What do you think of this Y! news article on the homepage about Ron Paul spending $1 M on charter flights?

Its like the American press makes an effort not to mention Ron Paul when he does something good (win a straw poll etc.). And yet they find time to write mind numbingly useless articles such as this...... Is the implication here that Ron Paul is spending tax payer money (like Obamas current campaign tour)? Because hes not. Also, what the hell is the point of donating to a candidate if they arent going to spend the money flying around the country spreading their message as much as they can? http://news.yahoo.com/ron-paul-spent-1-million-charter-flights-100238492.html Rep. Ron Paul hasn’t led his Republican rivals in the polls this election season, but he has led in one category: spending on charter flights. ABC News and the Center for Responsive Politics have crunched the numbers and you might be surprised to know that the U.S. Congressman that just recently released a tax plan cutting $1 trillion from the federal budget has spent close to $1 million on charter flights. Paul has far outspent his nearest rival Michele Bachmann, who logged receipts totaling $439,000 on charter fights. And despite raising vastly more than Paul, Mitt Romney has only spent a third of what Paul has on charter flights: around $300,000 to $400,000. @ingsoc.......... Yes. I forgot we had the economic enlightened one in office. I guess theres no need to worry then. Hes got everything under control, "winning the future" and all.........lol @ingsoc......"the gold standards and the states making their own fiat money sound like great ideas to you?" You know perfectly well Paul couldnt do that without congress. Which means: It aint gonna happen. What Paul WOULD do is: End the occupations of Iraq/Afghanistan, repeal the patriot act (by not renewing it) and generally start respecting individual rights again. His position on the gold standard does not worry me in the slightest. @ingsoc......."So you know its an insane idea but trust him to make other decisions, that makes sense" lol...... At least hes not a lying sociopath like the current resident of the White House. That will do. @drixnot............"and here you are advertising that article." A grand total of 8 people answered this question.......lol Im sure the 2500 people that commented on it while it was on Y! homepage read it before I even saw it. @iris...... Sorry, but if youre trying to say OBAMA is getting "unfair" media coverage....thats bullsh*t. Hes not getting 99% positive coverage like 2008, but hes certainly not getting the short end of the stick by any stretch of the imagination. Also, I would contend the coverage has been getting more negative because his results (or lack thereof) are quite negative.
Answer: only you care about this story. The rest of us just disagree with 1780 view of the American economy Edit the gold standards and the states making their own fiat money sound like great ideas to you? So you know its an insane idea but trust him to make other decisions, that makes sense More hyperbole but not substantive response

Is Obama trying to "bribe" older voters with $250 checks?

.... like he does all the time with Congress? Or is he just paying back the $150,000,000 "bribe" he took from the pharmaceutical lobby? August 8, 2009 "Pressed by drug industry lobbyists, a White House deputy chief of staff, Jim Messina, confirmed in an e-mail message on Wednesday that the White House shared the drug lobbyists’ interpretation of the deal: that any health care overhaul would not include allowing direct government negotiation of drug prices or require certain additional price rebates." ( http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/08/us/08lobby.html?_r=1 ) August 9, 2009 "The drug industry has authorized its lobbyists to spend as much as $150 million on television commercials supporting President Obama’s health care overhaul, beginning over the August Congressional recess, people briefed on the plans said Saturday." ( http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/09/health/policy/09lobby.html ) What an amazing coincidence!
Answer: I received his tax cut check last year. When I filed income tax I discovered I had to give the entire amount back. So it will be with this check. The older people will not be fooled by this shyster again. He cut billions from our Medicare and now he cut millions from food stamps to give to the rich teachers. And the silly liberals still like this lying idiot.

Liberals, isnt Fox really rare and funbiased?

They say they are "fair and unbiased" (I know they say "fair and balanced" but they have said their news reporting is unbiased), but I think its more like "rare and funbiased" because it is rare to see people on a TV show having so much fun being biased. I do what c0ns suggest and watch both Fox and MSNBC. Today, I watched the live press conference from President Obama. Then I went to Fox. They were covering a fire, so I went to MSNBC, who was doing a summary of the press conference. I went back to Fox and caught their coverage of the press conference. So I saw both. MSNBC covered the press conference and had contributors on who simply were analyzing the message. Opinions were given on the strategy and on what Congress might do. Fox covered the press conference and had contributors on who accused the president of blaming Congress and spun it such that Congress was the hero and Obama was the villain. Their bottom line tack was to fault Obama for wanting a balanced solution to the debt issue such that no one side was bearing the complete brunt of the sacrifice. But that sounds fair to me, and it would sound faid to most people! Instead, the Fox message was like the Republican Congress message: fix the debt problem by taking from the middle class only through program cuts, but the rich gives up nothing, and they get MORE tax breaks. Your thoughts?
Answer: I watched Fox News once, for about 30 seconds. That's when I heard Ann Coulter say, as she and another person were discussing something about Newt Gingrich, that "liberals have no morals". I immediately turned the station and will never go back. I don't watch CNN for the same reason. It's just one big show to bash the other party....it's childish, ridiculous, and completely uncalled for. These so-called journalists that do these reports should be completely ashamed of themselves.

