Obama, Romney Make A Mad Dash In A Final Bid For Votes | kplr11 ...
(CNN) -- President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are spending the final hours of the campaign making a mad dash through battleground states Monday in a late push to sway a closely divided ...
Is McCain now is truly set to take the lead and keep it with Bidens support?
Bidens comment that Obama is not ready to lead will figuratively echo in the minds of people.
IF McCain picks Romney, McCain should easily flip all the polls and take a strong and commanding lead, since the funeral in Denver will end with the Clintons totally out of the picture and formally NOT behind Obama.
Shouldnt this be the beginning of the end for any Democratic lead in the polls? I just cannot see Biden doing a thing here and Obamas poor judgment (not mending the fence with the Clintons) is huge.
What do you think, are we seeing the water hit the upper deck of the Titanic here? I think so...
Answer: I think credit needs to be given to each campaign as they have both achieved (and still are achieving) great success.
I think Obama's biggest mistake in the recent months has been the same mistake the Clinton campaign made of Obama; he has underestimated his oponent. He was acting as if he had already won, and forgot that McCain was silently working on a re-group.
Obama's selection of Biden will give McCain a few advantages that cannot be denied:
1.
Although Biden may add some value to the Obama campaign, there is no way of erasing or manipulating the words that came out of Biden's own mouth about Obama; "the presidency does not loan itself to on the job training". And when he had them repeated back to him; he still stuck by them. Yes he did say that he "may" be ready. But are the American people willing to take the chance on someone who may be ready-or may not? As much as the democrats and Obama supporters will claim Biden's words have been misinterpreted - it's impossible for them to have been. He said them and he's admitted them. This allows the republicans to highlight 2 points, that Obama's own running mate doubted him, and his own lack of judgement for not foreseeing the effect this will have on many voters.
2.
Biden speaks well of McCain. If democrats truly dislike McCain and see him as "more of the same", how can voters warm towards someone who would be "honoured" to run WITH him or against him (McCain). Surely Biden is "more of the same?"
3.
Clinton. As much as the democrats hate to admit it, there are a lot of angry, disheartened and ticked off Clinton supporters. With reports that Obama did not even vett her, will continue this division within the party. Surely this can only favour McCain. Obama may be foregiving of those who speak badly of him, but a lot of Americans and Clinton supporters may not want to let go of that grudge as quickly. Despite what the Clinton's say, they clearly have 2012 in their sights already!
4.
Probably the most important of all...Biden represents EVERYTHING Obama has said to the American people he is against. Biden is a Washington insider, he accepts lobyists money, and to put the icing on the cake, he voted FOR the war. Did Obama lie to the American people? Or has he, just as every politician before him, realised he needs to say anything he can to win.
It has been said on many occasions that this election is for the Democrats to lose, not the Republicans to win. People want rid of the current administration and the Democrats are viewed as the way out. So why do they continue to make silly mistakes that cost them heavily? Biden has his benifits; the republicans can no longer claim the "expreience card" and as far as policies are concerened, he can add a lot of weight. He does have a voting record and he is well liked in a swing state. All of these factors will help. But is it enough? McCain's new add will be VERY effective. The Democrats must play the next few months perfectly as McCain has been very focused as of late, and if he continues the way he has been in the last few weeks, he may just lead the Republicans to yet another victory against the Democrats.
ps. I'm an independant - still undecided

The Latest State Unemployment Numbers Are A Disaster For Barack Obama....Oops?
Sooo, how are they gonna spin this? Julys state unemployment numbers came out this morning, and the numbers do not look good for President Barack Obama.
The report shows unemployment rose in 44 states last month, including 9 out of the 10 key battleground states where Obama and his Republican opponent Mitt Romney have focused their campaign money and resources.
We have pointed out before that Obama has benefited from better economic conditions in the swing states. But the latest numbers show that his advantage may be slipping as the campaign heads into the critical three months before the election.
Here are the highlights from the report:
Nevada had the highest joblessness in the country once again, with the unemployment rate slipping back up to 12%, from 11.6% in June.
The unemployment rate was also alarmingly high in North Carolina, rising to 9.6% from 9.4% the month prior.
In Florida, the unemployment rate came dangerously close to the 9% mark, rising from 8.6% in June to 8.8% in July.
Colorados unemployment rate rose with the national average, from 8.2% in June to 8.3% in July.
The July unemployment in Pennsylvania came closer to the national average, rising from 7.6% in June to 7.9% in July. In Wisconsin, joblessness rose to 7.3%, up from 7% in June.
Joblessness also rose in states where unemployment has been well below the national average: Unemployment was up from 5.7% to 5.9% in Virginia; from 5.1% to 5.4% in New Hampshire; and from 5.1% to 5.3% in Iowa.
Ohio was the only swing state last month where unemployment remained the same, at 7.2%.
On the bright side, employers added jobs in five out of 10 swing states – Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Nevada, and North Carolina — last month, mirroring the national unemployment situation in July. Payrolls declined in Florida, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Of course, it is impossible to draw any major conclusions about the swing state economies from one month of unemployment data. But Chicago will likely be watching these numbers very closely to see how worried they should be about Obamas chances in the fall.

