Do most people who drink alcohol excessively do so to relieve repressed anger?
is this what "stress" too really? is it a nice word for repressed anger? how it makes on feel to bottle up "anger" and "Stress"?
how drinking alcohol changes this feeling to maybe what WOULD be a "normal state" if hadnt been in "stressful" situations?
how so, if agree? and how would a person feel if never had much anger repressed or "Stress"?
please explain how common and is this ALSO why people smoke?
give examples too , if can of things that cause "Stress"?
thanks for your answers!
Answer: Repressed anger and stress are two different things in my opinion. Repressed anger is ... one feels angry all the time inside but tries to keep it bottled up. The effect on ones heath can be devastating in both cases... Stress if it's not dealt with can cause physical problems. Stress is worrying about a lot of things, having too much work to do and too little time. An example would be a woman who is a wife and a mother and who has to go to work part time at least. She has to be a wife, a lover, a companion to her husband, she has to be a mother and a carer and a friend to her children and she has to be a professional who does her job well, shows compassion, is friendly, is efficient at work. All that is a big job and such a person needs some time to herself. She just needs to ask her husband to do some of the chores with her if she works as well. Then he has to understand that it's only fair after a hard day that if they do the chores together, they also have more private time together and time to relax, which she needs. Also she needs some time at the weekends when she and her husband can just go out alone and somebody else will babysit the children if they are that young. She needs to get away from the stress and either her husband has to make her feel appreciated or she needs some alone time on occasion where she gets time to go out with her female friends, for a coffee on a shopping spree, laughing with other women, doing a hobby, reading a favourite book... she needs that time to herself to not get to a point where the stress builds up so much inside that it can cause high blood pressure, anxiety, it can lead to eating disorders such as comfort eating or not eating enough. it can lead to a heart attack if someone doesn't learn to use time management and just let some dirty laundry wait and do instead something that gives one a feeling of having fun. A human being is not a machine.
People could become addicted to alcohol because they feel stressed, that's true, a mother who feels overwhelmed with everything or who has to be a model wife, a super mom and then go to work, if she can't find a way to manage stress and get help she might reach for the bottle and think that will help her and it never does, it makes everything worse because it's an addiction and it will come to a point when she can't hide it anymore. The dangerous thing about drinking is that in the early stages alcoholics manage to hide their drinking often and they deny it to themselves that they have a drinking problem. One day it will come to a point that they need a drink in the morning, take some alcohol in a flask to work and may get drunk there and then they get found out. They then have to get help or otherwise they could lose their marriage, their job and their children.
People who smoke ...usually start out of curiosity and then they get hooked. Probably not after one cigarette, but some smoke because they are young and believe ''my friends all do it, it's so cool, then they start it, and after a little while they get addicted to the nicotine and become addicted and can't stop very easily, if they suffer from stress and comfort eat (get overweight and smoke or drink, then they are at a much higher risk of getting a serious health problem) they could suffer high blood pressure and high cholesterol and that could lead to a heart attack or a stroke especially if they are around age 40 or older.
Some people start to go to parties and they drink there, then they drink also when they are alone. Some people drink to drown some sorrows instead of going for help and seek help and talk to a friend or go to a councelor, they drink instead, they may suffer from insecurities and feel that drinking makes them lose inhibitions. They may drink because ''their friends all meet at the pub after work and so they become addicted to drinking whilst hanging out with friends... they may think it's a social thing.. every weekend to hang out with friends and to drink large amounts of alcohol, over the legal limit.. and they talk and think it's fun, but it's bad for them really if they drink over the legal limit and hopefully they are at least smart enough to not drink and drive. Especially those mothers who drink and have to pick up their kids from school or kindergarden, might think they are not really drunk and can manage to drive, but just one drink too many can make them a danger on the road to others and to themselves and the precious cargo they carry in their own car ''their child or children''x

