How does a person deal with a boss who is a control freak?

The lady I work with seems to think that she is so far above me that I am not suppose to question anything she does or says. I acutally have more experince and training in our line of work. it is in a hospital and to protect the patients, I feel I have to say something at times.
Answer: What should you know if you're the victim of an abusive boss? Here are today's five tips. 1. Identify the behavior. There are all kinds of abusive bosses. The Institute classifies them a few different ways. There are the constant critics who use put-downs, insults and name-calling. They may use aggressive eye contact to intimidate. There are also two-headed snakes who pretend to be nice, while all the while trying to sabotage you. Then there are the gatekeepers -- people who are obsessed with control -- who allocate time, money and staffing to assure their target's failure. Control freaks ultimately want to control your ability to network in the company or to let your star shine. Another type is the screaming Mimis who are emotionally out of control and explosive. 2. Don't take it lying down. If your boss has a difficult management style, you don't have to let their bad behavior go. You can respond -- just remember to stay professional. So, if your boss insults you or puts you down, Susan Futterman, author of "When You Work for a Bully" and the founder of MyToxicBoss.com, suggests responding with something like, "In what way does calling me a moron or an idiot solve the problem? I think that there's a better way to deal with this." If you find out that your boss is bad-mouthing you to higher-ups in the company, confront them directly and professionally. Get the evidence in writing from your source if you can. Then, ask him or her what is causing them to do this. You could say, "I've been hearing from other people in the company that you're not happy with my work, you and I know that this isn't the case and I want to talk about how we can fix this." CNNfn's Gerri Willis shares five tips on how to deal with an abusive boss. If your boss has been defaming you, that's illegal. You may want to consult an attorney. If your boss is a control freak who's breathing down your neck, you should address it. Say, "I can't function effectively if you're going to be micromanaging me and looking over my shoulder all the time. If I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, let's talk about it. But this isn't working." If someone screams at you, don't be a doormat. If you've made a mistake, acknowledge it. But let your boss know that they're creating a difficult work environment. Even if you haven't made a mistake, you may want to calmly ask what they're upset about and if you can address it. 3. Take notes. Documenting your boss's bad behavior is key for two reasons, according to Futterman. First, you might not even realize the extent of the problem. Futterman explains, "Taken in isolation, these events may seem trivial, but taken as a whole, it often becomes more clear what's actually going on. Some victims may be in denial or discount these events as isolated incidents. Your written records can document how severe the situation is." And, of course, if you decide to take legal action down the line, you may need the information. It's best to document these incidents as soon as possible so they're fresh in your mind. Documentation is also important if you plan to report the behavior to your boss's boss or to your company's human resources department. And don't dismiss the idea of taking the bull by the horns and working toward a solution. Try arranging a face-to-face meeting with your boss. Tell them you want to discuss the problems you've encountered because you want to resolve them. Chances are often slim that this will work, however. If they reject the opportunity to discuss things with you, add that to your documentation. 4. Know when it's too much. Bosses may exhibit bad behavior sometimes. Hey, no one is perfect, not even bosses. But if your boss is abusing you, that's a problem. The problem takes on greater urgency if the abuse starts to make you feel bad. If you chronically suffer high blood pressure that started only when you began working for your boss; or you feel nauseous the night before the start of the work week; or if all your paid vacation days have been used up for mental health breaks. When the bullying has had a prolonged affect on your health or your life outside of work, it's time to get out. It's also time to leave if your confidence or your usual exemplary performance has been undermined. Ironically, targets of abusive bosses tend to be high achievers, perfectionists and workaholics. Often bully bosses try to mask their own insecurities by striking out. 5. Control your destiny. Even after you leave your nightmare boss, you'll still have to explain why you left to potential new employers. Futterman advises against dramatizing your old work situation. One way to gracefully sidestep the issue: say you and your manager had a longstanding disagreement over the most effective way of getting things done and you thought the most professional way to resolve it was to move on. What IS the US government doing to help the rest of the world?