Obama presses Congress to extend middle-class tax cuts

... First Read: President Obama continued his efforts to push Congress to extend the Bush-era tax cuts for income below $250000 ... To start viewing messages, select the forum that you want to visit from the selection below.

Will the Bush Tax cuts be extended before Congress adjourns? Or will 0bama fail us again?

The voters sent a strong message to 0bama and the Dems on November 2. Your reckless spending is ruining our country. So, will the tax cuts be extended for everyone (most notably the people who REALLY pay all the taxes) or will the Dems continue with their failed policy resulting in high unemployment? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/11/12/liberals-press-obama-extend-bush-tax-cuts/ The President has veto power. If Congress brings the full tax cuts forward, will 0bama veto them? Does that help?
Answer: There will be an up or down vote in the house and a filibuster in the Senate. There are not enough Democrats to break the Republican filibuster. So the bill will fail. The Republicans were offered compromises and still will not allow the bill to pass. I do not see how you can blame that on Republicans.

can someone explain why media coverage of McCain may have been more negative than that Of Obama?

lol I dont think one needs to be a rocket scientist to give the correct answer to this question, but isnt the answer the most obvious reason? so if you run a badly managed campaign, and your VP choice cannot answer simple questions in a simple interview, and you make a fool of yourself saying you are "suspending your campaign" to try to look presidential...a stunt that everyone saw through, and tried saying you wont attend a debate that you committed to, and you look angry and mean and say "that one" during the debate, and you lie each time you open your mouth and your campaign is calling your VP choice a wack jjob and a diva and your campaign buys her and her family $150,000 worth of clothes...etc..etc..and on and on, while your opponent is running a great campaign showing that he is a good organizer and good chooser of surrogates, has good judgment does not look erratic but rather is steady and sends the same message consistently well...gee let me see, what do you think? can you imagine how mccain may have gotten more negative press coverage than obama? lol republicans are so lame.......

What is this new health bill all about?

Thought they were already through this and now hearing about it again? Can someone tell me what passed and what people are getting angry at? Tell it simple with details thanks!
Answer: Democrats dragged themselves over the health-care finish line in part by repeating that voters would like the plan once it passed. Let's see what they think when they learn their insurance costs will jump right away. Even before President Obama signed the bill on Tuesday, Caterpillar said it would cost the company at least $100 million more in the first year alone. Medical device maker Medtronic warned that new taxes on its products could force it to lay off a thousand workers. Now Verizon joins the roll of businesses staring at adverse consequences. In an email titled "President Obama Signs Health Care Legislation" sent to all employees Tuesday night, the telecom giant warned that "we expect that Verizon's costs will increase in the short term." While executive vice president for human resources Marc Reed wrote that "it is difficult at this point to gauge the precise impact of this legislation," and that ObamaCare does reflect some of the company's policy priorities, the message to workers was clear: Expect changes for the worse to your health benefits as the direct result of this bill, and maybe as soon as this year. View Full Image Associated Press .Mr. Reed specifically cited a change in the tax treatment of retiree health benefits. When Congress created the Medicare prescription drug benefit in 2003, it included a modest tax subsidy to encourage employers to keep drug plans for retirees, rather than dumping them on the government. The Employee Benefit Research Institute says this exclusion—equal to 28% of the cost of a drug plan—will run taxpayers $665 per person next year, while the same Medicare coverage would cost $1,209. In a $5.4 billion revenue grab, Democrats decided that this $665 fillip should be subject to the ordinary corporate income tax of 35%. Most consulting firms and independent analysts say the higher costs will induce some companies to drop drug coverage, which could affect about five million retirees and 3,500 businesses. Verizon and other large corporations warned about this outcome. U.S. accounting laws also require businesses to immediately restate their earnings in light of the higher tax burden on their long-term retiree health liabilities. This will have a big effect on their 2010 earnings. While the drug tax subsidy is for retirees, companies consider their benefit costs as a total package. The new bill might cause some to drop retiree coverage altogether. Others may be bound by labor contracts to retirees, but then they will find other ways to cut costs. This means raising costs or reducing coverage for other employees. So much for Mr. Obama's claim that if you like your coverage, you can keep it—even at Fortune 500 companies. In its employee note, Verizon also warned about the 40% tax on high-end health plans, though that won't take effect until 2018. "Many of the plans that Verizon offers to employees and retirees are projected to have costs above the threshold in the legislation and will be subject to the 40 percent excise tax." These costs will start to show up soon, and, as we repeatedly argued, the tax is unlikely to drive down costs. The tax burden will simply be spread to all workers—the result of the White House's too-clever decision to tax insurers, rather than individuals. A Verizon spokesman said the company is merely addressing employee questions about ObamaCare, not making a political statement. But these and many other changes were enabled by the support of the Business Roundtable that counts Verizon as a member. Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg's health-reform ideas are 180 degrees from Mr. Obama's, but Verizon's shareholders and 900,000 employees and retirees will still pay the price. Businesses around the country are making the same calculations as Verizon and no doubt sending out similar messages. It's only a small measure of the destruction that will be churned out by the rewrite of health, tax, labor and welfare laws that is ObamaCare, and only the vanguard of much worse to come.

