Why are Liberals making excuses for Obamas CONSERVATIVE way of Health care reform?
http://socialistworker.org/2009/08/03/excuses-for-health-care-non-reform
They had a Democratic president who said in campaign speeches that he considered health care a "right" for all Americans. They had a large Democratic majority in the House of Representatives and a "filibuster-proof" 60-vote Democratic majority in the Senate. And they had an economic crisis whose ravages illustrated the need for health care reform, while discrediting the free-market Republicans who had been one of the main obstacles in the past.
Yet less than a year later, with Congressional committees working their way through a $1 trillion health care overhaul, the sense of despair emanating from liberal quarters is palpable.
"[T]he White House has taken an issue more intimate and immediate than perhaps any other in a voters life and transformed it into an abstract, technical argument about long-term actuarial projections," wrote Nation magazine Washington editor Christopher Hayes. "Its a peculiar kind of reverse political alchemy: transforming gold into lead."
Whats more, opinion polls taken in recent weeks show a drop in support for President Obama, stemming largely from the continued deterioration of the economy and perhaps, surprisingly, by increased doubts about Obamas plans to reform health care.
What happened?
Much of the commentary has centered on Obamas failures to "take charge" of the debate, mobilize his supporters, knock congressional heads together or campaign on populist grounds to build public support for an easy-to-grasp health care bill.
While all of these criticisms have merit, they dont get at what it is that Obama and the Democrats are actually trying to sell. Grasping that is the key to understanding why the campaign for reform has seemed so lackluster.
LIBERALS who are committed to the lesser-evil setup of the two corporate parties in U.S. politics, there seems to be no other way. When the other main party appears to be in the grip of troglodytes who want to scuttle the possibility of health care reform altogether, the liberals end up clinging even more strongly to ever dwindling pieces of legislation that can be dressed up as reforms.
Answer: It's a class issue
Liberalism is in a sorry state for social, historical and moral reasons. Most of those who might once have protested are now wealthy, part of the establishment, more concerned about the health of the stock market than the state of democratic rights. Intellectual and spiritual decay have accompanied financial success. More generally, the demands of the capitalist market have proven incompatible, in the long run, with the program of social reformism, particularly as the latter has been diluted and its proponents drained of energy and determination both by the growth of social antagonisms in the US and the obligations imposed on the American ruling elite by its role as the pre-eminent imperialist power.
Contemporary liberal politicians and the like are for justice and equality for everyone and resolutely opposed to the ultra-right—as long as it doesn't require them to work up a sweat. In income, lifestyle and outlook they are much closer to Republicans than to working class and middle class voters.
In the final analysis, the liberal wing of the ruling elite fears the same social process as their conservative counterparts: the radicalization of wide layers of the population and their advancement of their own independent interests, above all, social equality. It fears this more than anything, including police-state dictatorship.
In The History of the Russian Revolution, Leon Trotsky cited the comment of a Russian philosopher, who spoke more forthrightly than our present-day liberals—at least out loud: “Whatever we [liberals] stand for, we must not dream of uniting with the people—we must fear them more than all the persecutions of the government, and we must give thanks to the government which alone protects us with its prisons and bayonets from the ferocity of the people.” Voila!
Obama’s health care counterrevolution is of a piece with his entire domestic agenda. It parallels the multi-trillion-dollar bailout of the banks, the imposition of mass layoffs and wage and benefits cuts in the auto industry, and a stepped-up attack on public education and on teachers.
The economic crisis has been seized upon by the American financial aristocracy, with the Obama administration as its central instrument, to carry through a class-war agenda, long in preparation, that is directed against the vast majority of the American people. All that remains of the social reforms from the 1930s and 1960s, and the gains won by previous generations of workers in bitter struggle, is to be wiped out.
The immense growth of social inequality and the domination of society and the political system by a financial aristocracy are incompatible with institutions and programs that retain any vestige of a democratic and egalitarian impulse. Public education and health care must be reorganized more openly and directly along class lines.
This is the basic program of all factions of the ruling elite—liberal and conservative, Democratic and Republican.

Are you still undecided about the Presidential election? If so, why?
If you are still undecided and before you answer, read this:
1) John McCain doesnt believe we should raise taxes on anybody during a recession. Obama does and that will prolong our economic woes.
2) John McCain has been endorsed by the NRA. Barack Obama once supported a complete ban on the manufacture and ownership of handguns in America.
3) John McCain co-sponsored a bill to fix Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac back in 2005. Had it passed, we wouldnt have had a bailout crisis. Obama took in the 2nd largest amount of money from Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. In other words, McCain tried to fix the problem while Obama was in the back pocket of the shady operators who cost the American people over 700 billion dollars.
4) Barney Frank has promised a 25% cut in defense spending if Barack Obama gets into office. John McCain would not support that policy.
5) Both Barack Obama and John McCain publicly pledged to take public financing for their campaigns. McCain kept his word. Obama lied. If he will lie to the American people about that, what else is he lying about?
