A Free-Market-Loving, Big-Spending, Fiscally Conservative Wealth Redistributionist

I. A Broken Economy As Barack Obama prepares to accept the Democratic nomination this week, it is clear that the economic policies of the next president are going to be hugely important. Ever since Wall Street bankers were called back from their vacations last summer to deal with the convulsions in the mortgage market, the economy has been lurching - David Leonhardt article says economic agenda Sen Barack Obama would pursue as president is both more left-wing and more right-wing than many people realize; discusses four basic elements: overhaul of tax code so that families making more than $250,000 a year pay more taxes and nearly everyone else pays less, investments in alternative energy, physical infrastructure and such to create middle-income jobs and address long-term problems like global warming, deficit reduction achieved through tax increases on affluent and winding down of Iraq war, and underlying faith in free markets to create prosperity; photos (L) - David Leonhardt is an economics columnist for The Times and a staff writer for the magazine. - By DAVID LEONHARDT

Jones Act and Illegal Aliens?

I am confused here. The President will not lift the Jones Act so that foreign vessels/workers can assist in the Gulf oil clean-up. Presumably, because the unions claim that foreigners will take jobs away from Americans. But why then is it OK with him for illegal aliens to sneak across the border and work in the US? Ocularnervosa, Im sorry,I guess you didnt get the memo. The Obama Justice (more or less) Dept. has brought suit to stop Arizona from enforcing the immigration laws of the US. Cali, can you cite a source for this "understanding".
Answer: "Why Won't Obama Waive the Jones Act?" "Five years ago, in the midst of another crisis in the Gulf of Mexico, the Bush administration waived the Jones Act, easing the way for foreign vessels to move in U.S. waters and between ports. The decision came with the administration under duress for its handling of Hurricane Katrina. Today the Obama administration faces a different set of challenges with the Gulf oil spill cleanup. But unlike his predecessor, President Obama has declined to suspend the law, even temporarily. Obama's decision has turned into a public relations headache for an administration already reeling from its oversight of the oil spill. European allies, longtime opponents of the Jones Act, have asserted they were turned away when making offers of assistance. The State Department acknowledges it has had 21 aid offers from 17 countries. Critics in both parties are now seizing on the issue to question the administration's competence. It took center stage at a House subcommittee hearing Thursday. Some critics have suggested that Obama is protecting the pocketbooks of his union allies by keeping foreign vessels at bay. But several Jones Act experts told me that makes little sense because unions have minimal influence in the Gulf. Foreign competition, therefore, would do little to hurt their bottom line. In addition, the Seafarers International Union, while supporters of the Jones Act, maintained good relations with the Bush administration. In 2000, the union donated $3,544 to candidate George W. Bush and nothing to Democrat Al Gore. Bush benefited with a $2,000 donation in 2004, while Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) received nothing. The union didn’t donate any money to candidate Obama in 2008. So why won't the Obama administration simply issue a blanket waiver, just as the Bush administration did in 2005? It would end the controversy and quiet a growing chorus of critics. The administration defends its stance by citing a well-established waiver process for foreign vessels. In short, a request to U.S. Customs and Border Protection prompts an inquiry to the Maritime Administration, which leads to a search of the U.S. fleet. If an American ship can provide the same services, the request is denied. Otherwise, the foreign vessel gets a waiver. That process differs from a blanket waiver -- the tactic used by then-Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff in 2005 after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The Bush administration justified the move by citing a need to transport oil and gasoline in the Gulf region. Jones Act expert Charlie Papavizas said the 2005 Katrina waiver, which lasted from Sept. 1 to Sept. 19, was used primarily to move cargo between ports, but it didn't result in any new foreign ships in the region. "Twenty days is not enough time to reposition and do anything useful," he said. Mark Ruge, who works with the Maritime Cabotage Task Force, was even blunter: "After the fact, if you look at Katrina and ask, ‘What was the advantage to the United States of America by blanket waiving the Jones Act?’ The answer is nothing came of that -- nothing that couldn't have been accomplished with the usual process. It was just one more thing you could say you did." The Obama administration's critics think otherwise and show no signs of relenting. Sen. George LeMieux (R-Fla.) pressed the president on the Jones Act during a recent face-to-face meeting. LeMieux said the action would signal America's allies that their help is wanted. Given the dire situation in the Gulf, what's the harm? Two other members from Florida, Reps. Corrine Brown (D) and John Mica (R), said their state is suffering while skimmers sit idle. At a hearing on Thursday, Brown held up photos of vessels in Mexico and Norway, asking, "What is the process for the state to take advantage of skimmers from other countries?" Mica trained his criticism on Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for failing to mobilize the entire American fleet. "U.S.-flag vessels have the capacity to bolster the current oil skimming and removal taking place in the Gulf of Mexico," he said. "Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen oil products wash up on the shores of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida while vessels, which could have been pressed into service, sit idle. This is unacceptable." With the spill cleanup reaching its 63rd day, is it too late for a Jones Act waiver to have an impact? LeMiuex believes there's still time for foreign vessels to help near the coast, given the uncertainty about how long the cleanup will last. He's disappointed it has taken the administration so long to act. This, of course, is the primary criticism of the Obama administration's handling of the spill. While the president says he "will not settle for inaction," his failure to waive the Jones Act -- even if for the sole purpose of sending a message to our allies -- suggests he's not doing everything he can." http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/06/21/robert-bluey-gulf-spill-katrina-jones-act-waive-obama/

