ahead before the financial crisis (which McCain had less to do with than Obama)..... WHY ISN''T OBAMA 40 POINTS AHEAD?..... the media does not ask that...
Why has Obama tried so hard to tie Bush to McCains shirt tails.....because he wants to use Bush's unpopularity to HURT McCain.....even though it is clear to a blind man McCain is a true maverick.....his own party did not like him BECAUSE he did not follow them....
When there is a debate and it is obvious Obama did NOT win.....the media searches for excuses to make their "secret" choice the winner.....they say McCain should have done better to Obama wins the "tie"...... or Obama was the victim of bad polling numbers because of the Clinton /Obama shoot out...so he really won by tieing ???
Get a clue McCain can NOT win a debate in the media unless Obama steps on his tongue BIG..... he has stepped on his tongue several times but not big enough...... sadly the frustration is wearing on McCain..... the unfairness of the media is causing him to get angry....to lash out..... this combativeness hurts him......BUT I understand him.....he loves America so much ..... he has suffered so much for America..... it breaks his heart to see a person who is not only unfit for the office..... but will likely, if he carries out his agenda.....likely DESTROY America economically..... take the Presidency....
Obama is NOT an evil man.....just an inexperienced inept radical liberal filled with misguided good intensions..... He will be ten times the disaster of Carter.... Heaven protect us from inexperienced do gooders

Daily Kos: Romney blunders the debate expectations game
Even if Obama loses the debate, the campaign isn't talking about what they need to happen or need to do. That's intelligent. That's how you set the expectations game. You don't say you need to win or lose or that it will make ...

Answer: Which part of the debate are you referring to.
Regarding issues, knowledge and plans it will be Biden.
The swimmsuit portion will go to Palen
The glamour and etiquette portion will go to Palen
Style - Palen
Talen - Biden
What do you plan to do as VP question - Biden
And the new Mr/Miss VP winner will be Joe Biden.
I now picture Biden with tears flowing down his face bending down to have his tiara placed on his head.
Ooops, I got carried away.