It is what it is...and its proof once again that Obamanomics has been and is a disaster for America and the American People.
Lol, so the first two attemplts at spin are:
1) Evans83s assinine statement proving he has no frigging idea what he is talking about...and of course the ever popular ad-hominum attack. (Note* Check the links slick...you might learn something; Personnaly I doubt its possible for you to learn anything. Your parroting skills tho are Awesome! you want a cracker with that whine)
2) Lovey; More ad-hominem nonsense, while ignoring the factual data, and then the blame game; Its not Obamas fault! Well done. You are a beacon is hope for all tards everywhere as you stick your head deeper up your butt.
(Note* Wow...Your kidding right? Are you actually so whacko you can imagine a fantasy world where Federal Policy and Federal Agency actions do Not effect our unemployment rate? ...and our Food Prices, Gas and Energy Prices, health insurance and service costs, Wage-Rates, and every other sector of our lives and economy? Are you honestly that lost? Really?
@Vince; ummm No, but thanks for playing. Student participation in labor markets had nothing to do this increase in unemployment. That seasonal variable is already in the mix and is fully adjusted for.
In July Real or actual Unemployment is Up...just as it was in June.
Answer: This will be one of those months - like every other month in which UI has risen - when libs claim the president has nothing to do with job creation unlike the months when we've seen a reduction in UI and according to the left, Obama is solely responsible.
Funny....

Romney Stakes Hopes on Ohio, A Tactical Test
CINCINNATI -- Fresh off his nominating convention, Mitt Romney is cranking up a well-financed political machine that will now bring its full force to bear on President Obama with a hailstorm of ads and nonstop campaigning. Obama, Romney Make A Mad Dash In A Final Bid For Votes ...
(CNN) -- On the final day of frenetic campaigning through the battleground states that will determine the outcome of the presidential race, Republican candidate Mitt Romney warned supporters of further financial trouble unless voters choose to send him ... Obama started his final day of campaigning Monday with a late-morning event in Madison, Wisconsin, where he was introduced by rocker Bruce Springsteen and outlined why he deserves four more years in office.
What was Obamas strategy for winning nomination and could GOP nominee have similar strategy?
I heard that Obama won the nominee because he put more focus into caucus states than Hillary did.
Hillary might have won if she had stuck to her original strategy of ignoring Iowa and winning New Hampshire big time. In Iowa, she placed third behind John Edwards.
Answer: Obama's strategy had three parts:
1) Reach out to new voters, especially in the caucus states.
2) Plan on a long campaign rather than a short campaign
3) Know the rules and the numbers (amazing that he got the edge on this one since the Clinton campaign had several representatives on the Rules Committee).
It is easier for a Democratic candidate to get an edge by understanding the rules and the numbers. The Democrats have uniform rules across the entire country. That means that in each state, even for the candidate who is trailing, there is someplace where a 2-3% swing can get you a delegate, and places where losing 5-6% will not make a difference.
The Republicans are going to (for the first time ever) require the early states to use some form of proportionality, but only at the state level. However, the Republicans can still use winner-take-all at the District level and they have fewer district delegates (making it harder to pick up a delegate here and a delegate there) and also will permit the later states to use winner-take-all (again making it harder to pick up a delegate here and a delegate there).
Caucis strategy may play some role in the Republican process, but the Republican process is less welcoming to first time participants. The typical Republican state rules give the veteran caucusgoers several mechanisms for tricking the newcomers out of their candidate's fair share of delegates to the next level (as delegates are not necessarily tied to the straw vote) whereas the straw vote is the basis for delegates under the Democratic rules. Furthermore, unlike the Democrats, where none of the major candidates had a natural edge with caucus participants (both being equally supported by activists and having an appeal to less-committed voters), there is a natural division in the Republican Party between strong caucus candidates (Bachmann, Paul, Palin) and strong primary candidates (Pawlenty, Romney).
The one strategy that all of the participants should plan on is a campaign that goes into April. A candidate who puts all of their eggs into getting an early win (like Senator Clinton did) is going to find themselves losing delegates in Mid-March that they could have won. Ultimately, that is what did in Senator Clinton, not having a plan in place for Louisiana, Washington, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Maryland (the states in Mid-February). President Obama took about 80 more delegates in those states (of which only Washington was a caucus) than did Clinton and Clinton was never able to close that gap even after getting a plan in place for the later primaries.

Left wing priority -- Romneys tax returns? Are you kidding?
Does this about sum it up?
Obama and his team are doing everything they can to keep people focused on anything other than Obama and his record.
Ive not seen or heard Obama campaign on any of his own record as he spent $100 million in attack ads in 8 swing states.
No wonder Obama doesnt campaign about Obama. JOBS - JOBS and JOBS is whats on the vast majority of voters minds. As president for 43 months and the unemployment rate has been or exceeded 8.2% for 41 of them, & the 3rd reporting period of declining sales.
I wouldnt talk about my record either. But Romneys tax returns? Thats about as bad as 4 years later some lefties still blame Bush. Nearly 4 years later, this is Obamas mess. $5 trillion more of it. The left have truly fallen off a cliff with this tax return nonsense. The IRS hasnt any issues with them, why do you? Class warfare? Thats a leftie for ya. 110 days and this man is toast.
Answer: A corporate raider wants to be president and you don't want to see his tax returns? You are an idiot.