If there is an investigation into Acorn, shouldnt it be the same for the 2000 and 2004 election fraud?

This is long...but worth it. In fact, this is so good, I might repeat this twice! Exit poles had Reagan behind by 8 to 10 points and he won. Exit poles had Gore ahead by 8 to 10 points and he lost. Exit poles had Kerry ahead by 8 to 10 points and he lost. We now have Obama destined to lose as it is being estimated that the exit poles will show Obama 6 to 10 points ahead of McCain! Dont let nobody fool you, the exit poles are a very reliable source to determine the outcome of an ongoing presidential election. There was an error percentage rate of only 3%. On December 13, 2004, at a United States House Judiciary Committee field hearing in Columbus, Ohio, computer programer Clinton Eugene Curtis testified that in Florida, the year 2000, he wrote a computer prototype for Republican Congressmen Tom Feeney of the 24th District that would rig an election by flipping the vote fifty-one forty-nine! In 2004, the exit poles (The International Gold Standard) showed that Kerry was winning fifty-one to Bushs forty-eight. The official results showed Bush winning fifty-one to Kerrys forty-eight point five! Raymond Lemmy was to give Curtis pertinent information regarding who was at the root of the voter fraud. He was later found dead in a Georgia hotel room. Cause of death: suicide. Police said they dont have photos of the suicide scene but later photos have surfaced showing blunt trauma and can be seen in a documentary called "Murder Spies & Voting Lies" by Earthworks Films by Patty Sharaf. More da@&%! liberals. Police produced a receipt that shows when Lenny checked out of the hotel. Research shows that if you commit suicide in a hotel, YOU DONT CHECK OUT! Clinton Eugene Curtis was given a polygraph test and was found to be truthful in all of his responses (Saint Petersburg Times). No need to debate me on this, its a matter of public record - all the details are here- look them up. Late in the evening of voting during the 2004 election, 6 states showed that the exit poles favored Kerry, the results suddenly veered off to Bush! (Matter of record) In Ohios 2004 election, Ward 1 Precinct 8, only 638 ballots were cast on election day. Bush received over 4,000 of those votes! Do the math. (Matter of record) In Cleveland where 83% of the voters were for Kerry, 23.93% of all the voters were purged. (Predominantly Democratic region) In Warren County, Ohio locked down the location where the votes were being counted and didnt allow any witnesses or news media inside claiming that it was ordered by Homeland Security. The next day Homeland Security said they knew of no such order. Ohios Secretary of States computer server, that reports the voting status, was moved during the night to severs located in Chattanooga , Tennessee, to a company called Smartech Corp which houses GOP servers including the National Republican Committee and Carl Rowe’s infamous email accounts! (Matter of Record) In Delaware County there was a last minute surge of 359 mythical voters who showed up and voted for Bush. How many church buses does it take to bring 359 voters to the pole all at the last minute? Im not making this stuff up! The Yang Corporation which manufacture voting machines had Republican Congressmen Tom Feeney on their payroll! (Matter or record) Ive run out of time... ps: Did Acorn kill anybody yet? ..... FOLKS !!! DONT FORGET TO ANSWER THE QUESTION !!!!! PEOPLE WHO MISS THE POINT... ...GO BACK TO SLEEP !!!
Answer: This entire administration has gotten away with far to much starting with the elections. I still believe that a proper investigation concerning both 2000 & 04 need to be had. This is in part why the congress has little regard in the polls as far as I am concerned. We thought the democrats would bring justice back into the system when elected back to control congress. They haven't tried. This is why we need more than ever a multi party system. The clowns in Washington need to be replaced nearly all of them. When we begin to vote multi party we will get choices. Until then we will get flip sides of the same coin.