I just got an answer that the US government is doing more good than bad to the world. Taking into consideration all the people it has killed in the past years including Americans, that it would not sign the Kyoto treaty to protect the enviroment and that it was not able to HELP ITS OWN PEOPLE WHEN KATRINA STRUCK, please answer me. What good has it done in the past 10 years?
Answer: Well, there are many great things this country does for the world. Take into consideration how our sucessful econmy effects the rest of the world. When terrorats attack America they are attacking the global econmy. Recently we have removed that filthy vermin Sadam from power. We have destroyed terrorats training camps, we have brought freedom and demoracy to Iraq. We are going to prevent Iran from making nukes. We have always and continue to offer people from anywhere in the world a place where they can come and build a safe home and future for themselves. Our scientist and corporations are responsible for making life saving medicines and life saving equiptment. We are leading the world by example. People around the world are moving here not leaving here. We give millions of dollars in forien aid. I could go on and on. This great Nation is built on the principal that if you do not like the directin our government is going you can change it. So either get involved in politics, stop whining, or move! As for your statment that we are or were unable to help our own people when Katrina struck. People and nations alike make mistakes. Then we learn from them. We are doing the best we can and you can bet we will do better next time. Consider this, would you rather be in the United States when a disaster strikes or in some other country. Keep in mind here in the USA if you are hit by a truck while crossing the street someone will dial 911 and an ambulance will be on the scene within minutes and you will be on your way to recieving the best medical treatment from the finest doctors. We are helping the victims of Katrina, and for that matter we went out of our way to halp the sunami victims also. Taking into consideration the people we have killed.....Unfourtunatly sometimes wars have to be fought, and people die in war. The overall outcome is what must be considered. If 1 person must die to save a hundred is this acceptable? What if a 100 must die to save 100,000? If you could have killed Hitler and prevented ww2 would you have done it? I would have. Death especially from war is sad. Very sad. Any death, even the death of evil people. However sometimes it must be done. The media really brings the war into our living rooms. Most people don't realize that there were days during ww2 where more people died than the entire 4 years we have been in the Middle East. Days vs years. You seem to me as someone who just hates the fact people are being killed violently. Please consider the greater good.