Are we Americans angry at senate?

For the past three years the United States Senate, under the leadership of Obama toady Harry Reid, has been an embarrassment for the United States. Now the so-called "Upper Body" has merely kicked the can down the road for two months on an extension of the payroll tax cut, and the House has rightly rejected the Senates maneuver. Americans need to kick the Harry Reid Senate down the road not for a period of months, but for a lifetime. We have a clear message for Harry Reid and his utter failure to lead the Senate: The nation is angry and our anger is directed at a legislative body that under Reids leadership cant do its job. Reid seems to think that his job is to force the Senate to follow Barack Obamas agenda. That would mean the Senate is obliged to put a rubber stamp on the presidents destructive fiscal policies. Hes wrong. The U.S. Senate is not Obamas footstool. The Upper Body needs to do what the late Bill Buckley once counseled the nation -- put up a red flag and yell "Stop!" The United States is so drowning in red ink that the monstrous debt this administration and our spendthrift Congress have amassed cannot be repaid even if America survives another century. Washington has saddled not only our children with a horrific debt, they have put it on the shoulders of several generations yet to be born. As we have just witnessed in Greece, the days of reckoning inevitably arrive for all spendthrifts. The piper must be paid, and he wont wait forever to collect his monetary due. Not long ago somebody asked a group of female Obama supporters how they think the United States can run up huge debts without going bankrupt. They replied that President Obama would see to it that the debts would be paid. Asked where the money would come from, they replied that Obama would come up with the money. Asked where he would find the money they replied that he would pay out of his "stash." They dont seem to understand that Obama hasnt got a "stash." What money he controls is our money -- our tax dollars -- and that kitty, thanks to Washingtons squandermania, is just about empty. Such widespread ignorance of the facts of financial life seems to be widespread. Americans appear to have bought into the idea that Uncle Sam merely has to print more and more money to keep us afloat on the financial seas. It has not seemed to have occurred to such people that the government printing presses cannot keep turning out paper money with nothing like silver or gold behind it without participating in a Ponzi scheme to end all Ponzi schemes. Paper money is exactly that: paper. And thats how the world sees it even if Americans dont. Michael Reagan kicking the can down the road again, if this was on Bush watch the liberal , would be out for blood.
Answer: Very good. I think your spot on but point is the libs won't take their head out of their gazoo long enough to see what is going on. Hunker down, the end is near. Put your savings into something that will be valuable in the near future. Protection and means of survival.

Is the Tea Party Just a Greedy Conspiracy that will Destroy Itself and Take the GOP down with It?