Who here is naive enough to believe that Saddam would leave WMDs lying around and that Obamas taxes are less?

Obams tax plan is higherfor those who make more than 42 k I know you are there LOL come out of your closets libs
Answer: These people do, before they didnt, then did, then didnt again. United States weapons inspector Charles Duelfer released his extensive report last week, and confirmed that Saddam Hussein had shut down Iraq's chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons programs following the first Iraq war in 1991. His report also showed that Saddam had no stockpiles of WMDs after that year. With that said, it is interesting to look back at how the Democrats, like Bush, lied to the American public, and inflated Saddam's supposed threat to our national security. The mendacity was undoubtedly universal. Here are a few of the choice quotes.) "One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." - President Bill Clinton, February 4, 1998 "If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." - President Bill Clinton, February 17, 1998 "We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction." - Madeline Albright, February 1, 1998 "He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983." - Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, February 18, 1998 "[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." Letter to President Clinton. - (D) Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, October 9, 1998 "Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." - Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), December 16, 1998 "Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies." - Madeline Albright, Clinton's Secretary of State, November 10, 1999 "We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them." - Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), September 19, 2002 "We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." - Al Gore, September 23, 2002 "Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." - Al Gore, September 23, 2002 "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), September 27, 2002 "The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..." - Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), October 3, 2002 "I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), October 9, 2002 "There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), October 10, 2002 "In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." - Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), October 10, 2002 "We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), December 8, 2002 "Every day Saddam remains in power with chemical weapons, biological weapons, and the development of nuclear weapons is a day of danger for the United States." -Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) September 4, 2002 "If we wait for the [Iraq] danger to become clear, it could be too late." -Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del) September 4, 2002 "Iraq both poses a continuing threat to the national security of the United States and international peace and security in the Persian Gulf region and remains in material and unacceptable breach of its international obligations by, among other things, continuing to possess and develop a significant chemical and biological weapons capability, actively seeking a nuclear weapons capability, and supporting and harboring terrorist organizations." -Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) February 5, 2003 "Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..." - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), January 23. 2003

Obama says “Recovery efforts will trump deficit concerns.” Do you think Bush could get away with saying that?