6) Barack Obama has received hundreds of millions of dollars in earmarks, including a million dollar earmark for his wifes hospital. John McCain has never taken an earmark.
7) John McCains health care plan will make health care more affordable, cover more people, and will keep the market in control. Barack Obamas plan for socialized medicine will put government bureaucrats in charge, will lead to long wait times for operations and lead to a poorer quality of health care. If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see how much it costs under Barack Obama when its "free."
8) Barack Obama says he doesnt want his daughters "punished" with a baby and that abortion is "above my pay grade." Do you think a baby is punishment? Do you think abortion is above Sarah Palins pay grade?
9) Sarah Palin is a conservative reformer who has taken on oil companies and her own party as a mayor and a governor. Joe Biden is a career Washington insider with no executive experience whos most famous for gaffes, making things up, and being on the wrong side of almost every foreign policy issue from Vietnam to the surge.
10) Barack Obama spent twenty years going to an anti-white, anti-American church run by Jeremiah Wright. He didnt go to that church for so long because he disagreed with the message.
11) John McCain once fought for our country in Vietnam. Barack Obama has never fought for anything but his own career.
12) John McCain has literally had to decide whether to go home from a POW camp or stay and be tortured. He made the right decision. Barack Obamas first tough decision will be made in the White House.
13) John McCain pals around with Joe Lieberman, Lindsey Graham, Sarah Palin, and Phil Gramm. Barack Obama has "pald" around with Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Michael Pfleger, Frank Davis, and Tony Rezko. What does that say about each mans character?
14) John McCain always holds his hand over his heart for the national anthem and has never refused to wear a flag pin after calling it a "substitute for, I think, true patriotism." Do we really want to have the first President in our history who doesnt love his country?
15) For good or ill, John McCain is a moderate, but Barack Obama was the most liberal senator in America in 2007. Do you trust someone that liberal to run the country?
16) When theres an international crisis at 3 A.M. and the phone rings, you cant vote "present."
17) This is what Barack Obama thinks of Americans who live in small towns,
And its not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who arent like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
How can someone, who thinks so little of people who dont live in big cities, truly represent all Americans in the White House?
18) Do you really want to spend the next four years listening to Barack Obamas supporters cry "racism" every time somebody criticizes or disagrees with him?
19) The mainstream media has been more biased than at any time in our lifetimes for Obama and theyve launched an absolutely unprecedented smear campaign against Sarah Palin -- and worse yet, Sarah Palins family. Do you want to reward and encourage more of that kind of behavior in the future by putting Barack Obama in the White House?
20) Barack Obama is a socialist who wants to "spread the wealth around." John McCain wants to spread the opportunity around instead of making people dependent on government.
21) John McCain has promised no more bailouts. Barack Obama has not.
22) John McCain favors judges who will stick to the Constitution. Barack Obama says he wants judges with "empathy." Would you want an umpire of a baseball game who sticks to the rules or one who has "empathy?"
23) McCain has promised to balance the budget
23) McCain has promised to balance the budget in four years and whether he makes it or not, he will undoubtedly cut spending. Obama will run trillion dollar deficits. You do the math.
24) We have the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world and it is driving our companies overseas. John McCain wants to cut the tax to keep businesses in the U.S. and create jobs. Barack Obama does not.
25) Barack Obama will sign the Union Card Check Bill that will end the right to secret ballots for union members, thereby crippling more American industries via unionization. The unions are destroying the Big 3 automakers and the airline industry -- and under Obama, theyll be a further drag on the American economy. Furthermore, since when do we give up the right to have a secret ballot in America? John McCain opposes the Union Card Check Bill.
26) Barack Obama will sign the Fairness Doctrine into law, which is solely designed to drive conservative radio hosts off the air.
26) Barack Obama will sign the Fairness Doctrine into law, which is solely designed to drive conservative radio hosts off the air. When did we start trying to win political contests in this country by preventing our political opponents from being heard? John McCain opposes the Fairness Doctrine.
27) Barack Obama wants to force gay marriage on the whole country via the court system, which is why he favors overturning the Defense of Marriage Act. John McCain thinks marriage should be between a man and a woman, which is why he supports leaving DOMA in place.
28) John McCain favored the surge. Barack Obama did not. So, if Barack Obama had been President over the last four years, we would have already lost the war in Iraq.
29) Barack Obama wants to leave Iraq in 16 months, whether we win or not. John McCain doesnt want to risk seeing the victory our troops have bled and died for thrown away for politics sake.
30) It would literally be dangerous to the future of our country to have a large Democratic majority in the House, a large majority in the Senate, and Obama in the White House.

Does the fact that Clinton stated that she wants her supporters to vote for Oboma if she doesnt win give ....?
Obama supporters a little more respect for her? (for obama Supporters) Clinton supporters: Does this make you think about voting for him in the general election considering that when Clinton wins WV and Kentucky Obama will have no choice but to select her for the VP slot?