How do I save my parents marriage?
My parents have been together for twenty something years, and as far as I know they always loved each other. They have had their differences but in the long run they have always worked them out,and moved ahead. They have gone through so much together both good and bad, they started a new life in another country helping each other and its through the efforts of them both that we all are where we are today. Lately my parents have been fighting a lot. Financial troubles have taken its toll on them and their relationship, but the things they fight about are the most ridiculous things its actually quite pathetic. My parents are two very different people, they are both hard working people tho. My mother feels like shes the Queen of England, when shes angry no one can talk to her, when shes depressed or sad everyone has to cater to her and make her feel better, when shes happy we all have to smile because God forbid were not in the same good mood she is in. She controls my father a lot, he actually has to ask for permission to watch a game of soccer on the T.V.!!! Why? Because she does not like watching or hearing that, when she herself rarely watches T.V. My mother is very impatient and fights for what she wants and she has a very special skill of being able to hurt other people with two words. My father on the other hand is easy-going, and patient. He likes to do things at their pace. He sits in front of the T.V. everyday when he comes home, or in front of his computer. We live in a place where the idea of social outings is going to the bar and getting drunk. We moved here from NY and my parents used to go out like every other weekend, and here they are just concentrated on working, and school and thats pretty much it. My parents have recently had a " disagreement" because my mom lost her work on the computer and she couldnt find it and my dad tried helping her and he apparently gave her attitude and yadda yadda. Now my mom isnt talking to him, hes sleeping out on the couch. My mom actually LOCKS the door to her room, and me and my sister have to knock to go talk to her, and she barely looks at my dad. She has actually has stated that she wants to leave and all that stuff. Now me and my sister are old enough to take care of ourselves so thats not a problem. My dad is sick of my moms "prima-donna" actions saying that he loves her a lot but if he has to leave her to live in peace he will do so, and my mom has no problem leaving too. I have decided that if they do separate that I will live with neither one of them, and figure something out for me and my sister. But until then it would really be a bitch move if they did separate. I think its ridiculous how all the preaching that they did about families sticking together and being the basis of whatever crap is now put in the back seat! I don t want them to separate, I know Im old enough to handle it but at the same time Im wondering if I can actually handle it. There has to be someway to prevent this from happening!
Answer: Unfortunately in the screwed up world today there is more support for divorce than mending a marriage. Everyone tells them they deserve to be happy, "kids are resilient, they will be fine" so on and so forth,( it's all bull dung). Everything to make them feel at ease with messing up your life and the life's of your family. I'm 52 and have yet to find someone truly happy in their divorce. They may say it was the best thing they ever done, but keep at them and you will get a flood of regrets. The price of divorce is very high for everyone, but the highest price is paid by the children. I don't know how to stop someone from being stupid, stupid is as stupid does. Find an advocate, and aunt, uncle, priest, someone that you can talk to and act on your behalf. Maybe remind your parents that "children learn what they live, and then live what they learned" and poise it with a question, " is this the life you want for us?, do you want us to learn to turn away from our problems or to face them?" From what you said your Dad would be more likely to lesson to you than your mom. Ask him to go to dads.org, they have resources listed that can help. Many people will say that your Dad is whipped, if that's the case, your mom is at fault because she is doing the whipping. The three most important commitments of marriage are 1.Acceptance, past present and future, never to reject or try to change their spouse. 2. Serve, putting their spouse first, to help and support. 3. Love, to give their love to the other no matter what, This does not mean to be in love, but give love. Have your parents read the article of the second link below. if they don't get watery eyed they're to far gone. I have also included some other links. The last one may help you get the ball rolling. As everyone else said, you can't save it for them, But you can help show the way, that is what families do, help and support. May God help

What does a real housewife do these days?
Are you a housewife?
How do you spend your time every day?
Are weekends different?
Are you happy with your life?
If youre not a housewife, what do you think housewives do?
Answer: This is what I would let a lady know:
Either way for later as a wife if you decide make sure to take care of him always in the love making area. I hope you can be stay at home wife ([no school]events with guys around unless your husband is there 100%) that takes care of all the woman things and he is taking care of all the man things like lifting, fixing working outside and handling all those jerks, and if you do work outside you know what I mean. I hope you can be a home wife so the marriage can be a loving one with peace. He wants a feminine wife not a worker guy
Always talking is good. Find a private place to talk with time to talk. Never teach, just inform if necessary and in a meek manner. Handle the kids and teach them with few words and listen well, pay attention to details. If some parts kids can't be handled then inform the husband.
Be a good wife and make sure all the cooking and cleaning is done. Stay Fit, Smell Good, Dress well. Make sure to make love when ever either of you want.
Be meek. Quick to listen, slow to speak. Only tell him things when needed. Never teach him. If you do tell him something make sure it is kindly. Handle the kids, and if you notice you can't for sure then inform him in a kindly way.
Hugs and kisses are always good any time, instead in front of the guys otherwise the guys might want some too. Make sure to let him know to keep the making love part private.
If things are minor I usually just wouldn't even give it a second thought. If it is major I just fix it the best way and that's it. Maybe this will be a good method for you guys. Always reinforce it with Love
On another note: Try your best. Love like you never love before. This is the best way for love to come and start surrounding your life. May love be around you, through you and is you.
Love and the Good Life will come