How can most of you not understand the context of the question? Obama is saying that he is not going to worry about increasing the deficit because recovery efforts are more important! He is proposing more spending in his first year than the last 4 under President Bush.
Answer: No, President Bush would be hated for saying it. Our current Secretary of Treasury has said it. Only President Bush actually saying it would be bad. Our Secretary of Treasury actually stated that he would be fine with inflation to fight off a depression. This is economic suicide. However, back to President Bush. I am amazed at how the Democrats loath him. He has such a liberal stance on most issues. He expanded federal education, medicare, many social projects, senior citizen drug coverage, massive amounts of foreign aid (ranging from humanitarian aid to specialized Malaria and AIDS funding in Africa) and more. He bucked the conservative stances on immigration, health care, education, and so on. Amazingly enough, we elected a President twice that held many Democratic ideals, and they could do nothing but fight him tooth and nail. Near as I can tell, they hate him because his last name is Bush and he is a professing Christian. It is so funny that they ridicule him for being so dumb, and four years ago they put Senator John F Kerry against him. The Senator has a lower IQ than the President, and suffered equal amounts of foot in mouth disease. Back to President Bush. As president, he did little to shrink the size of government. In fact, he made new departments, rather than shrink the size of government. He reformed little; rather he expanded programs and created new ones (expanded Medicare and created No Child Left Behind). When attacked blatantly, he reacted similarly to famous Democrat presidents FDR and LBJ... He went to war. FDR, when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, he went to war against Japan and Germany. Germany!?! Yes, a thin alliance, that like all alliances with Germany, was doomed to be reversed. Bush attacked Afganistan, where the Taliban claimed credit for the attack on 9/11. Then he attacked Iraq, who had a thin alliance with the Taliban. Also, LBJ, entered the US into war with Vietnamn. A war that was soon protested with unprecedented furvor. And LBJ stayed the course. Bush led us into Iraq, and major protests erupted across the country. Yet, Bush stayed the course. Economically speaking President Bush is in league with Democrats. President Bush has sign and even suggested and applauded Democrat bills of 'Economic Stimulus' and 'Bail Outs'. Why is he so bad? Honestly I don't quite understand why Democrats are so disappointed with the last eight years. Please understand, I think President Bush has done the best he could. I don't believe in playing 'Monday morning quarterback' and solving all the problems with my '20/20 vision' looking into the past. History will decide if President Bush was a good leader or not. I am satisfied that he tried and the country is still in one piece and able to be passed down to the next generation. Yes, the country is in one piece. The economy maybe in turmoil, but people still have an abundance. Even the poor, on food stamps, still frequently have cell phones, and Ipods. We're doing alright. The local mall just had an expansion a few months ago when gas was over $4 a gallon, and the parking lot was full of people there to spend economic stimulus checks for the grand opening. When cars break down on the highway, emergency services clear the congestion and orderly traffic resumes. Our country, even in recession, is the greatest country in the world. More people need to consider that, before hating the President and our homeland.

If Obama wins Florida in this election, do you think hell reward former Gov. Charlie Crist with a Cabinet job?

Since Hillary Clinton has explicitly and repeatedly said that she wont serve as Secretary of State in a 2nd term for Obama, I could certainly see Obama giving Charlie Crist the job. It would raise Crists political stature and get him out of his current political wilderness. Moreover, a few years as U.S. Secretary of State would look good on his resume were he to try to get his old job back from the incumbent Gov. Rick Scott.
Answer: Christ won't have that much impact on Florida, if any. Besides, it is rumored that he will try to run for governor again as a Democrat in 2014. I live in Florida and I would be fine with Christ coming back. Anything to get rid of the putz we have now. As for secretary of state, Christ isn't qualified for that job. There is talk of Kerry getting it in a second Obama administration.

Liberals where is your anger with your own party leaders?

With Sen. Dodd admitting that he and many in congress knew about the AIG bonuses before the suckthelifefromus bill was passed, where is your anger at the campaign contributions these same "leaders" took from these companies. Should they give that money back? What about Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae execs getting bonuses. Sen. Dodd got over 100 thousand from AIG, The four largest recipients of political donations by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from 1989 through 2008 were Sen. Chris Dodd ($133,900), Sen. John Kerry ($111,000), President Barack Obama ($105,849), and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ($75,550). Where are the movies, stickers and other hate filled rhetoric aimed at your own "leaders" over the same crap you continually accuse the other guys of??? Bush a trillion over 8 years, Obama a couple of trillion over 8 weeks. wit welcome lack of not. Thank you.
Answer: Have to blame the media for not adequately reporting these stories. They did it during the election and they are doing it now. The Liberals simply turn off FOX News because they think it's biased. Huh? Who is being mislead? They know what's going on, but choose to look the other way. I was very displeased with the Republican Party under Bush and voiced it. Problem is, the Democrats are worse. More spending, more control, more power. If Obama wants to change anything, why is he recycling the Clinton gang?