Answer: Hillary Clinton has made it impossible for Barack Obama to select her as a VP whether she would accept it or not and still beat John McCain in the 2008 presidential election. Hillary took the campaign for the democratic nomination to negative with Barack Obama her target, along with her partner and husband Bill Clinton. All their negativity never produced the results thy hoped for and thus they are both now Democratic DOA's concerning any positions within his administration! The Clinton's threw caution to the wind and it has came back to slap them in the face! Bill and Hillary Clinton were once legends in the Democratic Party circles....now they have a much smaller following and supporters! Like they say, when you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all! The Clinton's motto is: when we have nothing nice to say, we will say something negative anyway and hope it sticks to the person! Whether Clinton supporters now support Barack Obama is anybody's guess...they can do as they please either helping elect John McCain by not voting or voting for him or elect Barack Obama and chalk this whole experience up to one mistake after another by Hillary and Bill Clinton as to why she is not the nominee in 2008! Hillary by all common sense should have had the nomination locked up a long-time ago, but played her cards all wrong believing she was the solid choice for the Democratic nomination before any of the primaries even took place! Hillary took things for granted and reality came back to bite her in the butt! Nothing is guaranteed in politics and the Clinton should know this by now....I believe Bill Clinton did but, Hillary wanted to run her own show...thus Bill Clinton's advice to his own wife was chiefly ignored as she wanted to prove to him, I can also obtain the "White House" on my terms, on my past record of accomplishments, all by myself! What Hillary failed to take into consideration...Bill Clinton had charm and tact, he had a witty-ness about him and people just thought he was an all-around good guy. Hillary does not and did not show this same charm on the campaign trail....you are who you are and you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear! Barack Obama is more like Bill Clinton with charm, than Hillary ever thought of being...Hillary comes off as to fake, her laughter even seem rehearsed, her smiles so forced as she attempted to play the crowd during campaign stop after campaign stop. Hillary was just trying to hard to be somebody she is not....she cannot hide her bitterness and contempt for those who have scorned her and her political views and policies of past years. Hillary is bitter and she resents those in Washington, DC who have fought her healthcare plans tooth and nail through the years and has taken it personally as an attack upon her intellectual abilties to solve problems regarding issues facing Americans everday! Hillary would best serve the democratic Party and America by stepping down, immediately and supporting Barack Obama as a New York State senator willing to work with him to bring forth solutions to what ails America and its people. Will she? I doubt it...her campaign has always been about her being elected president and she has done everything in her power to make that happen...but she did it all to late. Had she had the same political drive a year ago and relentless pursuit from day one as she has now...she would have easily had the nomination all wrapped up month's ago. Hillary got slack and lazy at the start and it has cost her the nomination! You snooze, you loose! Hillary Clinton did just that! Playing catch-up is not that easy and in politics it is that much harder unless your opponent self-destructs! Barack Obama has stayed the course, he has dodged the bullets, he has weathered the storm and calmed the fears of the American voters. He has withstood everything thrown at him and he is an admirable man, who sells hope to those who had lost it and has a plan and direction of change for the better....and America could not have this come at a more needed time!

An accurate description of the RNC?
By DAVE BARRY
ST. PAUL -- The Republican convention reached a dramatic conclusion Thursday night when, moments after John McCain finished his triumphant acceptance speech, nets high above the convention floor opened up and released thousands upon thousands of red, white and blue golf balls.
We thought wed try something a little different, one convention planner said later, as wounded delegates were carried out on stretchers, some of them still clutching PROSPERITY signs. ``Next time we are definitely going back to the balloons.
But other than that, the convention went pretty well. The Republicans came to Minnesota worried about whether they could match the megawatt buzz generated in Denver by the Democrats ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden and Ben Affleck. But the Republicans are leaving here with energy of their own, thanks to the McCain-Palin ticket, which combines the experience of a longtime maverick war-hero senator with the fresh-faced n feisty toughness of a small-town Alaska hockey-mom snowmobiling mayor governor who can kill and field-butcher a mature grizzly bear using only a nail file and her teeth.
The Republicans are also feeling good about their message, which is that Washington is bad and whoever is in charge there needs to be run out of town on a rail. Interestingly, this is also the Democrats message. We are now in our fourth consecutive decade in which both of our major political parties are just totally FED UP with Washington. I frankly dont see how Washington can survive this onslaught much longer.
Anyway, the Republican convention is over, and the friendly, picturesque city of St. Paul will now take down the roughly 63,000 miles of really high security fence that protected the delegates and news media from ever coming into direct contact with the friendly, picturesque city of St. Paul.
I suppose the fence was necessary, but I feel bad for St. Paul. I mean, this is a city with a fascinating history. The first inhabitants were native Americans, who came here more than 1,500 years ago, then died and formed burial mounds. After that, pretty much nothing happened until this week, when the Republican convention showed up.
This was supposed to be St. Pauls big moment to shine, but the fence kept most of the visitors inside the convention center. When they left, they were bused out of St. Paul, most of them back to restaurants and hotels in Minneapolis, a fact that really frosted St. Pauls civic shorts. Minneapolis is St. Pauls bitter arch-rival city, because Minneapolis thinks it is just so sophisticated and hip with its slick Minneapolis ways.