Can someone give me some positve input on marriage?
I get freaked out by the word marriage I have a bad look on it like if I get marriage I loose my freedom to come and go when I please and if I get married I can accomplish all that I want I dont know is there anyone that can give me some positive input on marriage I need some?
Answer: Relationships invariably restrict our freedom, but some of that freedom is illusory. If you get married, will your wife put up with your staying out all night on weekends drinking and doing drugs while she's at home worrying? Probably not. Is it really liberating to stay out all night drinking and doing drugs? In my opinion, no.
Regarding possible accomplishments, some things you can do most easily if you have no partner. These would include jobs that are physically or fiscally risky. Other times it's very helpful to have a partner. Many of the most successful people--doctors, lawyers, politicians--are successful because there's another person who is making sacrifices where their career is concerned to help out.
And of course if you want to have kids it's best to get married--and don't think you can decide to have a family and just not get married and not be tied down. With relationships you will find certain restrictions whether the relationship is legally recognized or not.
Ultimately you have to decide what you want in life and what's the best way to achieve that. If you think marriage would be beneficial yet find yourself too scared to consider it, get counseling to help sort out why you have these feelings and whether they are surmountable.

What are a good songs for a playlist for a bachelorette party?
I am planning my sisters bachelorette party for next weekend. We rented a party bus and they need a list of songs we would like for while we are on the bus. I need lots of ideas to fill up the play list. My sister is 26 so songs that are current or that were fun party songs from the late 90s/early 2000s (when she was in high school and college) would work also.

Why do some people just give up on marriage?
I mean, doesnt anyone follow the vows or at least try to? Isnt there a reason why they say "for better or for worse"? Seems like all marriage is a sham. Its so disappointing.
Answer: Haven't you noticed how our society has been going straight down hill? We went from shows like "Leave it to Beaver" and the "Brady Bunch" to music videos and "Desperate Housewives". From not being able to hear a single or questionable curse word on t.v. to every curse word used except the "f" word.
Even "good" parents simply don't have the time to raise a child properly these days: 8 - 16 hour work day, including travel time, errands and I'm afraid two days out of the week isn't quality time to know exactly what ones child is into (weekends).
It's all about "immediate gratification"; Everything has to be right now or by yesterday, including marriage. No such thing as "stopping to smell the roses". People don't take the time that is required to learn if someone is compatible with them, don't have old school morals and scruples to wait for love or to remain in any commitment much less a marriage, it's got to be RIGHT NOW!
It's not just marriage Hon, it's everything humans are supposed to adhere to and marriage sadly is just another one of the things not being respected, taught the values of, how to, and the why to become and why not to become married.
I could keep going, but sadly it will depress me to remember that I am even part of the human race - nowadays.

What are ways you rekindle your love with your significant other?
My hubby and I have been living separately due to financial problems and we have been talking more and working on our marriage as much as we can while separated and have decided its time that we go out for dates and a weekend together soon. What are things we should do together (not sex) that can help us grow closer even with our physical distance that occurs the majority of the time?
Answer: Talk every night. Flirt. Then start to see each other and makeout. Then live with each other make love.
Recommended to take it slow, take time to get to know the person. Try to keep things clean, less baggage. Let 7 years of perfect relationship before marriage. After 7 years of perfect marriage then a child if wanted.

How can Husband and Wife make their marriage successful?
Any suggestions/advice or comforting words for those that are having marital problems and need answers to their questions?
Answer: There are a lot of words of advice... but really what works for my wife and I is that we both typically put the other first. When you have two people that love each other and look out for one another with sincere kindness, attention, and respect, you would be amazed at what comes back to you. Two people that think as one... that builds a foundation that can be fixed... even when you may start to notice a crack or two.
On a more specific level I can tell you something that I learned about a year in to marriage. Often times it is better to know you are right than it is to prove it. I through many weekends into needless arguments and hurt feelings... and was lost in silent treatments because I spent so much time making sure that I was right and trying so hard to never admit that I was wrong to my wife. When you are wrong admit it and apologize.... that is a great tool that might lead to lots of sex instead of the occasional make up sex.