I want to work putting tattoos, I am a college student and I wish to pay at least a little bit of my school tuition doing that if I can, but I dont know how to start. Do I just go to a tattoo place and hope they will train me if I work for free for a time once I start tattooing? or do I have to learn by myself at home and get my equipment? or how?
Answer: So, you want to learn how to tattoo or pierce? If you're serious about it, you'll do it the right way. The wrong way is by buying a "shop in a box" kit and trying to teach yourself. The right way is through apprenticeship - learning from a skilled artist with hands-on experience. Finding a tattoo apprenticeship, or should I say finding a good apprenticeship, is like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. There may be many offers with pricey dues, or no offers at all. With so many "traps" and cons out there, the hunter many times becomes the hunted. Don't become the victim of your own prey. Gear up, my friends! The hunt is on... Your Mission: Apprenticeship To find an apprenticeship within your means that will provide the proper training to get you into the business of tattooing. This is not a "get rich quick" scheme. You are looking for an apprenticeship that will last long enough to provide you with the proper skills needed - not just in tattooing - but also in sterilization, proper cleaning, and business management. Among these skills you may also learn things such as needle making, prepping, making stencils and every other aspect of the business. A complete apprenticeship cannot be accomplished in just a few months time. A good mentor won't even let you begin tattooing until you have learned all these other things. Your Prey: Tattoo Artists There are many out there - some good, some not. You must find a strong, able tattoo artist with plenty of experience, usually at least 5 years, preferably more. You obviously need to find one that is willing to take a budding new artist under their wing and train them. You will want to find someone that you believe you can get along well with, as you will be working side by side with them for an extended period of time. The Bait: Your Portfolio To show a prospective mentor your artistic abilities, you will need to carry along a portfolio of your best work. This can be drawings or paintings, but can also be pictures of wall murals, sculptures, or anything else artistic you have done. If you have had any formal training, bring along any certification you have received. This is not absolutely necessary though - if you have enough raw talent, your mentor will help you to hone these skills over the time of your apprenticeship. The Trap: Enthusiasm & Humility A prospecitve mentor is going to be looking for someone with a lot of enthusiasm and a real love for the art. If you walk in with the attitude that they owe you something, you're sure to leave empty handed. Knowing at least a little bit about the business is also helpful, and it doesn't hurt if you have a few tattoos! Your Weapon: Money Although there are a few artists out there that still offer free apprenticeships, these are few and far between. The other end of the scale are the artists that are more interested in your money than providing you with an education. You will more than likely be looking for a happy medium between these two - a price you can deal with and make it worth the artists time for training you. If you happen upon an artist that offers apprenticeship at no cost you have found a real gem. But don't think this means a free ride! You will have to work very hard and be as dedicated to your training as they are. Your Armor: Contract Be sure to sign a contract before all is said and done. This will protect you in the event that your apprenticeship does not turn out as you expected. Sad as it may be, serious deals cannot be made with a handshake anymore. Do not sign anything unless you agree 100% with the terms in the contract. Finding a piercing apprenticeship can be just as difficult, but the requirements are a little different. You're not going to be expected to have artistic talent, so you won't need a portfolio. You do, however, still need to attract the attention of your potential mentor. So, how should you go about it? Standing Out Needless to say, you are just one of literally thousands of hopeful future-apprentices. The competition is immense, and if you are going to have any hope of standing out, you've got to have something the others don't. So, here are some suggestions you just might want to consider: * Be respectful and presentable. I don't care if the studio is blaring heavy metal and the artists are dressed like thugs. You are there to make an impression. Don't assume that just because you're in a tattoo shop that it's OK to cuss, smoke or be obnoxious. Responsible managers may enjoy a comfortable environment, but they're not going to be interested in someone who acts like this is all fun and games. * Gain Knowledge. Obviously, no one expects or even wants you to already know how to pierce at this point. But you can study up on cross-contamination, blood-borne pathogens and sterilization. You will also want to learn as much as you can about human anatomy. You don't have to go to medical school first - just visit your local library and dig up as much information as you can find. If your local red cross or health department offers a course in blood-borne pathogens, take it! Every bit of knowledge you can gain before you begin your search will help you to stand out. * Be Sincere. Now that you have all this knowledge, the last thing you want to do is sound like a know-it-all. Share your enthusiasm for piercing with your potential mentor and use this as an opportunity to tell them what you have learned. Tell them why it was important for you to study these things, and why it is important to you to become a piercer. Be yourself, and be honest. * Be a Good Customer.If you want an artist to remember your name and face, the best thing you can do is become their favorite customer. If you're interested in being a piercer, I would hope you also have an interest in being pierced. Visit the artist, talk with them and observe, ask questions, get pierced and tip well. * Be Determined. If you find a studio that you just feel so comfortable in that you have to work there, let them know why you feel that way. Visit as many reputable shops as you can, and leave your name and number at all of them. Follow up on your first visit with a phone call, then follow up your phone call with another visit. Make it plainly obvious that this is really important to you. Synopsis: Finding a good apprenticeship is not an easy task. You may have to visit several studios before you find someone willing to take you in. You may not find anyone in your area, and relocation might even be a consideration. But the fact remains that if this is what you really want, it is more than worth it to do it right! Learning how to tattoo or pierce on your own is not only unwise, it is dangerous. You must be properly trained in sterilization techniques and how to avoid harming the customer. There is nothing more damaging to your own reputation than 100+ people out there showing everyone what a horrible tattoo or piercing you gave them. Or worse yet, the disease or infection they got as a result of your ignorance. Take your time and learn the right way.

Answer: Are you talking about sexual or physical abuse? If there is sexual abuse there may be anger, acting out, or promiscuous behavior. On the other hand, some victims try to make themselves as unattractive as possible to potential abusers so you might see lack of personal hygiene, overweight, or other personal issues. If they're being hit, there should be signs of injury -- bruises, limping, etc. 16-17 is almost adult age, so many run away or move to another home by then. If they stay, they may be trying to protect younger siblings.

What legitimate defense purpose does the government military have?

How exactly is a government military superior at protecting a country than a voluntary guerrila force or militia? I am willing to concede that a government military is far better at invading other countries and killing innocent people, but how exactly is a government military better at its supposed purpose of protecting a country against attacks from foreign governments than the alternatives that naturally occur in a free market situation (provided that the government doesnt pass any victim disarmament laws)? Why not follow the advice of Thomas Jefferson and abolish the government military and replace it with a voluntary militia? Why not spend some tax dollars to achieve a goal of universal gun ownership in order to better protect America?

In college, are you more likely to be raped by a stranger or someone you know?