OK, Im exaggerating. Nobody here is bitter or angry. As far as I can tell, nobody in Minnesota ever gets riled up about anything. Minnesotans really are, as the expression goes, Minnesota nice. They are beyond nice. They make Mister Rogers look like Hitler. If you drove your car at 85 mph into a Minnesota familys house, their reaction, once they pulled you out of the wreckage and gave you some hot cocoa, would be to apologize for building their house in a location that you would eventually want to drive through.
Which may be why no Minnesotan has ever been elected president.
Anyway, the conventions are over, so Im going to have the press credential surgically removed from around my neck and head back to Miami -- where, if you tried to drive into somebodys house, you would be cut down by machine-gun fire before you got halfway across the lawn -- to brace for Hurricane Whatever.
I hope you enjoyed my convention coverage, and I hope you stay informed about the issues in this campaign. Because, as Benjamin Franklin once said: An informed voter is a voter whose vote doesnt count any more than the vote of a complete idiot. He was a wise man, Ben Franklin. He never got elected president, either.

What are the real reasons people hate Obama so much?
I personally did not support Obama during the 2008 election. I am a Republican, and disagree with most of the policies he talked about during his campaign. And I dont exactly support him as a president. I do agree with some things hes doing, however, like working on ending the war in Afghanistan, signing a new tax bill, and working on the START treaty. I disagree with the healthcare bill, however. Almost all the comments on Yahoo stories about Obama are slamming him, and saying how much they hate him. I assume some of those people are on Yahoo answers- so tell me, what has he really done to get you to hate him? He said directly in his campaign, "Change" may take more than one term as president. Hes done quite a bit since he got in office, and yet, his supporters hate him. I think every unintelligent human being who managed to pull themselves off the couch and away from watching tyler perrys house of payne to vote for Obama is just jumping on the bandwagon of hating Obama, exactly what happend to Bush when he supposedly caused the stock market to crash, and the recession to ensue (I assume commenters will say its all his fault, right? Not the investment banks and American people who were the true causes?) Anyway, bottom line, WHY do you hate Obama, and want him out of the White House right away? It certainly isnt because he "didnt do anything".
Answer: I am glad I was not called a racist in the question and that you did not bring up race, very cool.
I do not like the over reliance on the Government. Obama thinks government is the solution to every problem from race to bitter coffee. I believe in failure. I believe is success. I do not believe in rewarding failure (GM) and punishing success (rich). When someone buys a product they are buying into a company and will it be there in the long term. GM failed. the people who invested in GM should have lost, instead they were rewarded with my tax dollars and my children's future.
Hate Obama, no I hate socialism, I hate Communism. I hate the demonetization of Capitalism.
Who lives better retirements, those who receive SSI or those who receive 401K payouts. The government is never the solution but the problem.

Iowa May Turn G.O.P.s Focus To Social Issues
DES MOINES -- The ailing economy and the Tea Partys demand for smaller government have dominated Republican politics for two years, but a resurgent social conservative movement is shaping the first stage of the presidential nominating contest, complicating the strategy for candidates who prefer to focus on fiscal issues over faith. Here in Iowa, - By JEFF ZELENY
Former Reagen strategist predicts doom for GOP in 2012, is he right?
Please, No Comments About Length, Read It, You Might Learn Something.
Former Reagan strategist Ed Rollins made this observation (as quoted by John Heilemann in New York Magazine) regarding the 2012 Republican primary:
Six months before this thing got going, every Republican I know was saying, “We’re gonna win, we’re gonna beat Obama.” Now even those who’ve endorsed Romney say, “My God, what a fucking mess.”
Given Rick Santorum’s quest for an American theocracy, Mitt Romney’s insistence throughout the campaign on portraying himself as a somewhat less compassionate version of Gordon Gekko, Newt Gingrich’s moon colonies and hope of eradicating from the judiciary every judge who does not follow the Gingrich Doctrine and Ron Paul…well, Ron Paul’s refusal to be anyone else but Ron Paul…one can only think, a fucking mess, indeed. Which begs the question, why so, why now?
Because any party which is composed in large part (in Robert Reich’s words) of “birthers, creationists, theocrats, climate-change deniers, nativists, gay-bashers, anti-abortionists, media paranoids, anti-intellectuals, and out-of-touch country clubbers” cannot possibly be appeased by a single candidate and when the attempt is made, the result is the three (four?) ring circus Republicans now have before them.
In this Republican age of insanity, finding credible, rational conservatives willing to risk their political careers to take on an incumbent president while courting the vote of teabaggers, bigots and religious fundamentalists (not all mutually exclusive) is no easy task. Just ask Jon Huntsman. Intelligence and a record of staunch conservatism is simply not enough to satisfy the GOP’s current base – a base which insists that their candidate be every bit as irrational and loopy as them. It is a request which the four remaining candidates vying to become the Republican nominee are desperately attempting to fulfill.