By Dick Morris And Eileen McGann 11.7.2008 Can’t the anti-Washington insiders President-elect find anyone who isn’t a Beltway has-been? Judging by the appointments to his transition committee and leaks about possible top staff and Cabinet choices, Obama appears to be practicing the politics of status quo, not the politics of change. Obama based his innovative campaign on an emphatic and convincing commitment to change the culture of Washington and bring in new people, new ideas, and new ways of doing business. But now, Obama has definitely changed his tune. As president-elect, he’s brought back the old Washington hacks, party regulars, and Clinton sycophants that he so frequently disparaged. Like Jimmy Carter, the last President who ran as an outsider, Obama has reached out to the same old folks who dominate the Democratic Party and represent the status quo. His Transition Committee looks like a reunion of the Clinton Administration. No new ideas of how to reform the system there. The Chairman, John Podesta, was Clinton’s Chief of Staff. He presided over the outrageous last minute pardons and his style is strictly inside-the-beltway and make-no-waves. Then there’s Carol Browner, Clinton’s competent former EPA Administrator who became the consummate Washington insider. She’s Madeline Albright’s partner and recently married mega-lobbyist and former Congressman Tom Downey. During the uproar over Dubai taking over U.S. ports, Browner brought Downey to meet with Senator Chuck Schumer to plead Dubai’s case. Downey was paid half a million dollars to push Dubai’s position. He’s also a lobbyist for Fannie Mae, paid half a million to try to cover their rears on the subprime mortgage mess. Is his change? Federico Pena was Clinton’s Secretary of Transportation and of Energy. The President felt he was unduly soft on Air Florida after their crash and lost confidence in him. Now he’s back as a Transition Committee member. Bill Daley, Clinton’s former Secretary of Commerce and the brother of the Mayor of Chicago, is the epitome of the old Democratic establishment. Clinton appointed him to the Fannie Mae Board and his son worked as a lobbyist for the agency. Aren’t these the kind of folks that Obama ran against? Larry Summers, President of Harvard and former Clinton Secretary of the Treasury is not exactly an outsider either. He’s also alienated more than a few with his bizarre suggestion that women may be genetically inferior to men in math and science. Susan Rice, Assistant Secretary of State under Clinton advised John Kerry and Mike Dukakis. Does that tell you enough? Obama has named one of his big bundlers - Michael Froman, an executive at Citigroup. Is this supposed to symbolize change? Obama’s choice of a spokesperson for the transition is also surprising; hers’ is definitely not the face of reason and new politics. Stephanie Cutter is the brash and combative former Clinton, Kerry, and Ted Kennedy mouthpiece. The liberal DailyKos.com once described Cutter as “a moron to the nth degree” when she tried unsuccessfully to force the New York Times’ Adam Nagourney to treat her unsolicited email criticizing Howard Dean as “background” without mentioning her name. Speaking of brash, Rahm Emmanuel, the new White House Chief of Staff, makes Cutter look timid. Rahm is also a former Clinton White House staffer - and a very obnoxious one. He spent his White House years leaking to the Washington Post whenever he didn’t like what the President was doing. Even Bill Clinton stopped trusting him. Any hopes of Obama keeping his commitment to reach across the aisle would go right out the window with Rahm’s appointment. Instead of extending a hand to the opposition, it would be like raising just one finger. And Rahm’s strident demeanor laced with the ‘f’ word in every sentence will do little to elevate the bipartisan dialogue in Washington. Christopher Edley, another member of the transition team, is Dean of the Berkeley Law School. He’s a former member of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission under Clinton and his wife, Maria Echaveste was Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff. Transition committee staffer Christine Varney was a Federal Trade Commissioner under Clinton and worked in the White House. Throughout the early debates, Obama criticized Hillary as part of the inside-the beltway establishment that needed to go. But now he’s reaching out to these exact same folks. Some change. Source: http://www.dickmorris.com/blog/2008/11/07/obamas-change-back-to-the-democratic-washington-insiders/#more-485 There the idiots go again, how does who says it change the facts?
Answer: He campaigned on "change" -- yet chose Sen. Biden as his running mate. Supposedly because of his vast experience with Foreign Relations. President Elect Obama is in WAY over his head -- no experience, no experience, no experience. All these "has beens" have experience. As for the change -- get ready, it's coming ..... his supporters are in for a rude awakening.