The Tea Party appears to be the creation of the Koch brothers, about whom another poster on Yahoo recently wrote: "The Tea Party is funded and directed by the Koch brothers. They direct the message. The Koch brothers are oil billionaires who have one of the worst safety and environmental records in history and whose father was a founding member of the John Birch society." Austin Goolesby recently defended the Obama tax plan. He said that we cant afford to borrow money to give a $700 Billion tax break to the millionaires. That kind of tax break wont do the economy any good. Its better to give taxbreaks to people earning less than $200K/year, and to small businesses. That kind of tax break will help the economy. Is it the case that McConnell, Boehner, and the Tea Party are all tools of the Billionaires Club and that they are playing Americans for fools to such an outrageous and obvious degree that even the most simple minded American conservatives are going to figure out by election day that the GOP and the Tea Party are both in the pocket of the Koch Brothers and their kind. Americans can only be manipulated so far with the Southern Strategy --- downplay the pocketbook issues, play up Bibles, Guns and Abortion. At some point, there are no suckers left. People will see that the Austin Goolesbe/Obama line of reasoning is much more reasonable than the McConnel/Boehner/Tea Party reasoning. Keep in mind that General elections, unlike primaries, are usually decided by the Independent voters. The independents are not as partisan, and not nearly as likely to be suckered by the Koch Brothers as the stooges who work for the Koch Brothers or their many partisan victims. Obama should say -- 15% rate for those earning 200K/year or less, take it or leave it -- the rest of the G.W. Bush tax reductions expire on schedule. If the GOP wants to play games and make everybody pay higher tax rates by rejecting the Obama proposal then on their heads be it. Prior to November 2, 2010, there will be no action on the tax issue -- just lots of huffing and puffing, lots of head fakes, lots of smoke a mirrors. Obamas position is crystal clear, and he will keep it that way. But the Koch Brothers are going to be all over the map, dodging a weaving, hoping to keep people confused, and make them vote GOP or Tea Party, which I think they will do. The House may go GOP in November. But know this -- The refusal of the GOP to be reasonable means the Pre Bush tax rates would be back for everybody -- The House would be faced with passing a tax cut bill FROM A STANDING START! Real hard to do, then get it through the Senate, then get Obama to sign it. The GOP victory in the House, wont be nearly adequate for a veto over-ride. So Obama can just not sign it. He can say, I made my offer, you turned me down, your intransigence caused taxes for everybody to be raised giving no break to people earning less than 200K/year --- Now you live with your decision. Obama can make that an albatross around the GOPs neck. Most Americans earn less than 200K/year. So, the GOP going in to 2012 is dogfood, and they did it to themselves, well .... with a lot of help from the Koch Brothers ..... nice work boys! Combinatorics and socio-political dynamics are not a playground. Politics is not beanbag. The author of this question worked for Nixon, Reagan, and Bush I and would be very grateful if you could desist from calling him a liberal. All Im saying is Austin Goolesby beats Koch Brothers by 2012 -- people will figure it out -- the GOP will have to live with their decisions, which I think are improvident (as, by the way, does Karl Rove but for other reasons). Real conservatives dont like what they see in this tax rate debate -- to us it looks like the handwriting on the wall for 2012 becoming a missed opportunity for victory.
Answer: Wow..No. Doesn't sound like you've been to a T.E.A. event. I have and it's none of that. It's real simple. Millions of average citizens have realized that the days of sitting on the sidelines are over. Government has gotten too damned big and corrupt. Too controlling and WAY too wasteful. The arrogance of Pelosi, Reid, and Obama during the healthcare takeover gave the tea party all the steam it needed. The goal is not to destroy the republican party but to reform it along with all of government. I don't know or care what the Koch's think and I guarantee 99% of tea party folks don't either. However this movement started, the folks have taken it over and if the Kochs or anyone else get in the way they will find out what it's about. Yes there are those who try to manipulate all of us (the press and talking heads for example) but the primary results are evidence that millions of Americans aren't buying any of it!

Want to know the truth about our new healthcare?