Given the current state of the Republican party, John Heilmann theorizes on the consequences of an Obama win or loss in November.
…it’s still perfectly conceivable that Obama might lose this thing.
If that happens, the implications for the Republican Party will be straightforward: It will be reshaped in the image of whichever of the candidates becomes president-elect. A Romney victory would signal the resurgence of the regulars, while one by Santorum would usher in an era of red-hot regnancy.
But if Obama prevails, precisely the opposite dynamic is likely to kick in: a period of bitter recriminations followed by a reformation (or counterreformation) of the GOP. This, please recall, was what many Republicans were counting on to happen in the wake of their party’s loss of the White House and seats in the House and Senate in 2008. Instead, Republicans seized on a strategy of relentless opposition to Obama, which proved politically effective in 2010 but left the party as bereft of new ideas, a constructive agenda, or a coherent governing philosophy as before.
And this bit of reasoning for hoping that Rick Santorum prevails against Romney but loses to Obama.
Only the most mindless of ideologues reject the truism that America would be best served by the presence of two credible governing parties instead of the situation that currently obtains. A Santorum nomination would be seen by many liberals as a scary and retrograde proposition. And no doubt it would make for a wild ride, with enough talk of Satan, abortifacients, and sweater vests to drive any sane man bonkers. But in the long run, it might do a world of good, compelling Republicans to return to their senses—and forge ahead into the 21st century. Which is why all people of common sense and goodwill might consider, in the days ahead, adopting a slogan that may strike them as odd, perverse, or even demented: Go, Rick, go.
You might want to start making your ‘Sick Rick for President‘ posters.
Answer: Ed Rollins, never ever having been mistaken for a democrat or even a moderate himself, is absolutely right about this. This is how far right GOP has become, now a party of lunatics.

Why did McCain promise to run a clean campaing and is now doing the opposite?
McCain promised the American people a clean campaign based on real issues. He swore he would not engage in bitter politics and negative ads.
So why has McCain lied to the American people yet again? The Bush administration has already lied to us long enough, we dont need another lying SOB like McCain in the White House.
I am really disappointed at McCain. The fact that he stooped so low, and shows a lack of spine, helped sealed my vote for Obama. Palin is really not helping either.
When are the republicans going to realize that the American people have woken up from the nightmare of the Bush administration? Your fear mongering no longer works, we care about real issues.
Answer: Because he hired the same people who destroyed his campaign on behalf of Bush in 2000. They are the B*stard Children of Lee Atwater and Karl Rove.

Health Bill Passes Key Test in the Senate With 60 Votes
After a long day of acid, partisan debate, Senate Democrats held ranks early Monday in a dead-of-night procedural vote that proved they had locked in the decisive margin needed to pass a far-reaching overhaul of the nations health care system. The roll was called shortly after 1 a.m., with Washington still snowbound after a weekend blizzard, and - By DAVID M. HERSZENHORN and ROBERT PEAR
Will Obamas mob be coming after me, too?
Okay, I admit it: I am alittle bit afraid - after all, I have a child at home.
BARACK OBAMA has said that he wants to organize a task force that will "keep America safe", and he said it would be "stronger than the U.S. Military".
The people of Alaska are getting a preview of that "task force", because Barack Obama unleased what you can only describe as a
"small army" of foot soldiers. They have trampled the State, intimidated the people and called us "white trash".
When Obamas soldiers couldnt find any dirt on Palin, who has over
80% approval in Alaska, they decided to flood the Media with horrible
lies about Gov. Palin and about the people of Alaska.
NOW, AFTER THEY HACKED GOV. PALINS EMAIL, THEY HAVE GONE ONE STEP FURTHER:
They have hacked into Bill OReillys website as well, getting all the names and addresses of people who are on his mailing list. One
elderly man says Obama mobsters came to his door and scared him
to death.
I am on the Bill OReilly mailing list, too. I have a little boy in the
house who is disabled. Obamas people hate Gov Palin for giving birth to her disabled son - WHAT WILL THEY DO TO MINE?
Today the Obama soldiers sent a warning to Gov Palin that if she tries
to show up in Manhattan, she will be gang-raped. These people are
very vicious and nothing is beneath them. They are literally terrorizing
people all over the Country.
In New York, meanwhile, several Jewish groups got together to hold
a rally against President A. of Iran - They invited Hillary Clinton to speak and also invited Gov Palin. When Hillary found out, she had
a group go to the Jewish groups and threaten them with an investigation by the IRS about their visitor status in the U.S. - they threatened to upset the families of everyone affiliated with those Jewish Groups.
One of them, DEMOCRAT Bob Kunst of "defenders.com", said it was
a nightmare. He is so upset with the mob-mentality of the Dem.Party that he is changing over to Republican.
The Obama Campaign put out this message to his "followers":
"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face."
He sent his inner-circle bully soldiers to Alaska and now he is unleasing the rif-raff of the Democratic Party to intimidate people.