Do You Know What Obamas Win Means?

What Obamas Win Means It means a lot of things so I thought Id mention a few: America finally has a national health care system. Pre-exisiting conditions no longer kills your chances at getting insurance. Since everybodys on the plan, maybe hospitals will stop charging $150 for an aspirin. The Supreme Court wont be stacked with Earth-is-flat crazies. The Dream Act will not be repealed. The Koch Brothers and Sheldon Adelson wasted all their millions - ha ha Their money wasnt as strong as the truth. Democrats have another double-winner. Clinton was our only double winner in fifty years and now we have another. If Gore and Kerry had chosen to fight, we mightve had six terms in a row. John Bolton wont be Secretary of State. The race part of this has mostly gone away and by that I mean they cant say, "We tried a ni****r president and he was awful - we wont make that mistake again." Maybe Obama is now free to act like a Democrat. He can stop using his patented "Whatever you want" style of diplomacy. And if the Teabaggers continue to run the GOP, their craziest nutjobs will win the primaries and the GOP will fill up with Todd Akin-class sickos. Republicans, of course, will listen to Rush Limbaugh and nominate some cant-win radical like Paul Ryan in 2016 and and thatll make Hillarys decision to run that much easier.
Answer: bad girl you need to listen to Bobby because he knows what he is talking about. Our great nation is soon to be destroyed by a man who has no loyality to America except for it's destruction and government overtake. Once this transition transpires, don't come complaining to the ones who did not vote for him. Look in the mirror and see who is responsible for the downfall of our nation. Bobby, I particularly liked this part: "Don't cry when reality hits you in the face, Those who have been paying attention to this incompetent hack in the white house knows the dangers that lies ahead of the things that is going to happen." I really hate saying this, but you really did hit the nail on the head.

What would Barry Obamas cabinet look like? I have put my ideas below, what do you think?

Secretary of State - George Soros Secretary of the Treasury - Barney "Fannie and Freddie are Fine" Frank Secretary of Defense - Dennis Kuchinich - he wants to rename it the Dept. Of Peace Attorney General - Bernadine Dorhn Secretary of the Interior - Ward Churchill Secretary of Agriculture - Not sure Secretary of Commerce - Hugo Chavez Secretary of Labor - Nancy "lets make labor laws, but dont apply them to my illegal workers" Pelosi Secretary of Health and Human Services - Rev. Jeremiah Wright Secretary of Housing and Urban Development - Tony Rezko Secretary of Transportation - Oprah - she will just give everyone in the country a free car..if they go to her show Secretary of Energy - Al "Everyone else needs cut back energy use, but I dont" Gore Secretary of Education - William Ayers - teaching kids how to make better IEDs Secretary of Veterans Affairs - Matt Damon (he played a soldier in a movie once) Secretary of Homeland Security - Sandy "Docs in Socks" Berger
Answer: I see John Kerry as Secretary of State. He speaks French after all. I picture George Soros as Secretary of the Treasury. He has a natural affinity for money after all. He won't have a Secretary of Defense because President Obama will resolve all of the worlds problems without resort to bloodshed or force, just by talking to the nastiest dictators in the world. I picture Ramsey Clark as Attorney General--again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramsey_Clark Maude Hurd, President of A.C.O.R.N., would be named as Secretary of the Interior. I mean acorns grow into trees and trees are part of what the Interior Department deals with, right? For Secretary of Labor, I see him naming AFL-CIO president John J. Sweeney. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Sweeney_(labor_leader) He might as welll, since he sold his soul to them years ago anyway. Al Gore will be named as Secretary of Agriculture, since under an Obama administration something will have to be done about all of those cows polluting the air with methane gas emissions. I see Rev. Jeremiah Wright as Secretary of Education. He has a doctorate after all. Tony Rezko, after he his pardoned, would be a natural to oversea the Department of Energy. Think of the fun that he would have selling offshore oil leases. Tom Hanks will be picked as Secretary of Veteran's Affairs. (Hanks played an officer after all.) Secretary of Homeland Security would go to Obama's kind of patriot--Jane Fonda. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Fonda Bernadine Dohrn will head up the F.B.I. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernardine_Dohrn But the most most surprising pick would be President Obama's naming of Tony Soprano as IRS Commissioner. When challenged, President Obama would point out the similarities between what Tony did in New Jersey and what the IRS will have to do now to pay for his additional social programs. When it finally dawns of him that Tony Soprano is a fictional character, President Obama will pick up the telephone and call the person who recommended him for the job--Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton's will say simply, "Gotcha! Hillary is gonna love this one! Heck, she might even let me sleep in the same bed with her tonight."