read on friends: Here are some facts straight from TIME magazine, CBO, and the Actuaries It’s Not a $950 Billion Plan The Obama administration has gone to great lengths to convince the press that the plan the president released on Monday would cost “only” $950 billion over ten years. At the moment, there’s no Congressional Budget Office (CBO) cost estimate to contradict the White House’s claim. Nor did the administration provide any cost estimate from its own HHS actuaries, even though the actuaries — not the White House press office — are responsible for developing official health-care spending estimates for the administration. An independent estimate from those who do this for a living showing the plan’s cost at $950 billion would have been very convincing. But that presumes the actuaries would agree with the White House assessment, which they almost certainly don’t. Their cost estimates over the past six months have consistently shown the health-care bills developed by Congress would cost much more than advertised, and well over $1 trillion over a decade. Worse from the Obama team’s perspective, the top HHS actuary has used every opportunity handed to him to say unpleasant things about the Democratic reform plans. Like, there’s no “bending of the cost-curve” going on in any them. And national health spending would go up, not down. And the deep and arbitrary Medicare payment-rate reductions that the Democrats are pushing would lead thousands of institutions into financial distress, thus jeopardizing access to care for many seniors. The last thing the Obama White House wants to do right now is hand the actuary a microphone. But CBO never said the Senate bill would cost “only” $871 billion over ten years. That’s Democratic spin. CBO said the cost of the so-called “coverage provisions” would cost $871 billion over a decade. But there’s plenty of other spending in the bill that is not directly related to coverage expansion. That spending totaled another $90 billion over a decade. So, no, it’s not a $950 billion plan. Not even close. All in all, it’s at least $1.5 trillion through 2020, and probably closer to $1.6 trillion. TIME: ...Again and again, their effort has brought us into a land of paradoxes. Public skepticism is warranted when the President promises to cut costs while simultaneously providing coverage to nearly 50 million uninsured people. It is even more warranted when his congressional allies seek to raise taxes to pay for all the new spending that this cost-cutting entails. We arent talking about short-term spending either; this isnt a trillion-dollar investment in a new system that will ultimately save money. The Congressional Budget Office says the leading health-care-reform proposals will increase health-care spending and make the budget harder to balance in the long run. Yet saving money is the Presidents principal stated rationale for reform. Health-care reformers send out mixed messages on the uninsured as well. The moral imperative of improving their health care is what drives the passion of most liberal activists for reform. But when you read the liberal policy analysts, it quickly becomes clear that getting young and healthy people to pay more in premiums than they will spend on medical expenses is the point of forcing them to buy insurance. Which is it? In aggregate, are we trying to rescue the uninsured or bilk them? Is reform something we are doing for them or to them? Now please sound off and tell me what you think- intelligent responses only please. This is a real issue that I feel was pushed down americans throats without regard to the state of the economy. dan & don dribble? these are facts straight from the CBO which were twisted to gain public opinion. Dont like it? No worries but saying that it has anything to do with another party or Glenn Beck is not intelligent. Regardless thank you for your post. Alex & Jon Indeed friends..I support neither although posting here on YAs, people automatically assume you are affiliated to certain ideas such as aggreement on the wars etc. I have five family members that serve/ serving in Iraq/Afgh fyi. regards Erin: could not agree more..this was a political stunt that will cost our nation dearly. it seems democrats are willing to pass a law by twisting numbers and then planning to "sell" it to americans afterwards? these are the same tactics they complain about but have no problem using. I am for healthcare reform. this is NOT the way. this is the way democrats believe they can win american votes since their grip has been slipping as of recent. regards Gosam: indeed friend. we have not calculated many more costs associated. this is the last thing we should be forced into accepting during a "recession" Bekindtoanimals....thank you for a comprehensive evaluation. most americans do not even realize the trouble the country is in...we are in a global recession and we are at the tip of the spear friends. our government has put a crushing debt on us but we will not pay it...it will be our children that inherit that debt. our generation will be remembered for the irresponsible spending and the lack of resolve to do what is right. let me say that those of you whom love to bring up military spending, george bush? etc...seriously. we are having a conversation about what is going on today and that is health care. the debates for those issues have already been tried. lets focus on not losing sight of what is happening today. again, I believe the poor need access to medical care but this is not the way. the government will bankrupt the system and us along with it. you can accept it and your children can face the consequences of irresponsible spending or we can ask for a different way. it is entirely up to you. as for me, I will be able to tell them that I did not want this bill and that I tried to inform the good people of our country that there is a better way. It makes me sick to my stomach that such a bill was passed when the majority of americans were not in favor. Pelosi says they will sell it to us after? who do they work for if not for us?
Answer: I agree with you 100%. I'm not against health care reform. I believe our system needs to be tweaked, but I disagree with this bill and the amount of control it gives the government over a private matter. What bothers me the most about this is that Pelosi and her gang were shamelessly determined to have their agenda pass the house in spite of the will of the people who elected her. So much so in fact, that they may have unconstitutionally bribed people for votes. In my opinion, this had more to do with political victory than it did ensuring the well-being of Americans. I'm really disturbed that this passed without the support of the American people. The whole gavelled-entrance show that Pelosi put on Sunday morning, walking arm-in-arm with a line of her fellow yea voters up the steps and making a spectacle in front of protesters was disgusting.

Why Is This Message Censored By Yahoo?