How do I tell my wife that she has cancer?
We just got the results in today but promised not to read the results until after the weekend. Well, I read the results and its as we feared.
I cant possibly hold in my grief, shell know I read them. I want to tell her tonite, if possible. I thought about before we make love.
Answer: Why did you break your promise? As most men (in my experience) are not very good actors with their wivesI think that maybe your wife already suspects the worst, and that's why she delayed reading the results...or maybe she already did and doesn't know how to tell YOU? She's probably getting the 'vibes' off you whatever the case. So, just tell her. That's all you can do, there's no special way, or any special words. You do not have time for 'grief' ...your wife is still very much alive and will need your love and support...not your 'grief'. That's selfish. Now is the time to show her what a friend you are to her. Think about being in her shoes and what you'd want your spouse to do. Think about giving her encouragement to get treatment as soon as possible, and remember how many cancers are treatable and how many people survive to old age after battling the illness! Be positive, inside you may be scared stiff, but tell her that you'll see it through together. No wallowing in self pity. Live day to day, enjoy each other. Nobody on this earth knows if they'll be alive tomorrow! Anything could happen to any one of us at any time. I sincerely hope that you're wife combats the illness and that this experience will make your marriage even stronger.

How can I let my parents let me visit my boyfriend for a weekend?
My boyfriend and I have been in a long distance relationship for 9 months and I have finally booked tickets to go and see him before he returns home for summer. I have booked the tickets from a Thursday- Monday. My parents have met him and like him but they are very Catholic and I dont think they would be comfortable with the idea of me staying alone with him for a weekend. He is 20 and I am 19. What should I do?
Answer: Whatever you do, keep the relationship a virtuous one. In other words, save sex for marriage. That's what it's meant for.

How much should you tell a sixth grade boy about the "birds and bees"?
Ive been asked to lead the small group sessions for the sixth grade boys at a churchs student discipleship weekend. The theme is pure love. How much info do you think is too much at that age?
Answer: What a wonderful undertaking you are about to have. You will be surprised and maybe shocked by how much a 6th grader already knows about sex. You will be equally shocked and dismayed by how much of it is inaccurate. I would start out by asking the group what they think the words "Pure Love" mean to them. Allow them to have the discussion with you instead of the other way around. If they ask direct questions, answer them with honesty and very basic terms.
Love and Sex are two very different things, I would make sure they know that. Adolescents need to understand that love is something they can feel for many different people but sex is only for marriage, especially if this is a Church function. These kids need to know they can ask you anything and won't be laughed at or judged harshly by their peers. I have 2 children in 6th grade and they both know "the birds and the bees" straight forward and thoroughly.
I think your focus should be on "Love" and what it means to them and only turn to sex if it is brought into the discussion by the boys. If you focus then on the difference in the two, you will have a very successful weekend.
Good Luck to you and have fun!!

Why do i get so bugged when my husband leaves for his National Guard Drill every month?
He leaves for one weekend a month. And the week before he goes we always argue and the tension in the house is bad. I get so emotional when he leaves. I know hell be back come Sunday. But I work myself up every month. I even get mean and the littlest things he does bugs me. Its so weird its only before he goes. I do hate being alone when hes gone but I have our kids around. Help me. Dont answer if your going to be rude.....
Answer: You obviously know what the problem is. You don't like it when he leaves you alone. So make the best of it until he no longer has to leave for drill. How about making plans to go away with some friends on the weekend when he leaves? A type of "mini-vacation" that both you and the kids will like, to keep your mind off of him being away. Or, go with him and stay off base in a hotel. If not, you have to grow up and learn to live with this minor glitch in the marriage. It's only 1 weekend a month. And, it's temporary. It's not going to be forever until the end of time! So get over it. Besides, all the arguing, meanness and tension will start making him dislike being around you, and that could put your marriage in jeopardy. Men hate a nagging, volatile wife and he could jump into the arms of a more understanding and caring woman. So be veeerrry carful with your words and actions. Take up a hobby to occupy your time, or take the kids someplace they would enjoy. Be thankful for what you have and try to be more understanding. Good luck.

How to tell an irrational/verbally abusive person you want divorce?
Hello!
Last weekend my husband of 12 years (always been verbally abusive) told me that if I did not have sex with him he would force me to. The next day told me if a woman were to leave after all these years then the man may just kill her.
I want to tell him I want a divorce but, I am scared. I dont know how to tell him this in a civil way without him ranting and screaming and yelling at me....Any ideas???????
Answer: It might be that he is very explicit about what he wants as part of your marriage. You on the other hand, are becoming incensed on his being frank about a very important part of a couple's life together. The fact you are so upset indicates you know you lack a willingness to deal with this issue in a practical fashion. Read the words...that was not a threat, it was innuendo which is not grounds for action. The sex thing too was words, not action. In other words, using nice words that suggest addressing an important issue with you doesn't work...the words are getting stronger and more demanding because you are not listening or acting to correct a valid void in your relationship.
From your brief post, I'd say it is more your issue than his. You might consider this before tossing 12 years of marriage down the hole.