I just wanna get an idea of who might win! I say Obama all the way! Hilarys campain is in a financial mess and then she lied about the incident in Bosnia! Which one do you all want to win? interesting..um dude who answered down there i just said i want to see who might win!
Answer: Barack Obama Many say they are very similar on issues, and when put in comparison with McCain that may have some truth-especially in appointing Supreme Court justices. When this campaign started I immediately identified Hillary as the Democrat candidate most aligned with Bush and the Republicans on Foreign Policy. *Her Yes Vote for Authorizing the U.S. Invasion of Iraq (she didn't even look at the Intelligence Estimate which contradicted the Bush administration's lies.) *Her NO vote on banning landmines * Her NO vote on banning cluster bombs * Her Yes vote on the hostile Kyl-Lieberman Ammendment naming Iranians "terrorists." (I believe she would not hesitate to bomb Iran) The way she has campaigned has shown her to be egotistical and power driven: her favorable comparison of McCain over Obama shows she would rather have McCain defeat Obama so she could challenge McCain in 2012 than have a fellow Democrat win. "Clinton Ramps Up Call to Count Florida, Michigan" By Beth Fouhy The Associated Press Saturday 05 April 2008 Hillsboro, Oregon -" Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton Saturday strengthened her pitch to allow disputed primaries in Michigan and Florida to be counted in the nominating contest, noting the vote totals had been officially recognized in each state. "Some say their votes should be ignored and the popular vote in Michigan and Florida should be discounted. Well, I have a different view," Clinton said at a rally here. "The popular vote in Florida and Michigan has already been counted. It was determined by election results, it was certified by election officials in each state, it's been officially tallied by the secretary of state in each state, and the question is whether those 2.3 million Democrats will be honored and their delegates seated by the Democratic party." Both the Michigan and Florida primaries were essentially nullified after they were moved into January in violation of national Democratic party rules. The party voted to strip both states of their delegates and all the candidates, including Clinton and rival Barack Obama, signed a pledge not to campaign in either state. Obama and several other Democratic candidates also removed their names from the Michigan primary ballot." Sadly this campaign has caused a rift between me and many of my fellow Democrats. I just can't understand how they support her. Her contradictions on NAFTA (she was a outspoken supporter in the 1990s) are embarrassing. Barack Obama strikes me as the most charismatic candidate since JFK and RFK. He is highly intelligent, flexible, willing to use diplomacy in world affairs, and has shown integrity and strength of character when faced with adversity. Unlike Kerry in 2004, when Obama was attacked by the Corporate media over words said by Pastor Wright 7 years ago, he responded by delivering an amazing well thought out speech that was critical of a few words by Jeremiah Wright, while at the same time defended his association with him. Obama had the foresight to speakout against the Invasion of Iraq when it mattered most, and correctly predicted (like Dennis Kucincich did as well) that it would be a long Occupation with mass deaths and an economic burden on our nation.

Answer: I'm not surprised. The media is leaning so far to the left you can't even trust what they say. It could work in McCain's favor to. If enough Obama supporters think he's way ahead they may not think they have to bother to vote. I wouldn't count McCain down and out either, remember Kerry and Gore were ahead and guess what...... they lost.

