Why are muslims afraid of 911 backlash when they are in liberal big cities?
NEW YORK (AP) -- There is the dread of leaving the house that morning. People might stare, or worse, yell insults.
Prayers are more intense, visits with family longer. Mosques become a refuge.
Eight years after 9/11, many U.S. Muslims still struggle through the anniversary of the attacks. Yes, the sting has lessened. For the younger generation of Muslims, the tragedy can even seem like a distant memory. "Time marches on," said Souha Azmeh Al-Samkari, a 22-year-old student at the University of Dayton in Ohio.
Yet, many American Muslims say Sept. 11 will never be routine, no matter how many anniversaries have passed.
Sarah Sayeed, who lives in the Bronx, said that for a long time, she hesitated before going out on the anniversary. The morning the World Trade Center crumbled, she rushed to her sons Islamic day school so they could both return home. The other women there warned that she should take off her headscarf, or hijab, for her own safety. She now attends an interfaith prayer event each Sept. 11, keeping her hair covered as always.
Answer: It's a shame we keep up religious steryotypes, blaming an entire religion for the acts of a very small minority

Whats your opinion on this "International burn a koran day"?
"Recently, a small Christian, evangelical group in Florida announced plans for a national "Burn a Koran Day", on September 11, 2010, the ninth anniversary of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks against the United States. The burning is being done as a protest against violent Islamic extremists. The lawyer in me says that they have the right to do this under the 1st Amendment of the Constitution. Like flag burning, this activity would fall under the protections that guarantee freedom of speech." -- I heard that many people havent heard of Islam until the 9/11 attack-- I cant find the right words to describe it but I feel sorry for those people.
Ive read that fifteen of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, one from Egypt (Atta), and one from Lebanon. (wikipedia) You do know that in our religion killing any person is haram except for war or self-defense.
Ask yourself this question. Whos to say that those hijackers.. were actually involved? Maybe it was all a set-up. Maybe it was all a plan for you guys to turn on muslims. Whos to say that the hijackers were even muslims anyways? There are alot of people who were born in the Middle East but arent muslims.. I wasnt really involved in this tragedy back then, but I am now. Arent there good and bad in this world? There are good muslims and bad muslim but the thing is -- it isnt about RELIGION that makes you bad, its the actual person..
Im sorry for everyone whos lost a relative, father, mother, son, daughter, granddaughter, grandson, grandfather, grandmother in the attack-- I swear I am tearing up while writing this... but burning our Holy Quran -- what do you think it will solve? How about actually reading it for once, you will learn a lot of things.. burning the precious words of Allah.. you dont know the consequences. Please I beg of you, if you care for your life.. just read it .... I am happy to be born in a muslim family and I hope that people who werent as fortunate as me .. would try and become a muslim or at least learn something about Islam instead of judging a book by its cover.
How about for once instead of beliving all those lies.. learn the truth for yourself - by yourself.
Peace be with you.
When I say consequences -- I do not mean in this life. I mean in the next.
-.-
Allah will not be pleased - I can guarantee you that.
Believe what you will - youre adult enough to ignore it? You havent even read it! You think youre mature? Ignoring? Nice.
Believe what you will - youre adult enough to ignore it? You havent even read it! You think youre mature? Ignoring? Nice.
Didnt they show that Bush video that he saw it on the news when it happened and he was devastated -- but it didnt even air it when he "said he saw it"? How is that not a set up?
Islam doesnt believe in killing -_- THINK ABOUT IT. If we would want to show peace to people, why the hell would muslims start a 9/11 attack? Wouldnt it prove that we are actually terrorists? Make you believe that?
Whoever was involved in the 9/11 attack.. surely wasnt a muslim. You dont see me blowing up cars, now do you? Its the same with Christians, for example. If people wanted other people to become christians.. they would show the good in the religion, right? Same goes for our religion-- not that we have anything bad in it.. but why would Islam plan this attack? To show that were good? Just think about it...
I didnt mean it in a "retaliating" way. I meant if you care about yourself- where youll end up and all. I live in my home where I was born, I assure you if you lived in the middle east.. I wouldnt say that to you.. jeez.
Allah is the only god. You seriously believe there are 360 gods? Im sorry, but thats just stupid..
The only good you would do in this world is by buying a Quran with your money.
I did not blame the whole world for this stupid international day, now did I? You just said it yourself-- "theyre just as wrong as individuals who blame all Muslims for 9/11".
Who said freedom is a good thing? If everyone was FREE to do ANYTHING, we would be barbarians.. now would we? What kind of freedom do you seek? Freedom to kill? Freedom from what, exactly? Freedom is also a delusion-- only freedom that exists is Heaven and to achieve Heaven is by reading the Holy Quran and believing their is only one God, which is Allah.
Before any people judge -- just read the Quran if you know whats good for you.
Just because you dont see it - doesnt mean you dont believe it.
This is all a test, dont you see? Tests to make our own choices-- good choices hopefully...
Allah is real and brought us into this world to see if we would believe. Believe in what we do not see. Believe There is no God but Allah.
Its all in the Holy Quran, just read it.. if you think that humans wrote the Quran - then you would discover "faults" since all humans make mistakes and you yourself - are human.
Allah dared humans who did not believe in the Holy Quran to try to write a sentence from his precious words -- no man succeeded.
Answer: I still think that America is way too lax in it's policies towards those outsiders who come in and want to lord it over the actual American born citizens. Yet our own laws prohibit discrimination against the freedoms our country provides; even for those antagonists. Therefore, in this case, I am compelled to say, "What's good for the goose, is good for the gander."
Yet Christ would tell me not to become muddled by these "worldly" affairs.
Jehovah God bless thee and make Himself known to thee.