Can someone point out a TOS violation in the following: With Democrats proposing to set the top two income tax rates at 36% and 39.6% respectively, Republican leaders waged a ferocious battle on behalf of the wealthiest American taxpayers. Former House Majority Leader and current Tea Party moneyman Dick Armey warned, "This program will not give you deficit reduction." Ohios John Kasich cautioned, "Its our bet that this is a job killer." And for his part, 2012 White House hopeful Newt Gingrich promised, "This is the Democrat machines recession, and each one of them will be held personally accountable." As it turns out, the year was 1993, not 2010. At issue was President Bill Clintons $496 billion program of stimulus and upper income tax increases. And what Republicans then decried as disaster ushered in the longest economic expansion in modern American history, a period which produced 23 million new jobs and a balanced budget. But that hasnt stopped the GOP brain trust from resurrecting their 1993 predictions of gloom and doom, forecasts which were spectacularly wrong. Launching his campaign for House Speaker, Minority Leader John Boehner on Tuesday decried President Obamas "job-killing tax hikes" and called the expiration of the Bush tax cuts for the rich "a recipe for disaster - both for our economy and for the deficit." His Senate counterpart Mitch McConnell told Fox News, "It would be a disaster." On Meet the Press last week, Dick Armey rejected the notion of returning the tax rates for the top 2% of earners back to their Clinton-era levels, mocking Obamas "new cockamamy ideas" and insisting the President "not raise taxes and take away the return on an investment" And as Newt Gingrich predicted in July: "This economy will sink deeper into recession. There will be higher unemployment. The recovery will be longer." If this all sounds familiar, it should. After all, as ThinkProgress, Congress Matters and Andrew Tobias all documented, pretty much the same people said pretty much the same thing back in 1993. If Barack Obamas experience with Republican obstructionism has been painful, Bill Clintons was unprecedented. When Clintons 1993 economic program scraped by without capturing the support of even one GOP lawmaker, the New York Times remarked: Historians believe that no other important legislation, at least since World War II, has been enacted without at least one vote in either house from each major party. Inheriting massive budget deficits and unemployment topping 7% from Bush the Elder, Clintons $496 billion program was nonetheless opposed by every single member of the GOP, as well as defectors from his own party. As the Times recounted, it took a tie-breaking vote from Vice President Al Gore to earn victory: An identical version of the $496 billion deficit-cutting measure was approved Thursday night by the House, 218 to 216. The Senate was divided 50 to 50 before Mr. Gore voted. Since tie votes in the House mean defeat, the bill would have failed if even one representative or one senator who voted with the President had switched sides. (Its worth noting that while Bill Clinton met with total opposition from Republicans over his economic program, neither Ronald Reagan before him nor George W. Bush after was similarly subjected to scorched-earth politics from Democrats.) This was censored on Yahoo Message Boards so can the unhelpful sarcasm I asked a question, it preceded the question mark in the header. I asked two questions Why was this message censored by Yahoo? Where is the TOS violation? I dont know how to make it any more clearer than that and it would be really stupid to ask those questions with the relevant message text That should be WITHOUT the relevant text Well no one answered this correctly and I figured it out myself. On the Yahoo Message Boards I cant use the name Dick Armey, it has to be Richard Armey or D**k Armey (No Im not kidding) I guess I shouldnt be the least bit surpirsed that poepl over here are as clueless as the Censors on the Yahoo Message Boards. Id thank you for the help but I didnt get even the slightest bit what so ever here
Answer: It was a message not asking a question so it was a violation.

Why is this Ron Paul senior aide & Bob Barr aide pleading for Libertarians to vote McCain/Palin?

FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE, SOCIALLY TOLERANT, PRO-DEFENSE! November 2, 2008 I have been a lifetime Libertarian Party activist, for over 25 years. I’ve served in numerous capacities, including on the Libertarian National Committee, as a Libertarian State Rep. candidate, and as Ron Paul’s Personal Travel Aide in his 1988 Libertarian Presidential campaign. I’ve also served as Ron Paul’s Congressional Campaign Coordinator and as his Senior Congressional Aide for 7 years, 1997-2004. This election year, I’ve been supporting Libertarian Presidential candidate Bob Barr. As a matter of fact, I’m the very guy who recruited his running mate Wayne Root into the race. Since the Spring, I’ve been the Party’s lead petitioner around the Nation. I’ve collected tens of thousands of signatures to get Barr/Root on the ballot in Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine and Rhode Island. However, I was greatly encouraged by McCain’s pick of Sarah Palin for his VP. Palin has a solid libertarian background. In 2005/06 she was the guest speaker at two Libertarian Party meetings in Anchorage. She Up until now, I’ve encouraged my fellow Libertarians to follow their conscience and vote for either McCain/Palin or for Barr/Root, if it suits them better. I now believe, two days before Election Day, that this campaign is just too critical to risk on such a strategy, and if Libertarians won’t put the liberty of our country ahead of our party ambitions, who else in this country will? Obama is fundamentally opposed to virtually all libertarian stances on all issues. From taxes, to freedom of speech, to protecting property rights, to putting a halt to the ever-encroaching Nanny-state, and 4 years of an Obama Presidency will have disastrous results for liberty, and supporters of the limited government view. As evidence of this, Obama has taken to lodge a full frontal assault on the libertarian movement within the last couple days. In two separate speeches Obama accused McCain/Palin of supporting tax cuts because they believed in the “Virtue of Selfishness." ABC News confirmed that the phrase was most likely a direct hit at libertarian icon Philosopher Ayn Rand. By attacking Individualist philosophy, in essence, Obama has declared war on libertarians and the libertarian movement in these closing days of Election ‘08. How should libertarians respond? It is now my strong feeling that libertarians nationwide, and most assuredly my fellow Libertarian Party members, should strongly consider casting their votes for Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin. The libertarian movement would be best served with an Obama defeat. Bob Barr has been polling around 1 to 1.5% in recent polls. A Research 2000/Daily Kos poll released just Friday, had Barr at a full 2%. That is more than enough to cause McCain/Palin to go down to defeat. As we all know, a good 90% of Libertarian votes come directly out of the GOP column. I urge my Libertarian friends, especially those in “swing states” to shift these final days to McCain/Palin. Those States that are especially critical include: New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada. McCain/Palin lead Obama/Biden in the latest poll out of Wyoming with 68% to 32%. A Libertarian vote cast for Barr/Root in Wyoming, or even Utah, Idaho, Alabama, Kansas, and my native Texas, would not cause any harm. But Libertarians in the critical swing states must now weigh their vote very seriously and with great caution. Do we want a guarantee of tax increases for virtually all taxpayers, more federalization of education, more pork barrel spending, and continuation of affirmative action quotas, a return of the so-called Fairness Doctrine intended to silence the voice of libertarians and conservatives across the nation? Or, do we want a friendly ear in a confirmed Libertarian Party friend and ally in the office of the Vice-Presidency of the United States. For these reasons, I am voting for McCain/Palin on Tuesday and I urge all of my Libertarian friends to do the same. Our party has made great gains and that is important. Nobody in the libertarian movement has worked harder than I have to assure those gains. But at this moment in history, we must stand with our conservative friends, against a massive affront upon liberty and freedom itself. I call upon all freedom loving libertarians to consider this situation carefully and stand with me! Eric Dondero LIBERTARIANS FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE, SOCIALLY TOLERANT, PRO-DEFENSE!
Answer: I am a Libertarian supporting McCain in this election. For the longest time, I was undecided as to whether I would support Bob Barr and vote my heart or vote McCain which is essentially me voting against Obama. As I'm based in Chicago, my vote will not count. Obama will win this state. I decided that I would support McCain after the RNC convention and after hearing Obama's disdain for the Constitution, disdain for Rich people, his spread the wealth, socialist philosophy, his arrogance, his radical associations and his absolute disaster of a taxation policy that will harm the middle class more than help it. I work for big business. In this economy, a business tax increase would send more jobs overseas. I decided that McCain is someone I can at least respect and though I disagreed with him regarding the bailout, I don't get the sinking feeling that liberty will be flushed down the toilet under a McCain administration. 8 years of Obama and his Big Government ideas pressed me to do whatever I can to not send our corrupt politician to the White House. I wish Bob Barr the best on his run. I hope to see him, Wayne Root and Ron Paul get out there and sell the American people on Libertarianism. I am doing my part by spreading the message and challenging the thinking of those who think the government is more qualified to save us than we are to save ourselves.

Republicans cant handle the truth?

Well guys what do you think of this story? Do you think that the media really picked ole Cindy and Mcsames bones clean? Or is he so old his bones was like that when he came on the show? I think they got mad when Barbara Walters caught ole Mcliar in a lie when he approved a message saying Obama was trying to teach sex ed to 5 year olds, when he was teaching against molestation. He also was caught in some other lies as well. Oh I guess it goes to show how the Republicans do us. Opinons? CNN) –Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, criticized the media at a weekend fundraiser, telling supporters that the hosts of The View “picked our bones clean.” "In spite of what you see …in the newspapers, and on shows like The View — I dont know if any of you saw The View yesterday, they picked our bones clean — in spite of what you see, thats not what the American people are saying and what they are believing," said McCain, in a recording obtained by ABC News. "They are now seeing a clear difference with these candidates, and they are seeing who is going to make the best president, and thats why were pulling ahead." Earlier: CNNs Bill Schneider on Cindy McCains tough tone at the GOP convention John McCain had a tough exchange with the hosts of The View during a recent appearance, during which he was pressed on the credentials of running mate Sarah Palin, claims in his campaign ads that co-host Joy Behar called “lies,” and how many houses he and his wife own. Watch John McCain get grilled on The View Filed under: Cindy McCain
Answer: The truth is a wonderful thing. McCain knows it well. shame about the attack dogs for the the democrats that can not see or understand truth. Ask Obama when life begins? He says he doesn't know. Ask him to cut taxes, and he says for 95 % of the population when well under 60% pay any at all. I love the candidate that understands truth , and will live with it. I can not support a man that does not understand that he wants me to believe he is a leader but has never shown any leadership in his life. My hope is that you will awaken from your dream and turn to what is right and good,

OBAMA PRESSES TAX CUT MESSAGE – Politico | LICOOP

Obama presses tax cut message. Politico President Barack Obama used his weekly address to urge the American people once more to contact members of Congress and press them to extend tax cuts for the middle class.