I am leaving for college and I am terrified of being raped, especially if I get too drunk or high. I dont know any of the boys and I have heard horror stories of girls passing out at frat parties and frat guys running trains on them and in the morning they know they were raped but they cant remember what happened so they just have to keep their mouths shut or look like a slut. What situations/places/people should I be aware of?
Answer: As mentioned above, someone you know. The stats vary based on the study, but it tends to be that over 50% are raped by someone who they know. It does not have to be someone you know well, just someone you've come into contact before, like from a club or a class (an acquaintance). Some situations where rape is more common are frat parties, parties with a lot of athletes, parties with a lot of males, places with alcohol and drugs. Of course alcohol plays a big role in being raped, both if the female and the male are drunk or just one of the two. The best ways to protect yourself if you do not want to avoid parties are to not get drunk/use drugs, leave if you feel unsafe, use the escort system that are in place at many schools, go with someone and have a buddy system in place where you watch out for one another, stuff like that. I know I reiterated what others have said, this is what I am covering in my class right now. A recent study found that about 90% of the victims knew their offender, with the three most common categories being classmate, friend, and boyfriend/ex-boyfriend. Most are assaulted in private dwellings, late at night, and with alcohol and/or drugs involved.

Answer: I am 4 foot 11 inches and weigh 98 lbs. I live in Texas where I acquired my Texas CHL (concealed handgun license) several years ago. I carry a full size Sig Sauer P220 .45 caliber handgun under my shirt, sweater, or jacket wherever I go. When I am wearing a skirt or dress that cannot conceal the full size weapon, I wear a small frame slim 9mm in a specially designed holster strapped to the inside of my thigh. I am well trained and know when, and when not to shoot. If I am ever in fear of my life or well being, I fully intend to kill my attacker without hesitation or remorse. I am not obligated by law to retreat if threatened. Americans have a right to defend themselves and there would be far less crime if citizens protected themselves as I do. I refuse to be a victim. While I cannot shoot anyone for any reason, I have the legal right to shoot in if I feel my life, or the life of another, is in immediate & imminent peril. The law protects me. It also protects you. Answer: No, you do not need proof of training, nor do you even need to be trained. You will NEVER do more harm than good if you attempt CPR. The person is already dead, you cannot make them more dead. And broken ribs happen so commonly in CPR even for those who have performed CPR hundreds of times. There has never been a SUCCESSFUL lawsuit against someone who has tried to perform CPR (meaning there have been scumbag idiots who have tried to sue, but get laughed out of court and none have actually ever won a lawsuit). For example, when you call 911 because someone isn't breathing and believe they're dead, the dispatcher will instruct you to do 600 compressions, even if you've never heard of CPR! You just put both hands on top of each other in the center of the chest, and press down. You do not need to breathe for the person, and you do not need to check their pulse. Furthermore, the American Heart Association now recommends bystanders to perform Hands-Only CPR (handsonlycpr.org). It consists of 2 simple steps. 1. Call 911 2. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest And if you didn't know, the AHA is who puts out new CPR guidelines every 5 years. That site also goes over commonly asked questions such as: "Is there a danger in jumping in and giving CPR without being trained?" Answer: "On average, any attempt to provide CPR to a victim is better than no attempt to provide help." And if you are protected by the Good Samaritan Law. Here's a fantastic explanation of this: "Q. Can I be sued for providing CPR or First Aid? A. You are protected by the Good Samaritan Law as long as you do what a normal prudent person would do in an emergency situation. This means: Don�t go weird and try to perform invasive procedures, such as cutting open the throat and sticking in a straw to help someone breathe or doing compressions over the throat. Unfortunately you can be sued, but not successfully, as long as you only do what is within your scope of training. Remember, if some one is not in your care, you must ask permission of the responsive victim if you can help. If they are unresponsive, you have implied consent.* CPR Rescuers, the National Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), the National Safety Council, the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross will all stand behind you if you follow these guidelines." *Just an explanation of implied consent. It means that if they were responsive, you'd assume they would tell you to do CPR on them. However, since they're dead, they cannot. Answer: Why not allow them? There was a time when firearms were legal on airplanes. Air travel was much safer then. All those answers dealing with air pressure must be from koolaid drinkers, because it just isn't so. During the 1960's America made some very bad choices, among those removing firearms from airplanes. A firearm in the hands of a trained law abiding citizen only makes the US safer. Had we had even one armed citizen on the plane, Tower 2 would have been prevented and the forth plane might not have crashed. I have zero tolerance for people who purchase a firearms without knowing how to use it. The idiot who says he hates guns, but keeps one in the bedroom and says he's never fired it, needs a swift kick in backside. You buy a car, you pass an exam, a driver test, you get a license and they take that license away if you drive recklessly. Apply the same standard to firearms. And allow the people who know how to use a pistol to carry it anywhere. The truth is, a Gun Free Zone is just another name for a good place for criminals to work. Disarming people ensures victims. They were not ever meant for the general public and in the past were only to control violent criminals, it's a trillion dollar industry that also has a added benefit for them by decreasing the population! Apart from being tortured with a direct energy weapon, They have also made 24 hours high emf radiation in my home and they are stating that it is the substation and power lines on the street next door! when other homes with larger substations and are power lines closer to their homes in my suburb and others don't have any. What is the best thing to carry to protect yourself from assault, robbery etc.?