Where were you on 9/11??????????
so now that the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is coming up soon, just curious in knowing what you guys were doing on this tragic day.
where were you guys and how old were you then?
well i was 9 at the time, on that tuesday morning i was getting ready to go to school, doing my usual routine, getting dress, eating breakfast, but i used to watch cartoons for a bit before i headed off,and when i turned it on, i saw one of the WTC, in smoke, at first i thought it was like a movie or something, but then i realized it wasnt. what i saw next was the second tower getting hit, i saw this Live, not knowing what was going on i was confused, people were running, and then the towers were collapsing.
i headed for school, and the teachers were all glued on their televisions and talking about it, i remember that my principals told us to go to the front of the school, and she explained the whole school what had happened, she cried. i went back home and i turned on the television and i remember them repeating the footage, people running and covered in dust, then i learned that they also attacked the pentagon, and how a fourth plane crashed in some fields.
im now 19 (20 this year) and i cant believe that it has been 10 years since that tragic day, i will never forget what i saw that morning.
Answer: I was in High School I believe I was in 11th grade, we were doing our class work when my teacher received a call to turn on the TV. When she turned the TV on I thought it was just another building on fire as usual but when they said it was WTCT everyone was in Shock!
I believe I was like at age 17 back then

Are Americans unsafe today because of terrorists or because they are loosing their civil liberties?
In a few days it will be the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001.
To begin; One would think that if a handful of Arabs managed to outwit not merely the CIA and FBI but all 16 US intelligence agencies, all intelligence agencies of The U.S. allies including Mossad, the National Security Council, the State Department, NORAD, airport security four times on one morning, air traffic control, etc., the President, Congress, and the media would be demanding to know how such an improbable event could occur!
Instead, the White House put up a wall of resistance to finding out, and Congress and the media showed little interest.
hmmm,.....why was that?
During the decade that has passed, numerous 9/11 Truth organizations have formed. There are Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, Pilots for 9/11 Truth, Scholars for 9/11 Truth, Remember Building 7.org, and a New York group which includes 9/11 families. These groups call for a real investigation.
The fact remains that the skepticism of a large number of knowledgeable experts has had no effect on the governments position other than a member of the Obama administration suggesting that the government infiltrate the 9/11 truth organizations in order to discredit them.
Surely the best way to discredit someone is to hold a live and public debate, where the liars or misguided, will be seen in all their glory as they fail to explain themselves.
The practice has been to brand experts not convinced by the governments case "conspiracy theorists."
I have often wondered, what do 1,500 architects and engineers have to gain from being ridiculed as conspiracy theorists? They certainly will never receive another government contract, and many surely lost business as a result of their "anti-American" stance. Their competitors must have made hay out of their "unpatriotic doubts."
Building 7 was not mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report,....why?
Let me be clear about my point. I am not saying that some black op group in the neoconservative Bush administration blew up the buildings in order to advance the neoconservative agenda of war in the Middle East. If there is evidence of a cover-up, it could be the government covering up its incompetence and not its complicity in the event.
Even if there were definite proof of government complicity, it is uncertain that Americans could accept it. Architects, engineers, and scientists live in a fact-based community, but for most people facts are no match for emotions.
My point is how un-inquisitive the executive branch, including the security agencies, Congress, the media, and much of the population are about the defining event of our time.
There is no doubt that 9/11 is the determinant event. It has led to a decade of ever expanding wars, to the shredding of the Constitution, and to a police state.
The US governments account of 9/11 is the foundation of the open-ended wars that are exhausting Americas resources and destroying its reputation, and it is the foundation of the domestic police state that ultimately will shut down all opposition to the wars.
Americans are bound to the story of the 9/11 Muslim terrorist attack, because it is what justifies the slaughter of civilian populations in several Muslim countries, and it justifies a domestic police state as the only means of securing safety from terrorists, who already have morphed into "domestic extremists" such as environmentalists, animal rights groups, and antiwar activists.
All a coincidence of course,...none of this was planned.
;)
But I ask you; are Americans today unsafe, because of terrorists and domestic extremists, or because they have lost their civil liberties and have no protection from unaccountable government power?
All thoughts welcome, even those I heartily expect will be full of name calling,...na nana na naaa naaa.
:)
Answer: Americans are far less safe today because of our very own foreign policy written by the culture of war and sponsored by the super rich who make billions of dollars off it and their NWO scheme . Wikileaks dumps a few thousand documents and is labeled a criminal , yet " international " businesses located in the US give over highly sensitive technology to foreigners in a " trade agreement " . See Chinese investments in Texas over the last 10 years . As for 9/11 , one cannot ignore the scientific evidence as to the destruction of the buildings . Most telling and hard to disprove is the accurate seismic events recorded that day . 2 planes - 4 seismic events . Recorded by the most accurate clock known to man . There was a lot the " commission " left out of which is eye wittiness testimony they refused to hear .