He sent ACORN out to falsify voter registrations - they are registering
dead people, imprisoned for life people, and imaginary people.
AT one Acorn office, they found over 1400 false registrations for
Obama votes. Acorn employees have been jailed and fined over and over again.
Republican individuals have received threatening letters saying that if they hold a fund-raiser for ANY REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE, that they will be sorry they did.
Why is this being tolerated? Do you think a political party should be allowed to physically terrorize people?
SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR END UP
DEAD, THANKS TO BARACK OBAMA WHO COULD CARE LESS AS LONG AS HE GETS INTO THE WHITE HOUSE.
I AM GETTING TO SEE WHAT HE MEANS BY "TASK FORCE".
We will have President Obamas foot soldiers terrorizing us if we dont
do what he wants.
VOTERS: For goodness sake, check into Obama before you give him
the ultimate power on Earth; Ive listed some links that aways fully-document everything they say. Dont trust the Media.
MY SIGN IS OUT FRONT: "Bitter gun owner". I sure hope they
get the message. Obama is forcing this Nation into a bitter division
of people, and that is very dangerous. We need to all be as one, as
Americans, because we have Nations who are working hard at ways
to attack and destroy us. Lets not let it happen because we were too
busy attacking EACH OTHER. I think Obama wants us divided.

which is the 2007 survey in question. It has nothing to do with approval of her unethical sojourn as Gov. of Alaska.

Will you as Christians pray this for Oboma?
10 Ways to Pray for Barack Obama
Whether you are happy about this weeks election results or not, all Christians must unite in prayer for our new president. Please dont forsake this responsibility.
Its over. Weve reached the end of the longest, angriest and most nerve-wracking presidential campaign in American history. Finally the "I approved this message" ads have ceased. The endless robot phone calls have stopped ringing. The debates, and the annoying post-debate comments from "experts," are history—until the next election cycle.
More than half the nation is celebrating today while others are mourning. We are a divided nation, split into unhappy fragments by abortion, gay marriage, global warming, a failed economy and an unpopular war. Those who voted for Barack Obama have claimed a historic victory; some on McCains side are already looking for scapegoats. Politics is politics.
But when I got up this morning, I turned all my attention to the fact that Jesus Christ is still on the throne. His government is what is most important. Regardless of who sits in the Oval Office, the Bible says "the nations are like a drop from a bucket" to God (Is. 40:15, NASB). That includes the United States. We may boast about being "the greatest nation on earth," but He who sits in heaven has a different perspective. Lets take a big sigh of relief now and remember that God is sovereign.
Ill admit this election did not turn out as I had hoped. I supported McCain primarily because I am pro-life and I prefer his small-government mindset. But now that the election is over, Im not going to harbor bitterness toward Obama supporters or go into attack mode. Obama has been elected president of this country, and that means I have a biblical responsibility to support him in prayer—even if I challenge his policies.
Whether you voted for Obama or not, you need to pray for him. Here are 10 ways I plan to intercede for him regularly:
1. Pray for Obamas protection. We already know that some weird, neo-Nazi fanatics in Tennessee plotted to kill Sen. Obama during his campaign. Lets pray that racist hatred is not allowed to spread. Lets cancel every assassins bullet in the name of Jesus. May civility triumph over bigotry.
2. Cover his wife and daughters in prayer. It is not easy to live under constant media scrutiny. Pray for Obamas wife, Michelle, and their two daughters, Malia and Natasha, as they face invasive cameras, nosy reporters, maniacal fans and dangerous enemies. Obama is not only a politician but also a husband and a father.
3. Pray that Obama will govern with Gods wisdom. God rewarded Solomon because he asked for wisdom instead of wealth, long life or vengeance on his enemies (see 1 Kings 3:11-12). Pray that Obama will order his priorities like that. Despite Solomons tragic character flaws, his legacy was wisdom. We can ask God to give our president the same grace.
4. Ask God to keep our president humble. Many great American leaders became corrupt after they moved to Washington. The fatal attraction of fame, wealth and power proved irresistible. The only thing that will guard a man or woman from this pitfall is humility. May God deliver President Obama from the curse of pride.
5. Pray for wise and righteous advisers to surround him. Godly leaders cannot do their job alone. Even the best leaders have failed because they trusted the wrong people. Pray that Obama will not select his counselors based on party, race, pedigree or political cronyism but on godly character and proven wisdom. Pray also that he will not allow secret traitors into his inner circle.
6. Ask for the spirit of reconciliation. Some segments of our deeply divided society want nothing to do with Obama now that he has won the presidency. Even some Christians will be tempted to harbor resentment and nurse political grudges throughout his term in office. Pray that God will grant forgiveness and healing so that leaders on all political levels can have constructive dialogue.
7. Pray that Obama will adopt pro-life convictions. Many politicians have changed their views on key issues while in office. In the 1800s some leaders who favored slavery later denounced it. In the 1950s some who opposed racial integration later became champions of it. Even though Obama won approval from many voters because he sanctions abortion, God could soften and change his heart.