Besides a gun... Something realistic and LEGAL. I read an article that said not to carry pepper spray because it can be used against you, same with a stun gun. So what can people carry to make themselves feel more safe from attack. What things can you have to help in this situation
Answer: Attitude stand tall, walk tall and act like you are in control. Bad guys unconsciously look for someone who acts like a victim Awareness of where you are and what is around you. As a college student I worked as a cab driver in the worst parts of my city. Most others got robbed, multiple times, I was never even threatened. Waiting to be the police I drove the midnight city buses (when we used to make change and had money) in the worst areas. Never got robbed. Bad guys got on the bus armed at least twice that I noted, and got off without bothering me or anyone on the bus. Why? attitude, I just refused to look like a victim. Pepper spray is good despite what you heard. The thing is. like everything else, you have to practice. You learn to spray at a face and not wait around to see if it works, it will work well enough for what you need to do next, run away, screaming if you are in a populated area. Most police catalogs sell lower priced cans with water in them for training. You are right about stun guns, they are useless for self defense. They do not disorient the bad guy fast enough adn unlike there claims the do not paralyze any one. Taser and another company do make a civilian model taser that you can fire from far away (the first thing you learn is to back away from the bad guy, fast). It only shoots one time and you just drop it an run. When a police report is made the company sends you a new one. They are expensive.

I dont think its necessarily true at all. It all depends on the individual girl. If a lady wants to protect others, and let other victims know that there is a woman who can fight like a man can, shell have to train physically and psychologically at a male level, and train hard. She needs to learn the strategies on how to defeat different assailants both male and female. It would be hard for most women as females are generally have a different physiology than that of males, but if she has the proper mindset for it, it can be very beneficial.
Answer: women are NOT condemned and doomed to be victimized by rapists, terrorists and pedophiles. it is the men who do not have respect for what they consider as the "inferior specie" and hence think that they have all the right to commit horrendous atrocities against women. well, it all depends on how they consider women in the society. for example, in congo, rape is inevitable because the congolese soldiers dont think highly of their female counterparts and use them as "weapons" of war. in india and most muslim countries, child-brides are prevalent due to poverty. the girls' fathers take them as just "material things" that can be sold for debt-money. what's more, since the beginning of time, men did not guarantee equal chances and equal opportunities to women solely for the incongrous reason that they (the men) were created first (according to the Bible) hence they are the superior ones or for the reason that they carry the "seed" of the next generation so therefore they should be given the best of everything before women. hence, it is just a matter of how women are treated in the society that determines whether or not that they are condemned to be ill-handled and mistreated in the most offensive ways by unforgivable acts.