Conservative Republicans, how do you feel about the recent events and circumstances...?

- The killing of public enemy #1 -Osama Bin Laden under a Democratic administration - The Donald getting publicly humiliated by Obama and then chickening out from running against him - Gingrich backstabbing Ryan and admitting that his plan is "right-wing radicalism" and than flip-flopping - Having a pitiful choice of GOP Presidential hopefuls - The most Conservative district in NY voting in a Democrat Which one stings the most?
Answer: Weeelllll, Wilbur! I have to congratulate you. In one single question, you have exposed in all the responders, who obviously are cons and Republicans, that they really do, without a doubt, live in denial. Or they are not big enough to admit when they have lost a round or two. It's painfully laughable. Clearly each and every one of your points is a plus for the Democrats and President Obama. This is not subject to opinion. - In 8 years, Bush couldn't get Osama bin Laden. Even said he was no longer looking for him! Then Obama takes him out, making decisions like using Seals and overseeing the strategy and details of the operation. No brainer. Obama scores a big win. - Donald most definitely made a mistake walking into that press corp dinner. Obama, with Seth Meyers, paid him back in one shot for all the attacks Trump launched. Trump's ego was devastated. Obama smiled, laughed, and looked relaxed. Trump was irritated and appeared to have a stick up his butt. Obama wins. Trump, you're fired. - The Gingrich thing was a gift that fell into the Dem's lap. winner Obama; loser the entire GOP - The GOP hopefuls. Because of them, I heard what GOP stands for, Grand Old Party, will be changed to Gullible Old Putzes - Finally, losing Jack Kemp's congressional seat, which they had for 40 years, is a MAJOR loss along with the fact that a nation-wide message was sent to the GOP: "You need to cut spending to deal with the debt, but instead of you suggesting that tax breaks to big oil and the rich stop, you instead want to end my Medicare that I've been paying for out of my paychecks for 30 years and give me a voucher that won't cover half of the cost!!?? We still have a vote we'll give to the Democrats!" BIGGEST WIN FOR OBAMA, BIGGEST WIN FOR THE DEMS, AND THIS ONE SHOULD STING THEM THE MOST. (But they'll never admit it. Not in their nature!)

Regarding 2012, are liberals getting their message out to people other than themselves?

Personally, I feel like the liberal outlets arent doing a good job reaching independents and republicans. First example: President Bill Clinton has been in the news lately. Hes talking about the GOP candidates and why Obama will win as well as recently criticizing republicans on health care. Firstly, Clinton wasnt exactly the most popular president (recall Monic Lewinsky and Bushs election in 2000) Second, hes speaking at non-telivised liberal dinners, with hardly any independents and certainly no conservatives Second example, there are many anti-Bachmann blogs, with the purpose of making sure independents are scared of her before she gets the chance to face Obama. But other than liberals who have already made up their mind about her, who will bother to read them? Most independents dont know who she is and if she gets the nomination, she will enter the race clean, and independents will have open minds about her. Thirdly, the GOP 2012 candidates refused to attack each other and have teamed up against Obama. At the NH debate, Obama was getting hit every 10 seconds. The democrats have hardly even looked like they tried to defend themselves. What do you think?
Answer: Good points. But here's a key point to consider. The G0P and TEA party themselves are getting the Dems' message out to the people by demonstrating that they are arrogant, greedy, do not care about the American people (i.e., the Ryan budget plan), and want the middle class to sacrifice while the rich makes no sacrifice at all. That is an indefensible stance as polls show that the people are now aware, thanks to the president's press conference last week, and 68% of the people polled believe the burden should be shared via a combination of tax cuts and revenue. To the observer, it appears the president is for compromising but the congress G0P isn't willing to compromise.

Obama presses Congress to extend middle-class tax cuts | What ...

Seeking to avoid the approaching “fiscal cliff” of expiring tax breaks and steep budget cuts, Obama yesterday pressed Republican lawmakers to extend tax cuts for families earning less than $250,000 a year. If approved, each middle-class family can save an average of $2,200 next year. “My message to Congress is this: Pass a bill extending the tax cuts for the middle class; I will sign it tomorrow. Pass it next week; I'll sign it next week,” said Obama. “Right now, our top ...