Is it okay for me to have feelings for my second cousin?
Im 18 and she is too. She is the daughter of my cousin. And I think I like her, but its weird. My mom says she aint related to me genetically or whatever. Is this okay? In the Word of God it tells that there were people that marry their first cousins. A lot of people who experience this say its okay but I need to really know if its okay and if I should stop thinking about her. For it can lead me to fall in love with her.
Answer: There is alot of research done on this all over the web. You are young but when it comes to having children the percentage goes from 3-5 percent (no relation) to 4-7 percent (first cousins) for genetic defects. The US is the only country that has states within it that outlaw cousin marriage. In lots of countries it is actually encouraged. Lots of people like to use the bible to discourage cousin marriage however none of them bring scripture to the table. The truth is there is more evidence pointing that God is not concerned if you marry your cousin. I guess the only real hurdle you should worry about is your families reaction. I know this isnt quite the same but just this weekend I met my 4th cousin and we are very much into each other. We are a bit older, but I have never met anyone quite like her in my life. I have more in common with her then anyone I have ever met before. In fact both of our families are pushing us to date. I guess if genetics arent against you and God isnt againts you then the only two hurdles you have left to worry about are whether or not your family is ok with it and if he returns those feeling back. I can tell you one thing I certianly wouldnt worry about the oppinions of these other knuckleheads that commented before me. They bring no actual real inteligent thought to the table accept for there uneducated oppinions. Good luck.

What religious rites does a Jew, a Muslim and a Christian practice under a weekend?
During a normal weekend, when and which religious rites does a Jew, a Muslim and a Christian practice? Like prayers etc.
Answer: Muslims have the rite to beat their wives every weekend and every other day as stated in the Quran.
Wife beating and marrying girls as young as 9 is a command practice as is not letting women out of the house to attend their father's funeral or in cases/countries, they aren't allowed to drive cars.
***Islamic fundamentalism establishes its thesis on the differences between the sexes and the conclusion that the male is superior, and hence, the female is a slave at his service. From the fundamentalist mullahs’ perspective, sexual vice and virtue are the principal criteria for evaluation of women. The most ignoble and unforgivable of all sins is sexual wrongdoing. Piety, chastity and decency are measured by sex-related yardsticks, and seldom applied to political and social realms. Fundamentalism conceives of woman as sinister and satanic; she is the embodiment of sin and seduction. She must not step beyond her house, lest her presence in society breed sin. She must stay at home, serving her husband’s carnal desires; if she fails to comply, she is compelling her man to commit sin outside the home.***

So beating your wife is a rite per the Quran and Sharia law that Muslim practice on weekends and every other day of the week.
One can't forget weddings occur on weekends. So Muslim men may marry upto four girls 9 years old girls. Muhammad set the example
***During his life Muhammad married eleven or thirteen women depending upon the differing accounts of who were his wives.***

*** it was suggested to Muhammad by Khawla bint Hakim that he should marry Sawda bint Zama, a Muslim widow, or Aisha, daughter of Um Ruman and Abu Bakr of Mecca. Muhammad is said to have asked her to arrange for him to marry both.[51]
Traditional sources dictate that Aisha was six or seven years old when betrothed to Muhammad[51][52][53] but the marriage was not consummated until she was nine or ten years old.***

And 21 of 25 Islamic prophets are of Jewish lineage. From Ismael to Muhammad, there is a 2500 year gap where Allah wisely and mercifully did not speak through Ismael's lineage. This means that Muslims at best heard Allah once in about 4000 years. In other words, Allah has chosen not to speak through Muslims most of history.as Muslims can't hear the Spirit of God today.
As Allonyoav says:
***Are you a real Jew? According to whom?
As far as Reform, who converted you, you are a real jew and need not divulge your status as a convert......So what does Orthodox think of converts to Reform Judaism? In the case of religion: generally as righteous gentiles***

In Jerusalem, on the Day of Pentecost, 120 Jews were praying to the God of Israel when the Spirit of God came upon them like the prophets fulfilling Joel 2 and Jer 31. Believers are in full communication with the God of Israel and so live a life full prayer....not hampered by having to pray to a god that does not answer all their lives.
In the Jewish scriptures, God is protrayed as living and active. When did God become unable to talk or act on His children's behalf? What this a law He place on Himself? No
So where does this idea come from?...except those who don't want to listen.
Hope this helps