Answer: You need to let them know that they are not victims but they are little people who experinced a bad situation and it's not their fault. Let them know since they have seen some nasty behaviors they will grow up teaching others how to overcome ugly violent behavior such as this. Let them know they would be great teachers cause they have seen first hand what violence causes. Let them know even though it's not fair they are separate from their family God call upon strong little souls such as theirs to help other people before it's to late for their family and this is why God is putting you in a well protected environment with lots of love. let them know God will put people in their way who will help them to be even stronger. I'm giving you some examples cause we have to use reverse psychology on these little souls. Many times when people know they are here for a purpose and is train not to feel sorry for themselves but to help others they are most likely to dwell on their future of successes. I've had a group home for 8 years and have change the life of many children who has been in violent situations. I had one to call me last night and told me thank you for being such a great woman and never turning my back on them. I have six children and have adopted 7. Answer: Confederate Victory: Chancellorsville 1863 General Lee had dispatched part of his Army to Suffolk, Virginia. General Hooker devised a plan where part of his Army would move on Fredericksburg while the bulk of the Army was to launch an attack on Lee. Hooker thought he could catch Lee between his two Armies and destroy him. Lee left 10,000 men under General Early at Fredrecksburg to protect his rear. He took the remainder of his Army and advanced on Hooker' main Army. Lee was outnumbered 2 to 1. Lee and General Jackson designed a plan whereby Jackson would take part of the Army and march around Hooker's position and strike him in area where Hooker had no defenses. The Confederates completely surprised the Yankees and drove them from the field. Unfortunately, Jackson was mortally wounded and Hooker's secondary force overran Early's men. Lee had to send two of his divisions to stop the oncoming Yankees in his rear. He was going to use the units to support the attack. The end result is that, although outnumbered 2 to 1, the Confederate Army was able to defeat the Yankees. One Federal victory in 1862 is rarely noted in the history books. General Curtis with 10,500 yankee troops moved into Arkansas. General Van Dorn commanded a Confederate Army of 16,000. Van Dorn had been brought in to command to stop the feuding between two other Confederate Generals who were bickering over who was in command. Curtis first formed a defensive position. Van Dorn instead, sent his Army in a flanking march to attempt to cut off the Yankees from their supply lines and block their ability to retreat. The troops did not move very quickly secondary to severe cold. Curtis had time to move the position of his Army to defend against the Confederates. The Confederate attacks were poorly coordinated as the commanding Generals (McCulloch, McIntosh, and Slack) were killed. The Confederates had an Indian Brigade that was part of the operations. They stopped to scalp their victims, but overall served well. When the attack stalled, Van Dorn discovered that his supply train had moved off and was 3 days away. Realizing he could not fight secondary to lack of ammunition, Van Dorn was able to withdraw from the field thereby saving his Army. The strategy used by General Curtis was one of defense. He reacted in changes in the positions of the enemy and was able to hold his position in spite of being outnumbered. This was the only major battle where the South outnumbered the North and that the North won the battle. Hope this helps.

What benefits are there to a community when a frightened woman is dragged to an execution site?