Democrats & Liberals: John Kerry for Secretary of State??

Honestly, Obama probably still would have selected her for the job regardless, but she has withdrawn because of the negative attention and acknowledges that it wouldn't be the right thing for America right now. It's the honorable thing to do, however the Democrats can't afford to lose John ... Kerry or Lugar are both very qualified for the position, and it looks more like Kerry will get the job. But in terms of Democrat positioning, it may be better if Obama picks Lugar.

THE PROSPECTS; Indiana Senator Offers Risks and Rewards for Obama as Running Mate

As the Senate debate on the use of force against Iraq neared its climax in October 2002, Senator John McCain turned on the floor to Senator Evan Bayh to ask what had led him to take such a visible, as well as important role in seeking Congressional consent for military action. Mr. Bayh, a cautious Indiana Democrat, acknowledged it had not been - By CARL HULSE; David M. Herszenhorn contributed reporting.

The Final Days

The armored black limousine rolled to a halt near the foot of Air Force One. Secret Service agents opened the doors simultaneously, and from opposite sides emerged President George W. Since the DNC will only give Michigan delegates half a vote - can?

I do that too.? I mean half a vote -- whats up with that?
Answer: This half-vote is the way of the spineless party elders admitting that they screwed up when they endorsed Barak Obama too quickly. They had hoped that they would endorse this naive candidate, make him look like some kind of a savior of the party and the nation, and when he got a lead in the primaries, Hillary would drop out. Which is what the other spineless boinkers like Richardson, Biden, Dodd, Edwards, etc., did. The idiots at the top of DNC had hoped that perhaps Hillary would do that too. Well that did not happen. And now its too late for them to admit that perhaps they all backed the wrong horse. They know very well that Barak Obama is all show, no go. But these spineless boinkers will never admit that they might have been wrong because switching sides this late would not be very appropriate for their own image. And besides, some of these losers have been promised top jobs in Washington if Obama does elected. For example, there is talk of John Kerry for Secretary of State, etf... So rather than create a distinct rift in the party, by keeping Michigan and Florida out, these spineless boinkers have come up with this ridiculous compromise of half vote. They are hoping to heal the wounds and praying that when the nomination is finally announced, that all of the Hillary's supporters will just come rushing over to Obama's corner and everyone will live happily ever after. Well, they are about to get a rude awakening. Stay tuned and wait till January, when John and Cindy McCain walk down Pennsylvania Avenue and move into the White house. These Jerks will stand around and seethe with envy. And poor Hillary will go off on a long and a well-deserved vacation.

Is knowing whether or not Susan Rice misspoke or -->?

simply said what she was told to say going to bring back those who died? Will it help ensure those responsible are punished? Will it prevent another terrorist attack on embassies in the future? Or is it just a way to drop her as a candidate for the next Secretary of State for political reasons thus making the entire controversy nothing more then a partisan witch hunt lead entirely by Republicans eying Kerry for the position so that they can run Scott Brown for his emptied seat? Susan Rice is the Ambassador to the United Nations. She in not some insider who helped terrorists or covered up that it was terrorists. You guy are reaching far behind who is responsible for the attack and trying to blame the attack on people whose only offense is what they said they knew about the reasons the embassy was attacked. If you guys spent just an ounce of that energy going after the ones responsible for the attack, youd actually accomplish your goal of bringing justice to the victims and their families instead of going after some mouth piece trying to explain why it happened in the heat of the moment. If youd guys were so serious about justice for the victims, you would have been on Bushs case for not having killed or captured Bin Laden like he promised he would shortly after 9/11. You dont care about justice. You care about placing blame on everyone BUT the terrorists.
Answer: It seems that only 2 1/2 Republican senators have been afflicted by this artificial outrage, and it's destined to do nothing but make them look foolish. Again. I can't imagine what their motives might be. But it looks like, for some reason, Obama doesn't want Kerry in State. Speculation is that he'll be nominated for Defense. Do you think Scott Brown would really run again so soon after losing? It would be unusual, but maybe you're right.