8. Bind all evil forces assigned to manipulate our president. The specter of Islamic terrorism looms over the United States, and dark forces are ready to infiltrate. Our only hope lies in prayer to the God who is able to expose and outwit the schemes of the wicked. This is truly a time for spiritual warfare, and intercessors must not come off the wall in this hour! Pray that no foreign government, terrorist organization or demonic principality will use Obama as a tool. We must stand strong against the spirit of antichrist that pr
Answer: I have to admit Bill that I am a bit resentful over him winning. Even as I read your letter I am being stirred emotionally in wanting to resist what your saying . Mostly because I know you are right that as Christians we should respect and support who God has allowed to take the reigns. I think if I were to begin praying for him it would help. I'm not so much against him as I am his policies. More specifically abortion and gay rights. Very good post. I hope people latch on and apply it as I suspect there are many people who are a bit resentful and bitter about Obama being in the white house which although is not a Christians way to respond I can understand their frustration. Personally I don't have much confidence in this man changing even with Gods people praying behind him. But I sure hope that he does for the sake of our country.

US voters to render verdict in close White House race - GMA Network

Who do you think will win the pre presidential elections?
why and who do you want to have win?
Answer: Long and bitter campaign ahead may turn the two rivals into damaged goods
Tom Baldwin in Manchester, New Hampshire
Graphic: how New Hampshire was won and lost
The road to the White House for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama now passes through the deserts and the racially charged South before moving to America’s most populous states and biggest cities. As the landscapes change, so must the way candidates navigate them.
Before her unexpected triumph in New Hampshire, Mrs Clinton was being urged by her inner circle to skip the looming contests in Nevada and South Carolina, so that she could concentrate resources on February 5, Super Tuesday, when fully half the delegates for the Democratic nominating convention will be elected.
But aides made plain yesterday that the New Hampshire result had put the caucuses in Nevada on January 19 and the South Carolina primary on January 26 very much back in play.
Bitter campaign may damage rivals
The New Hampshire result has put the caucuses in Nevada and the South Carolina primary very much back in play
Mr Obama, who is expected to pick up the endorsement from the powerful 60,000-strong culinary workers’ union in Nevada, had hoped to kick on to victory in a state dominated by Las Vegas. But Mrs Clinton’s supporters believe that she now has the momentum to win in the Silver State, particularly with the expected announcement that Bill Richardson, the New Mexico Governor, is withdrawing from the Democratic race.
Sources close to Governor Richardson, who is Hispanic, told The Times that they expected him to back Mrs Clinton, which could prove crucial among Nevada’s large Hispanic community, who – Mrs Clinton’s allies have suggested – may be hostile to an African-American candidate.
Rory Reid, her Nevada campaign manager, said: “We think we are well positioned here. We have some time for people to compare them.”
Race will also inevitably raise its head in South Carolina, where about half of Democratic voters are black. The latest polls suggest that Mr Obama has captured this constituency, but that was before the result of Tuesday’s primary, which may rekindle doubts in the minds of black voters who have told pollsters that they did not think he could win.
Bill Clinton, who remains an enormously popular figure among African Americans and earned himself the moniker “America’s first black President”, is expected to feature prominently in the South Carolina campaign.
Mr Obama must now rebuild morale swiftly among his excitable, but potentially fickle, supporters. At a final rally before the New Hampshire vote he had warned them about assuming that he was heading for a second comfortable victory. If he lost, he added, “folks are gonna say that this is a flash in the pan”.
One advantage Mrs Clinton has in the coming contests is that independent voters, who skew heavily towards Mr Obama, are likely to have less influence. Although her margin of victory in the New Hampshire primary was wafer-thin, she beat her rival easily in the core Democratic constituency.
However, an uncertain factor is the position of John Edwards. He was third-placed in New Hampshire with 17 per cent of the vote and, although he promised to fight on through the next 48 states, the Democratic contest now appears to be a two-horse race.
South Carolina – where he won four years ago – may be the scene for his last stand. Should he drop out, Mr Obama would hope to pick up the bulk of Mr Edwards’s support, given the way that he has attacked Mrs Clinton. Mrs Clinton, though, who won decisively in New Hampshire among voters concerned about the economy, would look to attract Mr Edwards’s blue-collar support.
The biggest prize remains Super Tuesday when delegate-rich states such as New York, California, New Jersey and Illinois vote.
Both candidates will need to raise vast sums of cash for an advertising air war as the focus shifts from the “retail” politics of the early-voting states to the “wholesale” operation needed for a national campaign.
Significantly, yesterday Mr Obama headed for events in two of these states – New York and New Jersey – where Mrs Clinton has usually led polls. Her aides say that donors who were reluctant to come forward 24 hours ago are now “ringing phones off the hook”. They believe that Mr Obama has now peaked and suggest, perhaps hopefully, that his support will collapse like a soufflé. Howard Wolfson, her communications director, claimed that the “great wave” coming out of Iowa had now crested.