where she is then stoned for committing adultery? How does it benefit the community? Is the will of God served. Does it deter other women from the temptation to betray their sacred marriage vows?
Answer: Is it a deterrent? Id like to think so. Countries all over the world practice execution of some form or another, by the governing body. Perhaps for different reasons - but who are we to judge the values and moralities of a different culture/religion, and the practices that work for them? We are a "non judgemental" society, after all, so we should appreciate their diversity, and respect it. We practice capital punishment ourselves, after all. What crimes are deemed worthy of the punishment seems a rather arbitrary one, based mainly on the needs of the society. I see nothing wrong with having a severe punishment for murder, rape.. and yes, even adultery. Perhaps if our punishments were harsher, our crime rates would be lower. We so-called enlightened Americans slap people on the wrist and wonder why nothing ever changes. It does in fact serve society. In much the same way executing a murderer does. Such people are threats to the fabric of a society. Morality is not superficial. But even if you deemed it as such for the sake of argument, there is still a far more practical purpose to scorning adultery. A lot of westerners are biased. I will likely be down thumbed by them for this post. They are the sort that doesnt believe in judging, they believe in praising the adulterer as a victim of a bad relationship... praising the hedonism of infidelity and the violation of oaths and sanctities and promises, and legally binding relations. They are the amoral sort of "nothing can be wrong and no one can be judged", a bad mentality to have. And they dont mind if they are not a part of the equation, or the perpetrator of it... but they sing a different tune as the victim of such heinous practices, the hypocrites they are. To praise or support or protect the perpetrator of a crime, of an immorality, is a far greater crime in my opinion. It makes you someone who is just as culpable, morally, for the crime, a defender of the guilty after the fact, a conspirator of injustice, and a slough of other adjectives and crimes to be tacked on. Societies are built on cooperation. On law, on promises and fairness and justice. Marriage and monogamy alone are about a much tighter niche. A woman has just as much right to the support a man has to offer her as he does to her fidelity. They each have a right to fidelity. Evolutionary psychology shows that a man wants monogamy from a woman so he knows that the children he supports, the resources he offers and his life which he puts on the line to defend those children... are in fact his. A woman wants monogamy from the man also so that she can be assured that she will receive all the resources he has to offer without the risk of losing any of it. Its ingrained into us on a genetic level, and no amount of social training will undermine this notion, the power of jealousy or its perfect legitimacy. We have every right to expect monogamy from our partners... its implicit and need never even be requested. Marriage is a formality of the notion, a public announcement of an undying promise. Anyone who defends an adulterer is one themselves, in heart if not in action. We can all agree, whether you believe in capital punishment or not, that anyone who is a detriment to a society must be removed from that society. Being exiled in itself is often times very meaningless to those who perform moral crimes against the population in which they live, so I dont see how it constitutes a punishment... and without punishment there is no revenge, and there is no justice. If we sent our murderers and rapists to mexico, the victims and their families would not be satisfied. No, we lock them up, which constitutes a form of exile and punishment simultaneously. Some societies, such as a tribal one, is not capable of successfully implementing an exile, and the need for justice stands unattended. I dont see anything wrong with capitally punishing those people, particularly in a society where there is very little option elsewise. Adultery is still on the books in the United States as a felony crime in most states. But like any crime in a court of law, it takes "guilt beyond a reasonable doubt", ie sufficient evidence, to prosecute. The accusation of adultery is enough for a relatively easy divorce, but not enough to prosecute. Then even with the evidence you stand the risk of getting at least one, likely twelve, amoral douchebags who are guilty of the same crime themselves to stand jury. Even then, the legal system is backed up enough with prosecuting that perpetual crime wave their insufficient punishments promote, and so you wont find many DA's willing to prosecute in the first place. Oh, but it has happened, and with any luck will happen again. I know if I ever suspect a wife of adultery, I will gather all the undeniable evidence I can... and I will file criminal charges. I would like to point out your own biases. "When a frightened woman is...". Somehow its wrong in your eyes because, either she is a woman or because she is frightened. As though a courageous man who accepts his fate somehow doesn't deserve your sympathy? What does regret, fear, ones desire to self-preserve, or ones gender for that matter, have anything to do with the rightness or wrongness of capital punishment? Of course they are afraid. Isnt that the point? Of course they regret, isnt that also the point? One does not regret, and others will not change for the better, if there is no consequence to your actions. How liberal and modern of you to side with moral apathy and moral degradation - blind tolerance is not healthy. Nobody wants to die. And the very real threat of the possibility is important to get some people to be moral. You and many like you call yourselves moral relativists... you claim you are fully capable of morality... but look what happens when people neither fear God nor fear the State... they do what they want and hurt others in the process. People are immoral without the threat of severe consequence, one way or the other. An atheistic moral relativist isnt capable of morality. In our modern morally liberal society, fear of incarceration, fine, death, the fear of social ostracising, are all that stands in the way between moral and immoral behavior. And as society becomes more and more liberal, more and more tolerating and forgiving, the fear of the bad consequences diminishes. Its pretty pathetic. A great thing about religion is that it defines, objectively and without interpretation or circumstance, without the need for change or evolution or adaptation to a society... religion dictates right and wrong for all time and gives people legitimate fear of consequence for which they cannot weasel their way out of. Because weasels will weasel without religion. Just because people look at their fate with fear and regret doesnt mean they should be forgiven or treated leniently. Otherwise the entire notion of punishment and social conditioning for the greater good of civilization can be flushed. Might as well become a self-serving anarchic nomad. Capital punishment serves the purpose of detering people, and detering others, eliminating a threat and exacting justice.... more than it has anything to do with revenge or rehabilitation. Some people cant be fixed. And some crimes people dont deserve a second chance - like adultery.

What are the good Samaritan laws as it applies to nurses!?

If you see someone get injured in a car accident do you have to stop and help legally? Are good Samaritan laws uniform from state to state? If the driver and passenger our slightly injured is the nurse bound by law to assist them? Is the nurse liable if she unintentionally injures a victim?
Answer: Good Samaritan laws protect anytrained individual who comes ot the aid of someone in danger. No one is REQUIRED to respond, other than those called to the scene of emergency. Ethically, a nurse should respond, because that would be counterproductive, right? Laws do not cover, however, someone acting outside their scope of practice: meaning, doing sometjhing they are not trained or qualified to do. The laws generally cover unintentional injuries and such if the person is consenting . Generally stated, anyone that is unconscious is consenting. If the person responding aids the victim without asking (if theyre able to respond), or without first correctly assessing the situation (performing cpr on a breathing person), they may be held legally responsible.