So, this Iman is "sad" that people want to protest outside his mosqueEspecially on an Islamic holy day. Was he upset about his people yelling abuse at a returning soldiers funeral, not content with that they also had banners reading "death to all British soldiers". The gormless racist police aloowed this, as the family of said soldier stood there crying over the body of their son being carried through the streets in his union jack covered coffin. And yes, some of the yelling muslims were from Harrow mosque."Everyone is equal infront of Allah" he says, excpet women, children animals and British soldiers."We must all be friends", quite right, so Im just off to yell abuse at an Islamic funeral, might take my banner, Ill see how I feel later.Police made 35 arrests in Birmingham, all white per chance? "Most of the community is happy with us" er WRONG.
A HARROW mosque leader says he is “sad” about plans for a 9/11 far-right protest outside its building.
A statement on the website of the far-right coalition the British Defence Leagues says the English Defence League (EDF) has organised a demonstration in front of the building, in Station Road, on September 11, and plans to make it a memorial event for the 2001 terrorist attacks.
The event will take place on a Friday, the Islamic holy day.
Ghulam Rabbani, general secretary of the mosque, said: “We also believe that September 11 wasnt right. Everybody is allowed to pray but if we come to know that groups are extremist and they are trying to say something which is not right we dont let them.
“We try our best to tell people that this is not the way. Everyone is equal in front of Allah. Everyone has the right to pray and at the end of the day we must all be friends.”
He added: “We have a policy of anti-extremism. If people have something against us, they probably dont know us.
“If you are Christian or Muslim we can still be friends. We hope the local community and our friends and the local government and police will be there to try seriously to defend everybody.”
Members of EDL clashed with anti-fascist campaigners in Birmingham on August 10 with police in riot gear struggling to control the situation.
Officer made 35 arrests.
The original protest outside Harrow Central Mosque was organised for August 29 on the back of claims there were plans to hold Sharia court meetings in its new building.
Mr Rabbani says there are no such plans but a statement British Defence Leagues website says they do not believe him and do not “want any more mosques in this country”.
The statement reads: “It has now been rescheduled to September 11th, which is a Friday, but will incorporate a 9/11 anniversary commemoration. This is now being organised by the EDL.”
Mr Rabbani said: “We have worked very hard with the local government and the local police to keep community cohesion and partnership.
“All of the community can live together peacefully. Most of the community is happy with us. This group is coming from outside.
“They might have some members in the community but by the look of it the local community is pretty happy with us.”
Answer: Actualy the EDL have never protested outside Harrow Mosque, it was SIOE.
As of for abuse to our Soldiers, it will never happen again, as our troops marched through Nuneaton earlier today, the EDL made sure there was no extemists shouting at the event.
I was there all i heard was EDL chanting "Heroes".

Answer: I wake up to the radio. Living in New Mexico, the first plane had hit. I never turned on the TV in the morning. I found that I could get ready for school with a radio on in each room but not with the TV. When I learned that a plane had hit the first tower, I turned on a TV to see what was happening. I had a hard time leaving the TV to get to school. When I got to school, I immediately started running a cable from the back of the classroom to the front of the classroom where the TV was located. About 2 weeks before I had bought a cable for the classroom TV. My principal came in and wanted to know if that cable belonged to the school. I told her "No, just bought it." I got to keep my cable. My first three classes watched Television that day. I had seniors in American government. After lunch I had juniors in American history. I started the class with the television, but they were not interested and had seen the morning events in other classes so I turned it off and we had class the rest of the day.