But New Hampshire’s result on Tuesday night was a cautionary tale for those making predictions. Mr Obama said yesterday: “Anyone who thinks they know how voters are going to respond at this point are probably misleading themselves. And I think voters are not going to let any candidate take anything for granted. They want to lift the hood, kick the tyres. They want us to earn it.”
Some Clinton aides are privately suggesting that the contest will continue beyond Super Tuesday, into Ohio on March 4, Pennsylvania on April 22 and North Carolina on May 6. Mrs Clinton told her victory rally that “we are in it for the long run”.
The prospect of a long and presumably bitter campaign will worry Democrats. They see huge turnouts in Iowa and New Hampshire as a sign of voters’ enthusiasm for their party after eight years of the Bush Administration as well as the idea of a black or woman president.
Yet whoever is the winner between Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton, they may be damaged goods by November.
Have your say
You are right. One hopes the democratic campaign does not leave both Hillary and Obama damaged goods, not only before US electorate but before the entire world. These elections are crucial for the world, given Bush's dangerous Iraq-Iran-Israel hangover and instability in Pakistan, not to mention the challenges US economy faces owing to the emerging nuances of new global order dictated by Glasnost and Perestroika in world economy. It is a time, I am sure, that the entire world is looking forward to having a democrat as US President. And if in the process US heralds into office its first Woman or Black president to office, let it done with dignity and decorum that befits the spirit of democracy and not the much maligned dictum 'politics is the last resort of a scoundrel'. Finally, it is a travesty of justice that of all the people Bill Clinton and the first lady during his tenure in office Hillary Clinton have to go public and vouch for their 'racial' credentials ! Beauty of democracy?

are you getting used to being lied to?
for once can we know in advance that the govt will leave voters out to dry after elections .can the media stop playing the same ol chess game every election .will hollywood become the new capital of the USA
Answer: Hillary has lied about her experience and she will resort to anything to get what she wants, including harm to innocent people and including a cover up like Vincent Foster, who was seen entering the White House and there is no video of him ever leaving, then, mysteriously, his body appears dead in a park, but it has carpet fibers all over and much other evidence to point to a murder. Mysteriously, his office documents disappeared.
Also, after Hillary left the White House the last time, there were over $200,000.00 of valuables missing from the White House and things left damaged. She was asked to pay it back, and didn't offer to until those things were reported.
Is that the kind of "leadership" and person with "self-control" that Americans want to run their country?
Also, look at her failed campaign, which is a reflection of what kind of leadership she has to offer. She has left bills unpaid and angry vendors who want payment for expenses Hillary cost them. They leave rental offices with trash all over the floor. What kind of citizenship does that represent?
Also, she claims she is against the Columbian trade, yet has her own cabinet member making a trip to Columbia to negotiate it, and her husband, who would also be on her "cabinet" most likely, is for it. How could she have someone in her cabinet like that and not know it?
Is this the kind of leadership and organization that would be good to lead the country? I don't think so.
It makes no sense how she could claim to be against NAFTA, but voted for it and made efforts to push to get it passed. Now she claims she is against Columbian trade, but has cabinet member and husband pushing to pass it. Is that the kind of organization we need?
Also, why is she hiding her records from her previous days at the White House as she claims are "private". Is it to cover up her phone calls about Vincent Foster and the White Water scandal or the Monica Lewinsky scandal? A person who claims to have experience should not be hiding behind closed and deleted records and asking a judge to withhold them for another year.
Also, think about the fact of how much money she and Bill have made and how much they have given to charity. It seems that someone that rich would have more to give away.
Also, think about the fact that she bought a million dollar mansion in NY , built a separate building on her estate to house the secret service, yet charges the government about $10,000.00 in rental fees PER MONTH, which basically pays for her monthly mortgage on the mansion.
Also, remember that Hillary will get a congressional salary as well as Bill's Presidential salary, and if she became President, after her office, she would also get a Presidential Salary on top of her congressional salary, on top of Bill's Presidential salary added to the family income....All the while, she claims to be concerned about taxes and the middle class and health care costs, while she additionally get all the added benefits of those offices.
Also, there is Chelsea Clinton who did not speak up about her mother's lies about Bosnia, even though Chelsea was on that same trip standing with her mother after they got off of the plane. Why didn't she ask Bill to speak up and correct things? It's the whole Clinton family who has lied to the voters and we really won't know what is the truth when they speak.
No. Nobody should be bitter if Hillary doesn't win. It will be a blessing to this country that we will no longer have such a person to mislead us and lie to us and then cover things up and gain wealth for herself.
VOTE OBAMA and be thankful we won't have a consistent liar and person who has cabinet members working against what Hillary claims to public she is against.
OBAMA's campaign has demonstrated consistency of leadership and has raised more money, while Hillary's is in debt and also has had to make several regroupings from the top. That's NOT demonstrating experience. She has no experience in making things work.
Hillary is just cover-up after cover-up with smokesceens along the way.
